I attend my Aunts 80 th birthday held at Das Biergarten on Saturday 5/30. The owner greeted us at the door and helped us get set up. The beer selection was german and of course great. We had chafing dishes full of Potato pancakes, Bratwurst and Knockwurst with sauerkraut( with caraway seeds, great touch and adds an amazing taste) for the non believers ,we had buffalo wings and chicken fingers. I've been here a few times while visiting my friend in Long Island. We've gone here before, so I figured I'd give my take on it. Home of das boot! I didn't actually get it but wished someone did. Loved the energy of the staff and all the decor. Seating inside and outside. This place is great for families or just a night out with friends. The customers at the bar were having a great time with the jukebox. Don't know if it's actually called that anymore. Machine that plays music is best way to describe it. The food was amazing. This was only my second time at a German restaurant. First time I made the mistake of getting a giant array of sausage. I was smart enough this time to not eat too heavy. I went with das schnitzel sandwich. I was recently introduced to fried pork cutlets. On a pretzel bread seems like a no-brainer. I turned out to be right. Fried perfectly, tons of flavor. Their french fries for a nice bonus. Very crispy and delicious. I was also able to sample some of my wife's plate of jagerschnitzel. It was basically what I got, but with a delicious mushroom gravy sauce. It also came with a side of spatzle. Great experience. Can't wait to go visit the in-laws and come back here. If you aren't eating at Das Biergarten, you are truly doing yourself a disservice. Besides the amazing, personable staff, everything on the menu is 10/10. But the lobster roll in the summer is the STAR of the show. You wouldn't think of a German restaurant to have a lobster roll like this but DAMN, they sure do. What a great time!!!!! Came last night with a large party and had a great experience! The bartender, waitress, food - 5 stars!!!! The burger I had, probably one of the best burgers I've ever had!!!! Where do I begin?! I'd had the pleasure of being hosted my Sam my two times here (can't wait to come back!) All the servers engage you in friendly convo and are truly the epitome of the hospitality business. We had the gulash soup, the kaesespaetzle are fantastic , very very original "Muenchner Art" Bavarian style as they should be . The selection of beers is outstanding. I even saw German original brandy Ashach Uralt which I'm going to try next time . Fantastic find close to my parents in Atlantic Beach. Das Biergarten has a fun, laid back atmosphere with impressive beer/cocktail and food menus. I ordered the Jägerschnitzel: giant pork cutlet fried to perfection, topped with a rich bacon mushroom gravy. It was accompanied by sides of spätzle and apple red cabbage. Every bite was delicious! Fantastic afternoon at Das Biergarten today. Since Lots of Octoberfest celebrations are cancelled this year we took the chance to meet up with some friend for some pre Octoberfest celebration at Long Beach. Yikes... I am not one to usually leave negative reviews, but am extremely disappointed with the management here and will not be returning. I went to Das Biergarten a few weeks ago and it was fine. I expected it to be a bit more crowded on a Sunday during "Oktoberfest" but the relaxed vibe was ok for us too. I was a little disappointed at the limited beer selection at a Biergarten, but we ordered some pumpkin beers which were decent. I also ordered a cider which they added ice to, which I thought was strange but drank it anyway. I still had a fun time with my friends and would have given it a few stars if reviewed right after my visit. Unfortunately today it was brought to my attention that the owner habitually posts and comments aggressively on social media regarding his political views, which, while well within his rights, specifically target paying customers who are not willing to vote the way he would like. Pretty cool brew house and german restaurant located allllll the way on the westend of long beach. Been here a few times and always have a nice time. Beer selection is basically all german beers which is fine by me. They offer a variety of stine/pint sizes. Beer prices are average for a beer hall. Food wise id say its pretty decent. Only have gotten apps but everything we have tried has been good. The pretzel and the sampler were great. Cheese dipping sauce is bomb. Atmosphere is cool. All the tables are long wooden picnic tables and the place is dressed up like a german beer garden/hall. Service was great. Both the bartender and waitress were very nice and helpful. My ancestors would be displeased with me for taking this long to check out das Biergarten. This place is legit and I am glad I finally stopped in. Classic Biergarten feel: long hardwood tables with communal seating, steins galore, plenty of Bavarian-style checkering (light blue and white), and a healthy smattering of authentic German beers. They apparently really like the Rangers (it is okay, I forgive you). The best part? Authentic German cuisine done right. Really hard to find a place that can make a perfect potato pancake: das Biergarten is one of them. Perfect amount of crispiness on the outside but still tender on the inside. Seasoning was perfect (even better with the apple sauce). You can tell these were fried up fresh by someone who knew what they were doing. Same quality with the pretzel. Nice crispy, blistered outside and soft, chewy inside. Oh and its huge. Comes with brown mustard and beer