This place deserves all the star hype. Especially if you're female, these guys won't try to d*ck you around nor do they sit there and gawk at you like your meat. Not much I can say about this place other than the service was 5 star. I usually have a reliable mechanic that I can go to when ever I am having car issues but he was away. So I decided to ask Yelp for help. Out of all the responses I got, DAS auto service stood out as the next best mechanic I can go to. Yelp reviews are all mostly 5 stars which made my decision very easy. Reson for my visit: Oil Change I made an appointment for 11am came in around 10:35 and was greeted by the front end staff, who was very friendly and made my visit that much better. He made sure that my vechicle had priority. Long story short I was out of that place by 11:05. Service was excellent and location can be a little tricky if you are a first timer. These guys are incredible. I couldn't wait to get home and write them a review. Our Audi Q7 needed new brakes. I called the dealership and they said (without looking at the car) it would need new brake pads and rotors. They quoted me $2700. We called Das and they quoted us close to half of that. When we brought our car in they called and said the back brakes were nearly new, the front brake pads only needed replacing, and the rotors were fine. Their honest work allowed us to spend about 15% of the quote from the dealership. Not only that-- when we dropped off the car I mentioned my son had dropped a marble in a vent under the seat. It rolled around constantly. I asked if they could just take a look and give us a quote. The dealership said they would have to take off the seat of the car, the flooring, it would take a few days, and several thousand dollars. It felt like they were trying to upsell us but they made the problem seem pretty involved. After my husband paid he came back to the car and tossed me the marble. I couldn't believe it!! They were able to get the marble out and change the brake pads in a few hours on a Saturday. They didn't even charge us for retrieving the marble. So long as we are in the area, I will never trust my car in other hands. (Certainly not the dealership's!) They we're so kind and happy. Called us several times to update and let us know cost. DISHONEST mechanics! ** Do not take your car here. ** This is an overdue revue. I brought my car here a year ago to have the oil changed and the brake fluid changed. I have a Honda CRV. I usually take it to my mechanic in SF, but he was out of the country, so I saw DAS on YELP with good reviews! I also take my car to Honda Serramonte for maintenance. I told DAS to change my engine oil and also change the brake fluid, since it was recommended by Honda Serramonte, but of course the dealership charges more $. So, I pick up my car, paid for the oil change and brake fluid change. * They also told me my rotors were bad and needed replacement. I said I would do it next time since it was an expensive repair. Anyway, when my regular mechanic got back from vacation, I told him my rotors needed to be changed. He checked it and said there's nothing wrong with my rotors. When I took my car to Honda Serramonte for the next oil change, they said I needed to have the brake fluid changed..and I told them, but I had it changed Just a few months ago.. they showed me how dirty the fluid was and I was surprised! Honda Serramonte also to,d me there was nothing wrong with my rotors!! So I took my car back to DAS, they saw the brake fluid was dirty and apologized , and changed my brake fluid. So they were trying to get away with charging me with the service even though they did not do it! They were also dishonest about my rotors!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I TAKE MY CAR HERE!!! I think just because I am an Asian woman, they wanted to trick me! They are NOT TRUSTWORTHY!!! read more

I'm not much of a Yelp guy but I really can't say enough good things about these folks. My wife has been getting her nice car taken care of with DAS after she read good reviews and they've always been incredibly friendly, straightforward and HONEST! They've always given her all the options, provided good estimates, not tried to do unneeded repairs, and given fair pricing. She's appreciates the great service. I have to tell you that I've always done most of my own mx and am always reluctant to take my car to a shop. On Monday I heard a very bad noise that I thought was coming from my suspension/drive axle of my relatively new car and immediately saw dollar signs. I knew this wasn't a shade-tree job and I didn't want to risk driving it much further so I called my wife's trusty guys. Quan said to bring it right in and he'd have a look at it as soon as possible. They looked pretty busy so I figured it would be a few days. Nope got it back today! Luckily it was a much better diagnosis than I feared but they were thorough and checked everything out and took care of the issue right on the spot. TL;DR - Synthetic oil change for a Toyota Prius is $65. :) I have a Toyota Prius, which requires a synthetic oil change. I called at 4pm on a Friday but they close at 5pm! I couldn't get it same day - but it was only because I called so late. The guy was very nice on the phone and said that he can write my name down to come in the next day. Saturdays are open for walk-ins, and they can get very busy! They open at 8:30am, and I got there at 9am. I luckily got there before it got busy and it took ~45 mins from start to finish (paying). That was great, I definitely recommend coming early if you don't have an appointment. read more

