Ordered the #BombayLatte but you must be a fan of cardamom because you can definitely taste it I also had the #JambonBuerre and it was delicious with the ham, herb butter, Gruyère, arugula and mustard. I am a returning customer but these two items were a first for me

I had the Caprese baguet and it was super crispy and full of popping flavors ! The service here was very welcoming and warming. I enjoy the view of the worker making the freshest pastrys. The price for the Baget was very affordable too. I definitely coming back tomorrow!!

Je taime Darshan Bakery. The coffee and food is magnifique! We had the turkey and avocado sandwich, almond chocolate croissant and latte....all of which was super yum. We will certainly frequent this wonderful place.

One year later and I'm back! I came at 3pm. The interior is really pretty and I do love how the light shines through the seating area. They also had a few books in the corner, I believe. It is clean, organized, but they do not have water cups for you. Maybe if you go at 3pm, you have to ask for it. They also have outdoor seating. Also, Yelp says there's an ocean view....No, you're not on the beach and you can't really see the water either because of the building in front. For a French bakery it didn't have many French baked goods-- for some reason lots of scones, cookies, cinnamon bun, etc. Yes, they had pain aux raisins, some pain au chocolat, plain croissants, and jambon croissant. They also had sandwiches-- some served on crispy French baguette and others served on wheat bread. The worker was kind. I ordered their tuna sandwich and she asked me "if there were any in the front?" I said "No, just turkey." And she replied that "it was okay and they would make it fresh for me." That was nice. But then the total for the sandwich was $15. I was shocked because it was more expensive than a turkey club at Board & Brew. What am I paying such a steep price for? I thought that maybe I'll get bang for my buck -- yeah right. The tuna sandwich was the most pathetic sandwich I laid eyes on and tasted. The description said there was tuna, rémoulade, cheese (can't remember exact one), arugula, balsamic on wheat bread. This sandwich was more arugula and balsamic than ANYTHING. I can still taste the bitterness. The size of the tuna was shocking as it was only maybe a teaspoon amount on the bread, check the photo. There was no rémoulade aka mayonnaise based sauce with cornichons, herbs, and sometimes capers. I'm so disappointed and honestly pissed as well that I paid $15 for this. Now that I've cooled off a little I came back to give some feedback. Their food and pastry items need to have the prices written on the menu. So that there's no shock or surprise. If you run out of something, just tell the customer so that they can choose something else if they wish. Yeah, I don't mind paying a little extra if the quality is there. There was no quality here and there was very little quantity as well. If this is how your tuna sandwich recipe is written, re write it because it's straight robbery! They were ok the first time I tried Darshan Bakery, so if you want to-- go and eat some pastries and have your morning coffee/lattes. They are just ok, nothing extraordinary like some French bakeries. But heed my warning and do not order the sandwiches. They are 1000% not worth it!!

The sandwich tasted good and they gave a lot in the sandwich. You can choose the bread you want as well. I also grabbed a bag of chips. But these were all separate prices. Too bad there wasn't a special lunch price of sandwich, chips, and a drink. I guess they don't get many customers to make that a thing. I just came by again (December 20th, Saturday) and was informed that the deli portion wasn't open today sadly. So they aren't reliant on that aspect, they should have posted a sign outside to inform people. I just bought some chips for 2.99 -- which is not bad compared to grocery store prices but the bags are smaller and less is given as well so take that into account. At least they accept cash! And drinks are refrigerated so they are nice and cool and refreshing if you were to buy one.

