Weds night special - rigatoni in tomato cream sauce w burrata.
    Dana S.

Quick meal, good service but unremarkable flavor. Just meh. Server brings this from 2.5 to 3 stars, she was wonderful. Had the Italian special on a Wednesday night - rigatoni in a tomato cream sauce with burrata and Italian sausage. 3/5 stars. Mac and cheese - cavatelli pasta but nothing memorable about this dish. 2/5 stars Sesame bowl - more of a salad than a bowl, which was disappointing. Heavy on the sesame oil, it was just ok. 2/5 stars Ample parking, server was great. Lots of folks outside playing games in the rain. They host bingo on the weekends.

We were in Eagan and had two hours while our daughter was at a birthday party, and we asked a friend for a restaurant suggestion. Without hesitation, he told us to go to Yankee Tavern. We were seated right away, and the Halloween decorations were awesome! (Our son loved walking around and checking out all the spooky creatures while we waited for our food.) $3 Hamms pints during Happy Hour? Yes, please! The kiddo had a cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate milk. The burger was huge! My husband and I split the six piece fried chicken, Memphis Hot! This came with three sides of our choice, so we got tater tots, Szechuan green beans, and coleslaw. It was SO MUCH food! We took half home and had it for lunch the next day. Flavors were good and service was fantastic. The only downside is that it's far away from our house. I will absolutely go back if we have the opportunity.

Sat at the bar. Bar was pretty full but tables were open. Bartender wasn't friendly. Acted like we were an inconvenience. Disappointed. Food was ok. Brisket was way too salty. Cheese curd was delicious though.

Dry rub wings and the best blue cheese I've ever had

I've been to Yankee Tavern many times with family and friends. Decided to get the dry rub chicken wings and cheeseburger flatbread for the first time, and OMG they were both SO GOOD!!! The wings had a smoky flavor and the blue cheese was the best I've ever had. The flatbread crust was buttery and crispy. I don't know how I've gone this long without ordering either of these items. Will definitely be back!

First time coming to Yankee Tavern on 6/11/2021. The place was clean, the tables were spaced well enough for social distancing and the booths had covered partition in between. The staff was attentive and pleasant, our server kept excellent track of what everybody was ordering (our party arrived at different times and some had dinner and others didn't). The drinks were well made and worth the price. Will certainly go back.

Didn't think the foam on this beer was real... it never changed.

Hey, I like this place! These owners have created a great venue that is a cross between a clean city dive, a supper club and a sports bar. It had all my favorite elements I look for in finding a new relaxing establishment for food, drink, tunes, sports on the tv and some friendly staff and patrons. Bartender Scott was behind the bar tonight by himself and he was working his tail off! My husband and I enjoyed a couple of drinks that were very reasonably priced. An IPA for $5.25 each and a Tuesday night margarita special for $3.50. We enjoyed the dry rub wings $10.50 with a large bowl of blue cheese dressing and the reaper burger that was spicy "hot"!... but pretty darn good. Most items don't typically come with a side ( which is just fine) so we did order the Parmesan crusted Mac and cheese and it really was good- not sure I really have ever order Mac and cheese at a restaurant without being with children. We finished our dinner and walked outside to the patio deck- what a nice spot with beautiful flowers where we could see several groups playing bocce ball and also getting bar service. How cool is that? We would love to return this summer with some friends and or family on a lazy weekend afternoon and soak up some sun and fun. Oh.. by the way. They have hard boiled eggs on the bar. Just crack and enjoy.