I've been looking around for a reputable shop to tackle my timing belt job for my 01 legacy and DAS happened to be a lot cheaper than most quotes, so I bit the bullet and decided to take it in today (3/18/21) so upon arrival everything seemed great! The shop was busy and fully staffed and I was helped right away! I talked to the service writer and brought up that I was messaging someone already and was given a quote for $850 OTD. The person actually checked in with the person who gave me the quote and verified it was $850 and so we were ready to go. The service writer asked for my keys and then just asked a few questions. While all this is going on I'm still basically waiting for a repair order to be printed with the work explained and a quote, basically FORMAL PAPERWORK TO SIGN! Nothing! So I guess it's just they gave me their "word" and they basically said they would call IF something came up or when it's done. At 2:23 pm I receive a call from the service writer explaining that one of the bolts to mount the water pump is stripped! He explained that they would have to charge an ADDITIONAL $250 because the block is aluminum and that they would have to repair the thread using a sert which obviously made sense and was the way to go but the fact that this all happened and NOW I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO PAY $250 OR LIKE THE SERVICE WRITER SAID, "you don't have to do it but your car won't run" he also said " this is THE ONLY other solution or we have to replace the engine" SO BASICALLY IM SCREWED! I tell him go ahead and proceed and he explains that they'll need more time but it should be able to be done by today. Its currently 5:59 pm as I'm writing this and I STILL HAVENT RECEIVED ANY UPDATES NOT EVEN TO TELL ME ITS NOT READY! At this point I'm expecting the worse like my car will probably need an engine or I'll get another ADDITIONAL CHARGE! I wanted to like this place so much but some things are too good to be true sometimes! I just wish I did a bit more research than just going with the cheapest quote! I guess you get what you pay for hopefully they don't retaliate and damage my car even further before I even pick it up! read more

These guys have great service! I went in to have my window motor repaired so I could finally use my window again. I tried another spot in the area first, but they told me they were full and that I'd have to make an appointment and come back in a couple days, so I decided to give DAS a try. I rolled into their shop around 1 pm and was told they'd have it fixed the same day, by 4 pm at the latest. I was pretty impressed with the quick turnaround and happily paid $285 for the service. I picked up my car later that afternoon and the window worked beautifully. I did notice some two cracks around my door handle that weren't there before, but since I could open my door okay, I ignored it. Fast forward 2.5 weeks, I realized that the cracks in my door handle were getting worse. Finally it broke to the point where I could have pulled out the handle completely if I wasn't careful, and I knew it was time to get it fixed. I reached back out to DAS and told them the problem, explaining that they were the ones who broke my door handle to begin with when fixing my window motor. They immediately looked up my previous order, pulled up my car information, and told me they'd order a new handle for me, all over the phone. I didn't even have to bring my car in again! Within a couple days, they let me know that the new part had arrived. I brought my car in and they replaced the handle super quickly, in 10-15 minutes. And the part I appreciated most was that they didn't charge me for anything the second time around. It was their fault that my door handle was broken, and they properly took responsibility for it and helped me fix it. He assured me I wouldn't be hassled or coaxed into paying more than I needed to. Since I know so little about cars and the mechanics, it's pretty easy to run game on me. I was greeted by Joe who made me feel like I was in "the right hands" and explained what he would be doing. After diagnostic test we found the problem.
