The food is good but the service needs to improve. During my last visit, on a day that was not busy at all, it took over ten minute for me to order my food. The cashier was in the back (behind the register) taking and the gentleman at the bar ignored me while he was stirring something (looked like some kind of sauce). Finally someone took my order but I felt like I was bothering them (I didn't feel welcome). If the service was better I would come in more often and recommend the place to friends but I was very displeased during my last visit. Amazing service! Utter goodness! Served my staff today and the compliments kept coming. The salmon croquettes were perfect! I'm salivating just thinking about them. The service was more like going to a relative's house (incredibly warm, helpful, but not overbearing), and the food was delicious! It was our first time visiting and we were given samples of the gumbo (to die for) jambalaya (uh-mazing) and the red beans and rice (yum!) my husband and I have frequented New Orleans and are in love with everything the city has to offer especially the food. It Darrow's doesn't fall in the least short of the taste that we long for when we can't visit the crescent city. The food is fantastic. Everything we had was so tasty and flavorful. The staff was super nice to my 8 year old dining companions. There was a little mixup on my sides, which was happily and efficiently remedied. The girls had chicken po boys with fries and I had the turkey sausage po boy with greens. Everything is delicious. What a horrible experience. After a long day and week of talking to kids about college, we came here to eat. When we got here, there were 3 other people here. As I write this review we are 1 hour and 40 mins in and NO food. Parties have come in after us and got their food while our party of 11 sit waiting. They brought 4 peoples food out of the group. After multiple check ins they said they could have it out to us in 20 mins. Are you serious? Unacceptable! Because our Recruiters were hungry and tired, we agreed and asked for it to go. All we got were excuses and incompetence. I would've been happy with Chick-fil-a instead of this. At least I would've made it back to my hotel in time to pick up my Birthday treats by 7 PM and get some Starbucks so I can get work done in preparation for our college expo the next day. That won't happen because of the extensive delay. Worst service ever. 20 mins didn't happen. 2 hours in a restaurant and no food!!! SMH!!! read more
