So I stopped by Dark Side Games while I was in the area! This store looked clean inside and had a ton of inventory! Jon and Fern were the dudes who helped me and they are both super nice and helpful! Definitely recommend the shop for your hobby needs, worth a visit if you are into any of the games they carry.

My kid is on a Pokemon card kick and I can never say no, so we yelped the nearest gaming store and this one popped up. I am always at the Target near this shop, but didn't notice it until my kid started her Pokemon obsession. Their shop is very organized, clean, and inviting. The two guys who were working there are so nice and friendly. We picked out our cards and some booster packs and I have to say their prices are GREAT! They gave my daughter a Pokemon poster and some stickers as a promo and it made her day! I'm so glad we stopped by. We'll probably make a stop here weekly since they are so close by!

Needed emergency lands for a drafting event over the weekend. Great service! There's tons of space in there for magic events.

Adam slowly went through my collection (unlimited-alliances) and gave very fair prices for things they needed.

They were extremely friendly and provided me with some insight into this hobby. There were a lot of figurines available, and supplies to paint them. They hold sessions that do not crossover to local shops nearby (Odyssey games, geeky teas, Pegasus, etc.). This is one of 3 Warhammer cafes and the displays they have on the floor come from the European countries. They only sale and allow Warhammer related items in the store. They have some tables where people can play for free and use their space for any social gatherings for Warhammer. They host events here and there for people to learn or gain knowledge in this world. They also have a little Cafe inside where you can get some desserts and drinks. The figurines are costly and this is a very expensive hobby. Even though I didnt purchase anything, they were all very friendly and didnt force us to purchase anything. I believe their intent is to educate people in the art of RPGs and the amazing skills it takes to paint and create figurines. No judgments are given to those who walk into the store.

I was a beginner when I stumbled in and the staff was super friendly and helpful. They have tips on gameplay, painting techniques, or if you just wanna chat about lore and the new books that are coming out, it's so cool that they're into the hobby and not just there to press buttons on the register. The store is massive and has epic displays throughout, definitely walk around and all the way to the back where the tables are. You can sit there and build/paint or bring your army and use their terrain to play a game; and if you have questions while playing or want to learn to play there's ALWAYS someone knowledgeable to help. Their book section is probably the nicest in the area, they get perks for being the official LA cafe so you can find special Black Library editions which is super exciting for people like me and my mans who have a small library at home. All in all, I love this place, and if you have any interest at all in the world of Warhammer definitely check it out. For the mere price of your entire attention span and available hobby hours you can find not just a game but a community.

BHOFC is not your typical card shop, the shop is "nicely" set up with display cases in the middle and sides of the shop. It really felt like I was in someone's personal showroom or in a bar with barstools and drink coasters to sit around and talk sports. Lots of family love involved in setting up this shop. So I walked in, get greeted, and eavesdrop on a conversation between another visitor and the owner while checking out the shop. The other visitor had a bunch of old loose cards at home and asked if he should grade. Owner went into a long, accurate and detailed explanation of the various card grading companies without any annoyance. Good job in explaining card grading and the main grading companies. Side note: this shop can submit to PSA on your behalf for an additional fee per card. The owner talked about the aesthetics of the card grading headers if you're into displaying, the resale pros and cons of the grading companies, and the online set registry library of PSA. He knew his stuff. I checked out the card cases, lots of graded and ungraded cards, packs for sales, framed prints on the wall, signed jerseys, Dodger stuff, etc... a very cool shop and an owner that has a passion for sports collectibles. He asked if I was looking for something in particular and I told him I was a collector of graded Stephen Curry cards. He said he didn't have many of Steph's graded cards. Too bad. Overall, the dude is a good ambassador for the industry. Free drink coaster too.

Avoid this store for tournaments…read more I had a confirmed registration through the Bandai app for their tournament, yet when I arrived 10 minutes early, I was turned away. The store had set an early check-in cutoff that was only announced on their private Discord server, with no notification on the Bandai app where players actually registered. As a result, waitlisted players were let in ahead of those of us with confirmed spots, and we were then told to join a waitlist of 40+ people, despite having already secured our registrations. Several other registered players I knew experienced the same problem. Many of them had driven over 45 minutes with the assumption of a secured spot while arriving before the start time. This is a serious problem. If an event is open to the public and registration is handled through the Bandai app, critical information like check-in deadlines should be communicated through that same platform, not buried in a Discord that not all participants know about or have access to. The way this was handled strongly favors locals and regulars who are already in their circle, which is unfair to outside players who followed the proper registration process. I would not recommend supporting this shop.

They host tournaments as well, and have plenty of tables and chairs for casual play. It seems like locals and visitors drop by to check out this spot. The first time we came, we did not receive the best customer service. We were asking for what cards they had available and the person at the counter had short answers and we were ignored no matter how many times we tried to get their attention. The second time we came, it was much friendlier and warm. They shared with us that tournaments for One Piece tournaments happen (at least for now) on Thursdays and Sundays. We are still "shopping" around for an LCS but we will definitely keep them in mind and come to a tournament to check out the community. I like how the shop has an open space feel to it and offer some food and drinks.
