Such a cute place, in a cool little area of Santa Barbara. Spacious and airy and well decorated. We just got our coffee to go, as we were in a hurry and needed to catch a train back home, but I would have liked to sit down and enjoy this place. Everyone I was with liked what they got. Cute coffee shop in the heart of the funk zone, now share with xosantabarbara. The decor is cute the the drinks are delicious. The baristas take great pride in making drinks for order. The staff is friendly and prompt, however, expect lines on the weekends. Their chai latte with oat milk is flavorful and has the perfect chai flavor ratio and do not leave with the sensation of paying 6 dollars for a watered down latte! There are pockets of crowded times and I managed to not hit it and the crowd came after. Got their lavender latte iced and a chocolate croissant. Both were delicious and hit the spot. The croissant is nice and flaky with a bite of dark chocolate. The lavender latte was smooth and they don't charge for alternative milk! This coffee shop shares space with a restaurant. The coffee shop was busy. If I were in college then I could see myself spending a lot of time there. I tried the Beach Brew. I wasn't accounting for the salt in the drink changing the flavor of the coffee so much, and it made the drink kind of oddly flavored. HOWEVER, my daughter got an iced vanilla latte and that was delicious. The ice in the drinks was really good, if you're into specific types of ice. It was block ice and it paired nicely with the drinks. I really liked the garden areas to sit outside. It was a really cute experience, and it had parking--which was a plus. I am completely shocked that I have yet to review Dart Coffee Company. No matter what I have to say about the coffee or service, I would have to automatically give them five stars simply due to no additional charge for alternative milks. Yes, oat and almond milks are free/included in the price! Woohoo! They even have a carafe next to the creamers of oat milk. Fortunately, they do so many things right that five stars is what they deserve. I do enjoy their various lattes: Lavender latte (or as they call it, a June Bug), Churro Cortado or Mexican Mocha (AKA Eloisa). All of their lattes I've had here were enjoyable. Not too sweet, strong, acidic, or watered down. Just about right. Goldilocks would be pleased. If you prefer to be outdoors, they have a beautiful, quaint garden seating across Yanonali Street. Even wi-fi is available there. The one constructive feedback I have for Dart to be consistent about where they deliver the drinks. Sometimes it's through the circular window to outside. Other times it's at the far end of the counter. Occasionally it's at the cash register. Baristas, simply tell me where I can stand to get my coffee. P/S: Can coffee shops in Santa Barbara learn that there are many creative business names that don't begin with the letter D and are four letters (Dart, Dune, Dean... Barely any line on a thursday at 10, ordered a churro iced latte with whole milk thats perfection, & a nitro cold brew with vanilla that I added some cream to, it was a little bitter. My friend and I had a caffeine craving and decided to check out a spot we have not been to yet. We landed on Dart Coffees and we are so glad we did! The service was amazing and our barista walked us through any questions we had about the drinks. They even told us how their community garden is used to make in house syrups! I went with a Beach Brew Cold Brew which was fantastic! It was a cold brew with your choice of milk, I went Oat, and has sugar and sea salt in it. It was pure perfection and a drink to enjoy while walking the funk zone to the beach down the road. The ambiance was fantastic and really aesthetically pleasing! If you want a fantastic open place with a buzz of people enjoying their day then this is the place for you. Seating was limited and since it's connected to another place can be hard to get at busy times. Parking is also limited, as is all of Santa Barbara, so do keep that in mind when going! I didn't get to try the food, but everything looked absolutely scrumptious. I cannot wait to go back and try the Churro Cortado and really soak in the place. The vanilla latte was absolutely delicious and honestly some of the best coffee I've had in SoCal! I really really wanted to like it here and after seeing it on social media and walking up to a longggg line on a Saturday morning after driving up from LA, I had high hopes. Definitely think this spot is overhyped and not worth it. I got a Matcha Latte with oat and there was very little matcha powder, the color was so pale and far from strong enough. I see some photos on yelp are much darker shade of green than what I received, so it seems it's inconsistent. We also got a churro latte and it was all cinnamon and kind of watery. I get that coffee shouldn't be overly sugary and it's a local cafe not a chain like starbucks, but this literally just tasted like a coffee with water, a splash of milk and a bunch of cinnamon powder, if you're going to call something a churro it should be slightly sweet? This coffee drink was so bad that I really regretted even coming in. In fact, I considered going to Starbucks afterwards, which I hate Starbucks. Certain that it wasn't just my drink. Absolutely delicious! The almond croissant was so yummy I went back before heading home. So glad I came in when I did because I got the last one. Line gets long but our coffee order came out pretty fast. We ordered the June Bug Lavender Latte, Matcha Sunrise, Vanilla Latte and the Breakfast empanada. All drinks were made with perfection. The empanada was tasteful and the crust was perfectly crisped. The inside is so cutely decorated. There's some seats and tables but both times I came in they were all taken. Charming interior with lots of paper lanterns on the ceiling, and casual seating outside at various picnic tables. I love the look and feel of Dart Coffee and their shared space with Tyger Tyger. The room is very whimsical. We got the Beach Brew iced coffee and Corena Churro Cortada which were both excellent. One criticism I have is that there are no descriptions on the menu. The cashier was very sweet but I have to imagine explaining every item while a line forms would be... awkward. Iced churro latte had the cinnamon and brown sugar alluding to churros but I would rather have a real churro with a regular coffee. Shop has beautiful ceiling lanterns above a wide counter facing the street to get that outdoor inside feel. Coffee itself was good and a medium roast acceptable to most palettes.
