I came here on a Thursday around 11 AM, and street parking can be pretty challenging. A lot of the parking in the area has a 15-minute time limit, so definitely keep that in mind. When you walk in, you head to the register to place your order. There's plenty of outdoor seating available, although the place was pretty packed for a Thursday morning. I ordered the: *Croissant Breakfast Sandwich: I substituted the turkey for bacon. The chipotle aioli was phenomenal and honestly made the sandwich. You could easily split this between two people, but it's so good that you probably won't want to! You can choose between fruit or potatoes, and I went with the potatoes. Overall, the meal was phenomenal. This is definitely a cute spot with a great atmosphere. They also have a complimentary water station. The menu has so many great options that it was honestly challenging to decide what to order. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming. I was surprised and disappointed the description didn't say the eggs, potatoes, bacon and cheese are all cooked together and the avocado is on top or a photo showing the execution of this dish. The avocado was fresh and looked fantastic. I like to eat my protein first and that was a challenge. The bacon that was in my scramble was chewy and I spit out several pieces. My friend brought me here for lunch. Parking was a nightmare around Del Mar so plan accordingly. Luckily we went for an early lunch but it still took us almost half an hour driving around before we found an open parking spot a few blocks away. There was a line to order about 10 people deep when we arrived at this cute restaurant in what was once an old home. Seating is all outside in the front patio. We had 4 people in our group and we had to wait a bit to find a table to accommodate our group so not an ideal place for groups larger than 4. Food was ok. I just think the lack of parking, slow moving order line, and lack of seating really wasn't worth the visit for the mediocre American fare. read more

First time checking out Stratford Court Cafe was on a Friday morning with my dog. I grabbed an acai bowl. It definitely hit the mark, though it was not the most memorable one I have had. That said, the service was great, the ambiance is really cool, and there is plenty of seating which made it a nice spot to hang out for a bit which is why I wanted to return. It's on a quiet side street and was really inviting. I came back again on a Saturday around 1pm, for lunch and it was a beautiful, busy afternoon. We managed to snag the last shaded table, which felt like a win. I ordered the Avocado BLT. It was really good overall. Simple, fresh ingredients, though I think it could have been even better with an extra flavorful spread. The pasta salad on the side was super fresh and honestly delicious. I also loved the tangerine juice. The prices are pretty high, but that's to be expected in a Del Mar. Big bonus points for the free iced tea by the water station. Such a nice touch. This cute little house-turned-restaurant is just off the main road and around the corner from L'Auberge. It's a great place to walk to for breakfast if in the area. We are regulars of the burritos and açaí bowls so can't speak to anything else. Probably one of the best restaurant-style breakfast burritos in the area because the ingredients taste fresh and are seasoned well. I got the Avocado BLT, $15.50. The sandwiches came with some pasta as well. I wouldn't say that it is pesto pasta as it was very acidic and tasted more like cilantro or parsley. Maybe some garlic too, I'm not a fan of that. If I had known it came with this, I would have asked for without it. I feel like it's a waste of money since I'm not a fan of these flavors. The multigrain bread is very seedy and dry. It breaks apart easily in my hand as I take bites of the sandwich. It desperately needs moisture, I wish they put the mayo on the bread rather than where the tomatoes are. I also wonder if they salt their bacon since it's quite salty. Luckily the avocado helps to balance that out. It's not for me that's for sure. Too healthy and pricey, I guess. If I'm alone, I probably wouldn't come again. Luckily, I snagged spot a short walk down the street. How this place works is that you order at the counter, and the seating is outside. There is nice foliage and tables scattered around the courtyard. I was able to find a nice table in the back. My brothers arrived shortly afterward. They both had oatmeal, and I had the breakfast burrito, which was tasty, and, to my pleasure, the fruit that accompanied it was pineapple and melon. The staff is nice. When we arrived, the bathroom was out of order, which was a bummer as I had just driven from Orange County. The other brother lives in downtown, and also needed to go. We ended up having to walk down the main drag, looking for a restroom. Fortunately, the bathroom was repaired before we left. I would come again. read more

The croissant sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. It included crispy bacon just as I like, creamy eggs, melted cheese, avocado, micro-greens, and chipotle aioli for a little kick. There isn't any designated parking so you'll need to find a spot in the neighborhood infront of some very beautiful homes. We tried a few of their breakfast sandwiches, wraps, and egg benedict which come with a side of fruit of their homemade cilantro pasta salad. Nothing about their sandwiches stood out, but the pasta salad was decent...I like how it resembled more of a light pesto pasta salad than a mayo-based pasta salad. Overall, I'd recommend Stratford for the chill vibes and homey aesthetic, but less for the food. Definitely a great option if you're hungry for brunch near Del Mar beach! read more