Drinks within the liquor store are a bit pricey, but thats to be expected in Del Mar. I customized it with beef birria, homemade guacamole, and breakfast potatoes. It was perfectly crunchy on the outside with all the ingredients meshing perfectly on the inside. They also carry bottled Mexican Coca-Cola, which was exactly what I needed for a Sunday morning recovery (thanks Anthony Bourdain). The girlfriend is obsessed with their Clydesdale--a coffee they roast at their other location. It's espresso brewed over cinnamon and brown sugar, and honestly, it's life-changing if you've never tried it. With three locations around the San Diego area - Del Mar, La Jolla & Encinitas - You're sure to find not only one close to you, but your favorite location as well. This review is strictly based on my new favorite location - Del Mar. This location is situated in the Del Mar Plaza {be sure to poke around the bookstore, market and shops while you are here} - There is an attached parking garage {60 minutes free with an hourly charge occurring afterwards}, as well as plenty of street parking in and around Del Mar. The restaurant itself isn't huge and will most likely be busy when you arrive, but even if there is a wait, it won't be long & it will be more than worth the wait. Even with a bustling atmosphere, we were greeting as soon as we walked in by several team members and were able to scoop up a seat on the outside patio. The outdoor section provides the perfect backdrop to a wonderful breakfast / brunch, especially on a beautiful, sunny day in San Diego. We had such a pleasant experience with the team - Friendly, gave us the best recommendations and genuinely seemed so happy to be there & assist with the guests - Great customer service always helps to elevate the experience and we received this 10 fold. As for the menu, there is something here for everyone {both Breakfast & Lunch} - Fresh Bakery items, Pancake options galore, Eggs, Classic Breakfasts, Benedicts, Omelettes, Salads, Bowls, and Sandwiches. Drinks also come in a wide variety - Coffee, Kombucha, Cocktails, Mocktails, Juices, Beer, Wine & Bubbles. On our visit, we opted for Breakfast - The All American Breakfast for the Hubs {2 Over-Medium Eggs, Bacon, Cottage Potatoes, and Buttermilk Pancake {this was a sub for a House-Made Scone} & a Roasted Vegetable Scramble for me {Perfectly cooked Eggs with Asparagus, Mushrooms, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Cheddar & Brie - Served with Cottage Potatoes and a Side of Toast with Scrumptious Whipped Butter and the most Delicious Jam - I still think about this Butter & Jam combo}. The Cottage also has a killer homemade Hot Sauce - Put this on everything! Tip - You can make any Omelette into a Scramble or Frittata. I Can't wait to go back and explore each and every breakfast option! Allergy side note - Check out the website for an in-depth look at the menu allergen information, if needed. As someone with food allergies, this is the best site I've seen to dive into which menu items are safe to consume - Thank you Cottage!

Quick and easy! - PIZZA: thin crust, good - PRICE: very affordable - SERVICE: excellent and very friendly - AMBIANCE: block from the beach, small, but welcoming Pizza and beach vibes just go hand-and-hand. Both simple and fulfilling. They sell by the slice and they sell pies - more selection of pies over the glass casing for the slices. They also sell sandwiches and salads which I am excited to try next return. SPECIALITY OF THE DAY ($5) - cheese, pepperoni, mushroom, and garlic. As I've been told it's a staff favorite among the rotating flavors for speciality of the day. At first it tasted like a normal pepperoni pizza but then the garlic flavor really shines thru. The crust was "New York" style, thin and crispy... for me it had brittle edges! I find that thin crust pizza are just more fun to eat when on the go. HIGHLY RECOMMEND There are very few tables inside and out, however sometimes wiping your own table down may happen as people frequently so quickly that when one leaves another sits not leaving room for cleanup. Pet peeve, greasy marks on tables - be cautions that can be u friendly to clothes. I appreciate this space in the neighborhood and it appears so do many others!! Until the next review....

We started with cocktails, including the Prickly Lady, which was watery and completely tasteless. I then ordered the trio of dips, which were equally underwhelming--nothing memorable or distinctive, and no better than what you could buy at Trader Joe's or throw together in a blender in a couple of minutes. While we were trying our best to enjoy the drinks and appetizers, we also couldn't help but notice the very blah ambiance around us. It was quiet, cold, and insincere. There was truly nothing charming about the place and the whole vibe felt off. That should have been our first red flag, but we tried to ignore it to make the most of our rare date night. For my entrée, I ordered the branzino piccata. This was especially disappointing because branzino is one of my favorite dishes, and when you commit to a whole fish, there's no turning back. While I'm used to navigating bones, I found a bone in nearly every other bite, which made the dish unpleasant to eat. Worse, the fish itself was incredibly dry and completely lacking in flavor, accompanied by nothing more than a few warm cherry tomatoes. There was no cohesive sauce or flavor profile to speak of. Dessert followed the same theme. The s'mores cake was also dry, with a barely-there chocolate ganache center and a marshmallow topping that was honestly laughable. Unfortunately, the food wasn't even the worst part of the evening. At the end of the meal, we were told we could not use a gift card despite having called 24 hours in advance to confirm it would be accepted when we made our reservation. This led to an interaction with the owner and chef that was shocking and completely unprofessional. He caused a scene, raised his voice, and yelled at my husband and me, the paying customers. He repeatedly cut me off mid-sentence while allowing my husband to finish speaking, which felt blatantly disrespectful. When I calmly asked if there was anything he could do for us, given that he's in the hospitality business, his response was simply: "No. You can pay the whole bill and leave." I have truly never been treated this way at any restaurant in my life. Between the consistently dry, flavorless food and the hostile, misogynistic behavior from the owner, I am genuinely shocked this place is still in business. Sadly, the restaurant seems to be run exactly the way the food is cooked--poorly.