First off, going through the hidden Coke machine entrance is actually really fun and makes the whole place feel like a little adventure. The decor and speakeasy atmosphere are definitely the standout. Very cool space. VERY loud though. Like "lean across the table and say WHAT?" loud at times. The waitress was super nice and recommended a mocktail for me that called Ass in the Sand. It ended up being really good. It tasted like an elevated lemonade and was probably one of my favorite parts of the meal. Started with the rolls and whipped honey butter which were delicious. Very soft, warm, and honestly dangerous because I could've just kept eating bread all night. For the main meal, I did the Wagyu Burger with Parmesan fries. The burger itself was okay but surprisingly didn't have a ton of flavor outside of the grilled/charred taste. The Parmesan fries were actually the standout for me -- hand cut fries and parmesan fries are just hard to mess up. My partner tried the Mushroom Soup en Croute and wasn't a fan because the mushrooms were blended and he said it lacked flavor. He also had a Steak Taco special using their medallion steak and said even with lime it still needed more flavor. Finished with Crème Brûlée which is always a classic favorite for me and this one was good. Overall: fun experience, cool hidden entrance, great decor, good mocktail and bread, but the actual food menu is pretty limited and the flavors didn't totally wow me for the price. Glad I went and finally crossed it off my list, but probably a one-and-done visit for me.

My first thought was holy bottles! There's tons and tons of bottles up and down the walls. The space is also smaller than expected, but we went in at 3PM as a party of 4 on a Sunday and had no problem getting seated. I ordered the Lost Footage and it was delicious (and strong!!). It came in a flask inside of a VHS case which was fun. I then got to pour it into my glass. Other members of my group got The Red Wedding, Pity Party, and To Your Health. My spouse and I shared the strip steak and the wedge salad, which we enjoyed. I would like to see some more food options in the future, especially since I'm already pretty limited due to a gluten allergy. However, I am excited to come back.

Both the drink and the burger were absolutely delicious. I especially enjoyed the fries, which were in a spiral wedge shape I had never tried before. My server was very friendly and attentive, doing a great job managing a packed restaurant. When I went again last night, I left extremely disappointed. I got a different specialty cocktail and the yum yum burger. The cocktail was undrinkable, whatever vodka they used was absolutely repulsive and the mixers were not strong enough to override that. The burger was supposed to have crispy onions, but they were very soft. The bacon was too chewy and not cooked well. The entire burger was mushy and the taste wasn't pleasant either. The fries were still good at least. My server this time was also incredibly rude and I had to ask for water multiple times because he kept forgetting. I guess it depends on the day whether you'll be satisfied or upset. Overall, I probably won't go again.

I entered through the west side of the building that noted Lucky's, fear not, when I entered and told the host I was looking for the Mudd Room she gave me precise directions to get downstairs! Once downstairs I came upon the nice single toilet ladies room. I proceeded in to the bar, asked the blonde bartender where the music would be? She pointed to the stage @ the end of the bar and said it could be loud right by the speaker so she'd recommend sitting a few tables away. She said the parties near the stage were tabbing out if I wanted to sit there? I said I would take a seat @ the end until they were through. Shortly after I sat down the very friendly brunette server brought me a glass of ice water... thanks! She remained attentive all night, filling my water three times. Despite not looking over the menu she was very thoughtful when she popped by just to say it was last call for the kitchen, did I want anything? I meant to get the gals names, I did not, sorry. Music wasn't too loud; the acoustics and lighting were great since the speakeasy is already dimly lit. The restaurant has a bar-and-grill atmosphere, which makes sense given the brewery focus. It felt lively but still comfortable for a holiday dinner, and the menu offered several appealing choices both for the special and on the regular menu. We started with shrimp, which was cooked properly and had a good texture--firm and enjoyable without any rubbery or off-putting qualities. The French onion soup was a comforting course and fit the meal well. For the main, I ordered the burger, which was solid and satisfying. While not flashy, it was well prepared and enjoyable. A standout side was the sweet potato fries, which were exceptionally crisp with just the right amount of salt--easily some of the best I've had in a while. The dessert rounded out the meal nicely and completed the four-course experience. Nothing during the meal disappointed me; everything we had was good and well executed. Service was pleasant and professional. Our server was friendly and attentive, though the kitchen timing was a bit slow. We did notice that a few tables seated after us received their food sooner, but it wasn't enough to detract significantly from the overall experience. At $69 for a four-course Valentine's Day meal, the special felt like a good deal, offering variety and solid quality without feeling overpriced. Overall, Granite City delivered a comfortable, enjoyable holiday dinner with reliable food and good value.
