My family and I went here for my sister graduation celebration on a Thursday during the day. It was pretty busy. We wanted to sit near the bar area in the game room but there were signs posted that guest had to order every 30 minutes in order to start seated. This was not cool. We decided to sit in the restaurant area. Which was not busy. Our server was nice and dependable. However the kitchen staff were taking short cuts making the meals and not all that we expected. I've been to this Dave & Buster's a few times for business events and maybe 2 or 3 times for personal outings. I only recall eating at the meetings so the food portion of my review is based upon those experiences.. The PROs -service appeared prompt -bowling alley was OK -salad served was prepared nicely The CONs -unless you arrive early, the parking lot is horrible -the continental breakfast was nasty (bagels were dry as hell and flavorless) -didn't provide any water with breakfast (why????) -the temperature in the meeting room was almost colder inside than it was outside on a winter's day (most of my co-workers had on their jackets the entire meeting...and we requested countless times for the staff to raise the temp!!) -skewered shrimp was very salty and hard to get off the skewer -the cookies served were hard, appeared almost burnt Overall, I'd never return here unless it was for a work event and had no choice. read more

Ok, I really hate to give one star to a place I've known and loved for over 2 decades but I have to. The new policy at Dave & Busters Arundel Mills is to charge its customers a 16% gratuity fee no matter the party size. Now for large parties I know that most restaurants tack on a gratuity and we all know that's because large groups usually suck when it comes to tipping but to tell me I have to tip for mediocre food and excruciatingly slow service when there's just me and a 4 year old at the table is just ridiculous. Now what really chapped my butt was this used car salesman masquerading as a manager lying to my face repeatedly. He started out by saying that they were doing this because "Every other restaurant was doing it". I don't know about you but that just makes me think back to mom and the classic "If everyone else jumped off a cliff would you?". So when I called the manager a liar he caved and went to "well my wait staff only makes $3.00 per hour" to which I again told him "I don't care, if they aren't getting tips either they suck or your food does and from my lunch I don't think they are the issue". I believe they are hurting as I usually don't see many people eating there and their busiest day is Wednesday when games are half price. I just will not go back, at least to this location, and think their GM should really think twice before she hires off the car lots again. read more

I came to Dave & Busters to have lunch with my son amd father and watch the Maryland Terps basketball game. We were greeted promptly by are superstar waitress "Demetria" who really was impressive. Me and family ate big guys who drink allot and eat even more. She was very attentive. She kept are glasses full and our food coming. I enjoyed the fire salmon that came out perfect. I am here regularly for corporate events, and they always do a great job supporting our groups of 20-25 people. We bowl, eat, and play games as a group. The staff are friendly, and handle any issues promptly and kindly. Emilio (Milo) sticks out as one of the most attentive and helpful team members at this location. He is not the only one- most everyone who has helped our groups over the last 18 months has been great. read more

If I had to rate the food alone, I'd give D&B's three stars. They offer some pretty basic fare similar to places like Applebee's and the 99, and the prices are about the same. When I visited at lunchtime last Sunday, the restaurant was offering $10 game cards with some of the meals, which added some value to the experience. The fried shrimp and fries plate I ordered was around $12 regularly but was $15 with the game card. Not a bad deal for an extra $3. My two cousins, who were my dining companions for the afternoon, agreed that their food was decent and the game cards were a nice add-on. None of us were impressed with the quality of the food, but nobody was disappointed. The reason why D&B's merits two stars is because the other side of the dining experience - the service - is lousy. When I came here, the restaurant was only about half full and there weren't any large parties. Even under these circumstances, we were waiting at our table for at least 10 minutes before someone came over to take our drink orders. We were starting to think the restaurant forgot about us . . . The waitress who finally came over to our table was polite but not overly nice. But wait, she doesn't have to be! Dave and Buster's adds a 16% tip to the bill regardless of how many people are in your party. They don't make this obvious, either; it's noted on a small sticker on the front of the menu. I feel like if a restaurant has to add a tip on the bill (excepting large parties, which is a normal practice), the service is generally not so great. The arcade was just OK. I'm not really into games. I did see that it was hard to flag someone down when a machine was broken, and the girl who collected the tickets for prizes clearly hated her job. 9/6/14 My friend was having a work going away bowling party here. My sister and I came to support my girl but we didn't bowl. By the time we made it there they were already half way through their bowling game. While they were bowling my sister and I decided to get some food since we were starving. The lane had a waiter but it was hard to get him unless you called him over. I get that the place is busy but if you want a great tip you need to do better with asking your rounds. After about 20 mins I decided to make my way to the bar to order our drinks and food. The bar was busy as well but the bartender did at least acknowledge me and that he would get to me soon. After taking care of the previously waiting patrons he got to me. I was able to place my drink order and food and pay after a brief 5 minute wait. Hugh was great. He made our drinks, got me waters and I had my food come out in the designated 10 mins that he stated. My sister got the strawberry watermelon margarita and I got the million dollar margarita! I love a good strong margarita and mine lived up to its name. I took a sip of my sisters and it was amazing too. I loved the strawberry flavored ice cubes the margarita was poured over. Really pretty drink. We ordered the buffalo bar chicks to split. It was a crispy chicken tenders tossed in our original wing sauce, topped with Bleu Cheese dressing, lettuce and tomatoes. Served on soft and buttery mini brioche buns with seasoned fries. This was so GOOD! The fries were cooked to perfection and the sandwiches were delicious!! Minus the tremendous wait it was worth it. Sat down by the bar near the games, had to flag down someone to help us with ordering food after waiting for about 15 minutes. The all you can eat wings for $20 is a good deal, but you can only get bbq or buffalo flavor. With the all you can eat wings it took almost an hour to get 3 orders to the table and you only get 6 wings at a time. The servers only checked in on the table maybe 2 times for the 1 1/2 duration were there. Had to flag other servers for help. I'll just go for the games next time and eat elsewhere. read more

