But rightly so, considering no other options were open in the area. Even though it was busy, they greeted everyone and addressed their issues. We did have a short wait but considering the amount of people, I didn't feel like we had an extended wait time. He didn't even ask me to get my out my car when he changed my tire. the first time i went to these guys . they were cool with prices. so i decided to give them a shot . 1. after my first tire replacement . i've seen a scratch mark on my rims (i never drive or park close to anything) so i ignored it ! 2. today i went back and got another tire. they quoted me $90 (cash) funny thing is i have them $100 bill . they had no changed , so i have to use my card which made my total $99.41 then when i got home . i was pissed because here's another mark . probably from from their tire removal tool !!! read more

I came to this shop because my wheels had a vibration, and I was hoping a proper balance would solve the issue -- or at least I would be told if something was wrong with my tires or wheels. I paid for the balancing and TPMS installation. Several times I asked if everything was okay with my wheels and tires, and I was told everything was good. I drove away and the vibration was still there exactly the same. The next day, I went to another tire shop -- and they literally laughed and asked if no one had mentioned the obvious problem: my rear wheel was badly bent. This is something that is clearly visible during balancing. They told me there is no way the technician here didn't see it -- they just chose not to mention it because there was a line of customers waiting. As a result, I had to pay again to replace the wheel and the tire. Only after that did the vibration finally go away. Additionally, the inside tread on my tire was completely bald -- and again, nobody here said a single word. They just mounted it and told me everything was "good" and asked me to pay. Very dishonest service and a complete lack of care for the customer's safety. Absolutely would not recommend. read more

Don't buy used tires from here. I did not gladly because I know my knowledge on tires. They tried to sell me some used tires $60 each and they were bald and you can see the bar and the tread about too meet and they tried to sell me on some other tires that were $80 each and the the bead had a tear where you can see the wiring with no warranty they were trying to risk a blowout I even told him I had $60 $80 and they still try to sell me on some tires I couldn't even afford read more

Popped my tire on a Sunday afternoon and was so lucky that Darwin's was open! I was able to get my tire changed pretty quickly and it only costed $60. Some of us can't afford to just always "buy new" when life throws us curve balls, but Darwin helps us get back on the road and keep driving safely when our wallets are thin. They have always been super fast, polite, and honest over the past 7+ years whenever I've needed their help For example: One of my tires blew-out on my morning commute to work, causing me to lose control of my SUV which ended up sliding sideways down I-90 at 70mph in the mountains near Snoqualmie. No bueno This ripped the tires off both rims on the drivers side, and then proceeded to chew up the metal of both wheels so badly that they were utterly destroyed. This is my commuter with 212k miles on her- so spending a lot of money on tires & wheels would be silly. I was able to buy two matching rims from a junk yard, then went into Darwin. Wasn't sure if the old tires were damaged, but thought that if they were that Darwin would have some decent used ones. Long story short, the old tires (that got pulled off the old rims while I crashed) were amazingly just fine and the guys at Darwin were able to mount them on the new(er) rims lickedy-split! Only charged me $12 and had me back on the road in 15 min?!? Woo-hoo! That was almost 3 years (and over 25k miles) ago, and the tires & rims are still going strong! THANK YOU Darwin!!! read more

Came to get a flat tire fixed and also provided the new tire for them. Watched them bang and bang my rim for 20minutes and then the give me my rim back all scratched up and was like we can't do it for you and I said you can't ruin my rim and the. Be like here take this back so They both acted like they didn't know what I was saying so I asked for management and they said management will be here soon I waited another 20-30 minutes and then I asked for management again they said oh management won't be here today. So 80 minutes wasted and all I got was a scratched up rim and 2 guys pretending to not speak English. I've been going here on and off for years and have personally recommended this shop to many people over the years. Today I called and inquired about two used tires. They quoted me $30 per each used tire. So I drive straight to the shop, I even let them know I had just called. The employee puts the two used tires on my vehicle and then says my bill is $100.00! Really $100.00 for two used tires? I've never paid more than the $30 per tire. When I ask him why the fee is now $100.00 and not the $30.00 as I was quoted, he informs me that it is for "everything". Implying he was charging me for placing the tires on my vehicle. I've never been charged extra before. He then says "okay you can just give me $90.00". I handed him the $100.00 bill and told him $10.00 made no difference when I was lied to and deceived. I will NEVER go back here again and if your a female I suggest you stay away from this place because they will try and rip you off. I can't afford to be ripped off and I don't think you should be either. I am also making a former complaint with the City of Renton. They need to know this business is now corrupt. read more

I called early last morning because after being out of town we found our car with a flat tire and we had no idea what had happened to it, Jose gave us the service to come to our house to get the tire and bring it back to the shop to get it checked, they could find anything wrong with it so he just put air on it and installed it back, since nothing was wrong with it HE DIDN'T WANT TO CHARGE US FOR THE SERVICE!!....Of course we thought that was abusive from us because he drove to get it and checked it so we asked to be charged like the tire was actually fixed because practically it was completely functioning again. I told the guy the deal, planned to just leave the wheel and go back and wait with my trailer. He told me, " hang on I'll have it done quick." I came to Darwin's tire shop looking for 2 used tires. I got 2 for $100 I wanted to pay with my credit card and they told me the machine wasn't working and that I would have to pay cash. I went to the bank and gave them cash. They wouldn't give me a receipt and from this I take it that they don't charge sales tax and cheat the state. The next day I was in Bellevue with my family doing some shopping and noticed my front right tire flat. Seems to me they sold me a defective tire. I didn't even bother going back to them. I went to discount tire in Renton on 4th st (what I should have done from the beginning) and purchased 4 new tires for $386 out the door. Darwin's tire shop is a joke and they have their walls plastered with naked woman, don't even bother taking your family there. Discount tire is the place to go, 40k miles warranty, new tires, free damage protection replacement, Free lifetime spin balance and rotation. All for $380 for my car. Beware of this place...
