The brisket is amazingly tender and moist. The potato was smothered in cheese, onions, jalapeños and bacon. Yum. The bbq sauces are very tasty. I had the tangy sauce which had a kick to it. My husband had the pork tenderloin sandwich. The pork was hand prepped and breaded and very good. The Sidewinder fries are the BEST in Indy area - hands down and the portion is generous. Everyone was stealing his fries. My granddaughter had the Kid's pork bbq slider with Mac and cheese. She also devoured a corn muffin. She loved her meal. Others had the Pork Bbq sandwich combo with backed beans. The beans are freshly prepared and crave worthy. Pork sandwiches had a generous amount of moist pulled pork. We ordered at the counter and food is prepared fresh so there's a bit of a wait during dinner hour. About half people get their food to go. Prices are reasonable - especially desserts. The dining area is small - maybe five tables. Seating is tight. The patio area outside is nice if the Indiana weather cooperates. I love this place.

However, in planning the meal it had inadvertently been overlooked that Pizzology didn't open until 4pm. So, making a quick change of plans meant that we stopped in at Rackz almost directly in front of the Pizzology building. In case it's not obvious, this is a BBQ joint. There's accessible parking, an appropriate curb-cut, and the entryway is a pretty easy to maneuver one-sided glass door that is level to the ground. I found the interior to be a pretty good layout. There's also outside dining that's available when the weather is appropriate. The menu is consistent with most BBQ joints. Rackz offers both dinners (two sides and drink plus meat) or sandwich combos (only one side). The price range is generally in the $10-20 range, though they also offer some family-style options that go higher. So, we're talking BBQ, pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket, ribs, and there's even a breaded tenderloin sandwich. They also have a "veggie BBQ dinner." Don't ask me, but it's on the menu. Sides are creative ranging from sidewinder fries to potato salad, mac n' cheese, baked beans, glazed carrots (which I got the chance to try from a fellow diner - I really did like these), and a few other items. I was honestly very impressed with the menu. They also have kids meals and a couple of different Wick's Pies (the classic sugar cream and pecan). I opted for pulled chicken sandwich with sidewinder fries. As we know, I always get iced tea. I really wanted to go for the breaded tenderloin, but I had a full afternoon and that's a splurge for me. However, I was super happy with this meal and would easily order it again. Employees are friendly. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. Rackz also offers catering and they do have a rewards program. While this is a bit out of my way, I'd easily return when in the area.

The baba ganoush at Noor Cafe is great, and comes with warm pita slices, plus pickled vegetables on top. I was kinda more hungry than I thought, so I also ordered a falafel pita sandwich and a glass of Pinot Noir. The falafel pita comes with a lot of different vegetables and sauces, and is fresh and cool from the veg, but warm from the falafel and pita. It's also huge! This is something you could definitely split if you wanted to, or eat by yourself if you're especially hungry. I was a little taken aback by how small the dining room is at Noor Cafe. There are four tables, and one of them was filled with toys, which was adorable. Some kid came from out back to play with them, and I was reminded by the adage that the best Asian restaurants are those where some kid is playing or doing their homework in the dining room. I think that might be true! Noor Cafe is not Asian, because they offer Mediterranean food, but they're also not-not Asian because they also offer some Indian options (kaathi rolls, paneer). I mentioned that I got a glass of Pinot Noir here. Yes, they offer beer and wine! They served the red wine chilled, which is not ideal, but I'm willing to overlook that because the baba ganoush was so good.

The gentleman who helped us out was super friendly and helpful. When I mentioned some of the things I like, he suggested the gyros plate which comes with salad, rice, pita bread, and hummus. The hummus might be the best I've ever had. My SO had a beef shawarma sandwich with yellow rice. Delicious. Everything was delicious. I love the combination of flavors. The gyros meat was tender and amazing. For dessert, we had the best baklava ever. Seriously. The layers were perfect. It was sweetened perfectly. It was the first visit by my SO who was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the delicious taste and great service. I wish I lived closer to this place but am glad the great restaurant is still great after all these years.

I ordered the Conners BBQ Nachos, which are cuckoo. If you get them with everything on them, there will be so much stuff on top of the tortilla chips that you'll think you ordered a garbage plate. You get nacho cheese, your choice of meat (pork, chicken or brisket), sour cream, jalapeños, black olives, onions, bacon bits ... and also mac & cheese and baked beans. On top of the nachos! I was aghast. Luckily, you can get the mac & cheese and baked beans on the side, or not at all. The Conners BBQ Nachos are completely customizable, but I recommend getting the mac & cheese and baked beans on the side, because then it's like you got two mini sides for free. We also got the pulled pork sandwich with fries (yum) and the Flight of Sliders: four mini sliders with brisket, pork, sausage and chicken. There's nary a lettuce leaf or tomato slice in sight -- these are just meat-and-bun sandwiches. All of the food comes undressed, by the way. You add your own barbecue sauce from the bottles at your table. They have an original sauce, a sweet sauce and a spicy sauce. The spicy barbecue sauce is not at all spicy, it just has a little kick. They have a kids menu, with mini sliders, mac & cheese, and chicken tenders. Each come with a side, but the mac & cheese comes with two sides. My kid got the mini sliders, but ordered just one with a side of mac & cheese. He finished it all and probably could have eaten another slider, so if you have an older kid, or a kid with a big appetite, get two sliders. Big Dog's goes big in the ambiance department. There's a plethora of vintage ephemera all over the restaurant. It's a fun restaurant. Even the seating is wacky: You can sit at a table that looks like an old motorcycle, or a table that looks like you're sitting inside of a Ford truck. There's a pinball machine that you can play for a quarter, and an old juke box, and one of those singing fish in the men's bathroom. (This is what I was told.) There are all kinds of license plates and traffic signs and photos and knickknacks everywhere, especially Coca-Cola memorabilia. Big Dog's is a fun place to visit!