Arundel Mills location is much more spread out - allowing more room between you and the driver/hunter/skeeballer next to you. The few current games that they do have don't work or need some serious maintenance. Example - Fruit Ninja. Hello?!? The fruit is life-size, yet the touch-screens never work. Fail. The bar tenders have zero charisma or personality. In fact, they looked pissed that I had the audacity to offer money for a drink. FYI: They automatically add 18% gratuity which I find to be super-whack. Guess it all makes sense though - why work for a tip and be nice to people if you don't have to? However, if there are children running around after 9 pm on a Friday and Saturday night...seriously? Great upgrade with great TVs to watch the game but....the management refused to change the channel to a game that was requested by many of the customers I the same section. We were all watching the Redskins vs Cowboys when they changed to a baseball game. When we asked our waitress if we could speak with the manager,he never came to our table. Went here for lunch and fun with the kids. Waited in the line for about 10mins to be told it was the wrong line. Went around to the dining area and was seated without a wait. Our waiter was on point. He brought the kids out in about 10mins or so, so no grumpy kids lol. I order the burger sliders with hot wings. The wings weren't hot at all. The slider had little to no hamburger on the bun, my husband wanted to send it back but I honestly wasn't hungry and wouldn't ate them anyway. I nibbled on his nachos.....they were good but he had to order more beef and guacamole because they was little on the nachos....that was an extra charge. I love how they calculated the estimated tip. The service is pretty bad here. First of all, they did not have any utensils so our waiter had to go search for some. The salad that my friend ordered came without chicken and scallions in it. When asked where the chicken was, our waiter said it is in the salad underneath all the lettuce. After asking twice, they came back with chicken but forgot the scallions. The other waitress told us that the kitchen staff did not know what scallions were. Everything took a while and it may have been because our waiter was trying to serve a couple tables that were pretty far apart. The only reason why I did not give this place a 1 star is because in the end they compensated for the salad but only after we had complained several times. Games are fun, get old fast, but it is a nice way to spend a little time pretending like you are a kid again. I love shooting, racing and air hockey so I was a bit in heaven, but like I said it got old fast. I wasn't nearly drunk enough or rich enough to fully take advantage of this place. If you do decide to venture out for some adult fun, apparently one must be over 21 or accompanied by a parent over 25 to get in, stay towards the games or one of their 5 basic choices of beer. It was at least an hour and a half drive from DC because we hit all of the beautiful rush hour traffic. We finally arrive and the coworker I arrived with is under 21, he was not allowed in unless he had a chaperone. Being 2 years under the limit and not his mother, we had to wait for some people so we can somehow finagle him the entrance. Finally after that 10 minute debacle we sit and order our food. Since we were a bit late coming in I ordered 5 minutes after everyone else. My food came, without exaggeration, 3 minutes later. It even arrived faster than the glass of water I ordered. I had a basic order: mini buffalo chicken sandwiches and fries, but that was just too fast. The moment I bit in I knew why. The rolls tasted the hard airplane bread and the chicken was room temp at best. I should have just sent the plate back, but a. it takes a lot for me to return a plate and b. I was starving. I ate it, albeit begrudgingly, but from that day on I made an oath: No more D&B. Well, no more D&B food. I grew up spending time at Dave & Busters in Philadelphia on most weekends during the summer. When I moved to Maryland, I was thrilled that I was once again close to a D & B, and I spent a lot of time at this location with friends. Now that I have a child of my own, I wanted to bring him to Dave & Busters today to cut loose a little. I haven't been to this location in 1.5 years, but I was shocked at the decline in the establishment. We went in and were shocked that we had to spend $8 to get a Power Card. The machine wouldn't give my husband his change, so we had to schlep all the way to the back to get change. For $8, we got 40 tokens and all of the cool games were at least 9.9 tokens. I mean, 9.9... REALLY? So for 8 bucks, we got to play four games. We ended up with 45 tickets. Management was pretty non-existent, so after we finally tracked someone down so that my son could pick out a prize, we were told they were all out of the "lower ticket" prizes for right now. So, my son left disappointed. Later, we found out that on Wednesdays, games are half price all day, something I definitely wish we would have known today!! We definitely won't be coming back here. I'd rather take him to Chuck E Cheese's, price-wise. read more

