First- and last-time ordering. I ordered Sweet & Sour Chicken, Wonton Soup and B.B.Q. Pork & Fried Shrimp. Pure garbage and scammed. Check out the pictures. No sweet and sour sauce or BBQ pork. All items tossed in the garbage. Waste of money.

A lot better than expected. It looked like a crap shack but the food didn't taste like crap thankfully. New Chinese Kitchen is among the cheaper eating options in Woodridge. Even though it's cheap, the portions are big. The food is much better tasting than a typical Chinese restaurant in a strip mall and they have more than the usual all too common items. It seems to do all its business only by carryout. I ordered the Hong Sue Tofu to go. This is one of the less common Chinese food items you typically find in a place like this. It's $9.65 for a pretty big amount. This has vegetables like broccoli and peppers. It's covered in a spicy and sticky sauce that gives it a quite bold flavor. Pretty good amount of food in this. Has enough for a couple meals. The tofu was cooked enough so it wasn't too hard or soft. Good place for carryout Chinese. It has some good healthier choices to get. There's plenty for a vegetarian.

Bring back the former owners. This new management needs help. The owners are nice and friendly but need to go back to cooking school. It's been less than 2 years since we last bought food there. We did mind spending over 50.00 for good food. Stop short, cutting the preparation of food and taste.

    Good chicken rice soup

Let me start off saying that I want to like this place. But it probably won't happen. Visited here one evening and purchased beef in black bean & garlic sauce, egg roll and chicken rice soup. I loved the egg rolls. They are small but they give you 3 per order. The chicken rice soup was very good and can come in handy with the cold, flu, COVID season among us. Those two things may bring me back. Service was decent. The beef in black bean & garlic sauce was not good. The beef itself was meaty but very chewy. Not tender at all. No flavor was found within the entire dish. Also, I felt I was eating an onion dish rather a beef dish because of the overwhelming number of onions. After eating this, I knew my chances for a date was slim to none and there was no chance for me to receive a... "Kiss" sung by PRINCE (RIP)

Beef Vegetables Chow Mein and Beef Fried Rice

110720 New China Kitchen Woodward Ave Woodridge Heard how great this place was an the app Nextdoor so I had to try it. First unfortunately and I've had this with other Chinese style restaurants the person on the phone is very impatient and on the verge of being rude. I understand they are busy but hire someone to answer the phone vs doing everything. I understand that was a busy Saturday but not everybody knows everything about Chinese food I ordered Beef with vegetable Cantonese Chow mein And Beef fried rice Egg rolls I'll admit the portions were large with both the rice and with the chow mein. Sadly that was the best of it.  The beef fried rice had strips of beef in it with very little to no flavor along with boring flavored brown colored rice. I saw nothing else in it.  The Cantonese chow mein, the noodles were just spaghetti noodles with their version of Cantonese sauce or flavoring. Sadly the noodle was the most flavorful part of the whole meal. The beef again flat strips was tender but lacking in flavor.  The vegetables the small amounts that were added were rubbery and no flavor and mostly sprouts. Egg Rolls Unfortunately they were fried in something that was fishy which made them smell and taste fishy I was so disappointed with all the great reviews this place had and the only thing going for it was it was large portion sizes. Carry out only, located in a small strip mall, average prices large menu

Filed with broccoli without much chicken.

I decided to try this place for dinner and was disappointed as the reviews looked so good. I got the chicken with broccoli, however it should have been called broccoli with broccoli as there were only 4 or five small pieces of chicken and the rest packed with broccoli I couldn't finish. The fried rice tasted like it had been made with coffee or some other odd flavor. Something didn't taste right with it and it was barely edible. The potstickers were the only good part of the meal as they were cooked perfectly and the flavor combined with dipping sauce made them even more delicious. I don't think I will be going back. For the price, it wasn't worth the effort and food. I would recommend trying another place.

The food is consistently delicious, but what really sets this place apart for us is their excellent gluten-free menu. Finding a sushi or Chinese restaurant that offers quality gluten-free options can be surprisingly difficult, so having a place where we know we can order with confidence means a lot. It's made dining out so much easier, and it's a big reason we've become loyal customers. Whether you're looking for sushi, Chinese dishes, or gluten-free options that don't feel like an afterthought, Wasabi is absolutely worth a visit. Great food, great service, and a restaurant we find ourselves coming back to again and again.

I ordered two vegetarian sushi rolls and one…read moreseafood roll, and when I picked up the order they were all placed in the same container. Unfortunately my wife is vegetarian and the seafood roll included fish eggs, so that obviously doesn't work. I called the restaurant to ask if the order could be remade and simply packaged separately. At first I was told no, and after speaking with the manager it turned into an unnecessarily difficult conversation before they finally agreed to remake it. What was most disappointing wasn't the initial mistake -- those happen -- but the attitude and unwillingness to correct something that was such a simple fix. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I strongly believe that taking care of your guests and making things right should always come first. Losing a loyal customer over the cost of a few sushi rolls simply doesn't make sense. Restaurants, especially those serving seafood and shellfish, should be mindful that many guests have dietary restrictions, allergies, or lifestyle choices like vegetarian or vegan diets. Unless it's clearly stated otherwise, customers should be able to expect that separate items will be packaged separately. Unfortunately this experience has made me reconsider supporting a place I've visited and recommended many times before in Downers Grove. Hoping this is something they reflect on for the future.

Went to this joint for the first time tonight for dinner with my partner…read more My son recommended their crispy pata and lumpia Shanghai, so we tried those along with their homemade siomai. My goodness, everything was so good! The crispy pata has an incredibly crispy skin, with soft, tender, and flavorful pork meat inside. We were told by the owner, Ryan, that they slow cook the meat in its own juices for 6 hours prior to deep frying it. The result is nothing short of one of the best interpretations of this favorite Filipino dish. Definitely my favorite! The lumpia is top-notch -- crispy, crunchy, and perfectly seasoned. The siomai is garlicky and delicious as well. All of this for just $32. The price is unbelievable considering the quality of food they are serving. Everything was fresh and served hot from the kitchen, unlike the typical Filipino "turo-turo" style restaurant. They also have combo meals for $12.99 all day. I have to try their lechon belly and crispy kare-kare next time. This place is truly a hidden gem! You have to try it, and you will not be disappointed. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family. Thanks to the owner, Ryan. I think you have a winner here!

The first thing I…read morenoticed was, during the checkout process, the form asked for a tip, and had 20% checked as a default. 20% for what??? Handing me a bag? I got kung pao beef and a couple of other things. The "beef" in the kung pao was so fatty and chewy I could literally not eat it. I kept trying, but it was EVERY PIECE in the container. A total loss. I called to let the restaurant know. The woman who took the call assured me my card would be credited the amount of the item. This was outright FRAUD, as my card was never credited for this food I could not eat. She also said the manager would call me back, which also did not happen. Bad enough the food was inedible, but blatantly lying to me was way over the line. The rest of the items were on the bland side, and I'm not sure if I would have come back. But after what happened, I'm avoiding this place like the plague. I cannot afford to literally throw my money in the garbage.