cheese -- both were fantastic. They have all the major seasonal styles covered when it comes to beer. Went with a Paulaner Märzen(Oktoberfest). Nice maltiness and very smooth. We had made this one of our go-to places, as we supported local businesses and takeout fairly heavily through the pandemic. but we will not be spending money here any longer. Let me preface this review with saying I was the girl who's Myspace profile indicated I "walked a German dog and drove a German car" back in the day. About a year ago, I purchased a groupon for Das Biergarten and had to drag my boyfriend down to Long Beach before it expired. This place is on the veryy west end of Long Beach, however, has a parking lot - JACKPOT! We walked in and the second my boyfriend realized it was a NY Rangers bar he was immediately sold. There is a very open dining area with long classic wooden picnic tables and benches, a ceiling lined with skylights, super friendly and helpful barstaff. We had two HUGE delicious beers in Das boots and two HUGE pretzels. We decided we had to come back. Fast forward to present day, we now live in Long Beach (not 100% due to Das Biergarten, but definitely was a huge PRO) and have returned. I love the grapefruit beer but it can be a bit much.. mixed it with the wheat beer (illegal?) and thought it was perfect. Get the pretzel so soft on the inside and comes with beer cheese and mustard! If you're coming to this biergarten in East Atlantic Beach to meet up with some friends over a couple beers and maybe a German pretzel, then great, this festive spot with (added bonus) its own parking lot will be a perfect spot to meet up. However, come looking for a nice German meal, well, nicht gut. Nice selection of German beers on tap but the food is just below average. Sauerbraten was shoe leather and under marinated with a bland gravy and schnitzel was too thin and a tad greasy. Potato salad and cabbage on the side were good and that's about it. I went with 5 other friends for 2 of our friends birthdays. We had a good time playing jenga over drinks and music. There was a rowdy group of guys by the door which was fine they were having fun. Now for the food...my boyfriend and I weren't too hungry so we split a pretzel and potato pancakes. They were both really good. Everyone else mainly got like big dishes with spazel and meat. The reason for 3 stars is, when we left my boyfriend told me he walked past the kitchen and it looked disgusting in there which made me want to gag up the food I just ate lol. Finding a restaurant that your cranky 71 year old (but amazing) father likes in a town that he has to "travel" to (I live 30 mins from him) is easier said than done, but after taking my pops to Das Biergarten, he couldn't stop singing this spot's praises. I come to Das as much as I can-- It's a clean, aesthetically pleasing restaurant at the end of Beech Street on the borderline of East Atlantic Beach and Long Beach. The inside is super fun--a large bar with clean taps that deliver the freshest beer. I love the murals and picnic table style seating, which gives you a feeling that you're outside on a lovely spring afternoon (I feel like you should remember this next time you're hungry on a bone chilling Saturday in January!). The waitstaff is beyond courteous and attentive (sometime's they'll wear authentic cute outfits---can you get better than that? yes, you can! read on!) The food is fresh, made to order. I usually stay classic and order my usual classic bratwurst. Family and friends have ordered every from the Das Pretzel (maybe not great for bikini season, but tasty to soak up that tall beer you're going to def have two of!) to the entrees (jagerschnitzel) to the soups and salads (I also love the cucumber salad as an option with the sammies). All my peeps have been happy and content with their meals. My picky parents can't stop talking about the potato salad, which the awesome owner said was a family recipe. I'd like to mention that the owner is very personable and goes above and beyond to make sure his guests are comfortable. This means a lot. Das is the one place in Long Beach/EAB that my family is happy to visit over and over again (so much so that I get them a gift card when the holidays roll around). Das Biergarten is without a doubt one of my favorite restaurant/bars on LI. The beer selection is focused on German beers, which adds to the authenticity the only issue I had was with the IPA, which isn't the "traditional" American IPA. But honestly that's alright - it's not really a German beer style anyway. My favorite beer is the combo of 1/2 Grapefruit beer and 1/2 Pilsner. Thank me later. As for the food, everything is delicious. I've had the fish schnitzel sandwich and the lobster roll. Both were perfectly cooked and excellent. The warm potato salad and sauerkraut are also fantastic. There are some cuisines best left to the pros. I'd argue German is one of them. Went here Sunday after brunch. Staff (our server was Valerie) is extremely accommodating without being intrusive. Always a plus! Ordered the Best/Wurst platter, potato pancakes, burger, schnitzel, schnitzel sandwich, two desserts. You know when you're full but just can't seem to stop stuffing your face? Definitely the situation here at the Biergarten. I would dig in on a STACK of the pork schnitzel - it's paper thin, perfectly crisp, and obviously quite fresh. Would legitimately order the entire meal all over again, but I'm intrigued by their brunch offerings (if you make it before 2:30, there's a patty melt that sounds epic as well as a sandwich crafted with a Dough Hut confection.