Though I'm not really sure what people see in Dave & Buster's, I can't necessarily say it doesn't have itself together. Between bowling, arcade games and restaurants/bars, it's got everything you need for a good time. I've been there plenty of times to grab drinks before going to the movies, and I've eaten at their sports bar many a time. I can say, for sure, that the drinks are overpriced for that they are. Everything is noticeably watered-down. I'm a very small person who rarely drinks, but I can put down three of their margaritas and feel nothing. The food is decent, I had steak during my most recent visit and though it was on the dry side, it was alright. The mashed potatoes were great, though. The crowd is what gets me. It can be hard to have a good time in the evening as it draws a great number of people, and sometimes you'll get a crowd that isn't the most courteous to those around them. I'd recommend the sports bar if you need a place to watch the game, but get there in a timely fashion or you won't have a place to sit. The crowd is also likely smaller and less 'lively' during the day, which would make it a decent place for kids. read more

When the bartender finally came out she apologized and said was in the back talking to a manager. But it took nothing for someone else to at least get me a glass of water. And it was not busy. On a Saturday afternoon, drove around for 20 mins looking for a parking spot, & then another 20 min walk to D&B. This alerted us to the chaos we would encounter inside. Another 20 minutes wait to buy cards, then the kids could finally play. Tables in the game room never became available. It seemed like some people were sort of camped out there. There were just too many people here. White Flint was a MUCH better experience: fewer people & more tables available. On the bright side, the kids had a great time & the game room floor staff gave them a boat load of free coins & tickets. read more

So I was planning on hosting my boyfriend's non chalant birthday party here. I called a few days ahead of time to reserve two bowling lanes and a table for a party of 8, however they do not take reservations but I was assured we would able to grab a table and a bowling lane with no problem as most parties are over by 4:30. Not so; we waited 3+ hours for our name to be called and it never happened. No biggie, we'll just play video games all evening which is the main reason for going here in the first place. Now, I had never been to a dave and busters before last night so this was my first experience. It was beyond crowded (understandably so as it was a Saturday evening) which was not what I was told by a staff member and my wallet was stolen right out of my purse which never left my body all evening. There are no lockers available for coats or personal belongings. There are a decent number of games and most of them looked like they were working. The lines get quite long to play so be prepared to wait a while. I'm a general manager of a restaurant, so I understand that things happen and crowds make things immensely harder to deal with. Management did absolutely nothing and I got hung up on three different times when I calls back the next morning to see if anyone found my wallet. Our waitress, Christina, was very nice if and patient and helpful but the drinks were not worth their cost, they were almost completely water/soda. The food was sub par and came out 40 minutes after ordering and cold. Maybe this place is better when it's not so crowded but there needs to be more organization and communication through staff. Needless to say I am never coming back to this location ever again. Ever. It was beyond ghetto and I wouldn't be surprised if they were over their legal occupancy limit for the fire code. read more

We ordered some food for ourselves in the game area and I have to say our server Sergio was amazing!! Literally THE nicest and most pleasant service I've ever had! He brought me a water while I looked at the menu and I didn't even ask him but he clearly read my mind! It was extremely nice of him and I thought a wonderful gesture! As far as the food goes, it was terrible. I believe i went on a friday night with three friends. I ordered some sort of barbecue burger. The ground beef patty or whatever they used was mushy and gray. I took two bites and just ended up eating my fries. None of us were satisfied with our food and were not picky eaters. Most of these chains are largely homogeneous and the game design has devolved into turning mobile phone games into simplified arcade games. Food is also generally okay. Bar food and alcohol are also overwhelmingly average. The servers are generally nice enough and you know, you drink beer and play games.
