    2 meat platter
    Amy H.

A whole 2 meat platter for only $19?? Fresh smoked meat with some of the best beans in town?? Sign me up! A scrumptious spot hidden in VB, they were out of ribs by the afternoon but their brisket and pulled meat did not disappoint. Highly recommend the green beans and their famous baked beans. This location also had outdoor seating to enjoy your food in the nice sun. Come early to avoid the lines!

Food is and has been consistently delicious for years!! Love the new location on Laskin rd. The dining area is cute, clean and accommodating for families. Just picked up some to-go... the smell in my car was mouthwatering Got a rack of pork spare ribs (saw the special advertised on Instagram), pint of baked beans and banana pudding. WOW!! Sooo good! Everything has so much flavor... the beans whoa!!! The staff is so very friendly and smiling! Can't wait to try more things on the menu!

Crew preparing food for customers, everyone was very happy to be there

The pulled pork sandwich very good, smoked flavor and great sauce Fries home cut and hot Good lunch spot, everything looked good! Very chill place

I used to visit Dave's BBQ when they were located at their previous location but I recently discovered their new location off of Laskin and definitely had to stop in. As I walked in, I was very impressed with how large the dining area was. It's wonderful to see such a deserving, local business grow from a small location with few seating to a restaurant style building. The staff were very friendly and assisted me with ordering. I decided on a Two Meat Platter and chose the Brisket and Ribs along with Potato Salad and Baked Beans. I was encouraged to try the Banana Pudding so I ordered that as well lol. The food is served as you order so there's no wait and everything was just as great as I remembered. The ribs were "fall off the bone" tender and the brisket was juicy and flavorful. The baked beans have always been my absolute favorite and the potato salad was savory and wonderful. All of the BBQ sauces were at each table so you could help yourself to as much as you want. The banana pudding was pretty good but I would have loved more bananas and cookies. I will forever recommend Dave's BBQ to anyone looking for a BBQ spot with great food and wonderful customer service. I am so happy that this place is still thriving! Definitely stop in and check them out!

Without a doubt - THE BEST BBQ IN THE 757. I've been coming here since before they moved to a larger location. It's the same quality, but now there's more space to sit. The brisket is excellent, and the jalapeño sausage is probably some of the best I've had. Pulled pork is good. The smoked baked beans are legit. Spicy slaw has some heat but is very flavorful. The Meat Staq is my go-to, and often, I have enough to eat another meal out of it. The banana pudding is also great. Don't fret about the cost; it's super tasty, and the portions are like you wouldn't believe. Don't skip Dave's.

We've been wanting to try them out, so we did! Great customer service, very friendly! The inside is nicely decorated for a BBQ joint. Funny T-Shirts. Food was more than enough, we had to get doggie bags.

The best bbq in VA! Big portions and great service. I had the brisket plate and it was incredible

Dave's is the BEST BBQ in the area. Their platters are AMAZING!!! I have even had my birthday party at Dave's that's how much I love it. The brisket is the most tender and flavorful piece of meat you will ever have. My aunt and uncle came from Michigan and we took them for lunch. Oh to see the look on peoples face when they try it for the first time is great. The ribs are melt in your mouth wonderful and Dave also has different sauce. Even eating something as simple as pulled chicken. You will be amazed how much flavor there is.YUM YUM YUM. My husband and I love the smoked turkey on a croissant. There is so much meat on each sandwich . Big thick delicious sliced smoked turkey and a beautiful light tasty croissant. YUM YUM UM. They have drinks in bottles and containers Then they also have sides and sometimes that changes so check the menu when you go. This is a small place with inside and outside seating but they are worth it.

It's the perfect combination of sweet, tangy, and open gooey deliciousness! Today, Baker's Crust catered breakfast at my office, and I was excited to see a table overflowing with bagels and cream cheeses. It was like Christmas morning for carb lovers! Unfortunately, none of the bagels or cream cheeses were labeled. My excitement quickly turned into confusion when I took a big bite of what I was sure was my beloved strawberry cream cheese... only to discover it was definitely not strawberry. And let's just say an onion bagel paired with the wrong cream cheese is a combination I wouldn't recommend. The food itself was great, but a little labeling would go a long way. A simple sticker or note on the bottom of each cream cheese container and small tent cards identifying the bagel flavors would save future customers from accidental flavor roulette. Still a fan, but next time I'd like to know whether I'm biting into strawberry bliss or an unexpected onion surprise! For a side note it's so easy to order online for a quick stop on the way to work. Perfect every time!!!

It is fully shaded which was nice considering we had some young kids with us. Service staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. Drinks were delivered very fast by the bartender. 2nd rounds were offered prior to the drinks being empty which shows good serving habits. The serving portions were very plentiful and played very well on the brunch theme! Burger was cooked medium well but still very juicy with a delicious mayo based sauce. The chicken and biscuit was juicy and the biscuit was flaky and delicious. It would have served the dish well TJ have a little more syrup. I also loved the unique hash tots. I already knew this was my destination as I had been following them since they opened in VB. Upon our arrival we found the Cafe about a 1/4th of the way full so I had hopes for breakfast in a quiet setting. Even though there was a steady flow of traffic, we were able to dine in a relaxed setting without feeling rushed. I mention this because with it being a holiday weekend full of Jeepers, I fully expected them to be packed. The wait to order was too long as it left me staring at the pastry window so long I almost ordered one of everything however; I refrained from doing so but still bought 4 pastries, French toast & seasoned potatoes. Yes yes, alot of food for 1 person but I still had 2 days left in my visit and well, I have a thing for pastries. The pastries were: mango & passion fruit eclair, a pineapple muffin, lemon raspberry cake & profiteroles. I loved everything with the exception of the eclair. It wasn't anything against the eclair, it's just the mango/passionfruit mixture was just too passionate for my tastes. The muffin reminded me of my own homemade upside pineapple cake without all the brown sugar. It was light and buttery. The Lemon raspberry slice was delightful & not the least bit tart or too sweet. A mixture of both flavors without either one overpowering the other. The cake was super moist, perfect. The profiteroles were my favorite. They reminded me of that feeling I had the 1st time I tasted them while living in Italy. The choux perfectly baked and so delightfully light. The French toast was good enough without the side of syrup. The star for me of the breakfast items were the potatoes. I LOVED them. They were served HOT, seasoned just right with their insides softer that a baby bottom. I coulda just ordered 2 servings of those & bypassed the toast. All in all, well worth the wait. The folks were friendly, the Cafe clean and the seating plentiful and comfortable. I would recommend this place for both pastries & French toast & spuds.

I ended up on the combo of their soup and salad since their soup also sounded good. I was hesitant on the strawberries in the wine country salad since I know they're not in season really, but they were lovely. Everything in the salad worked well together and the dressing was nice and vinegary while still tasting of raspberries. It was very well balanced except for the ratio of toppings to greens. I feel as though there was just a little too much toppings. It could've used more leafs. As for the soup, it was a little bland, but after adding salt and pepper it tasted nice. It was mostly soup rather than crab or corn though. That was my only critique really, the temperature was good as well. It could've used some crackers on the side, but it wasn't necessary, just would've been a nice touch. Our waitress was quite nice, checked up on us and got us refills. All of our food came out together and hot. The sandwiches on other people's plates all looked wonderful, and after having a shoestring fry, I can definitely say next time I will be ordering some of those. As far as ambiance goes, it was nicely lit but still moody, which was appreciated. Very chill in there. Only reason I rate it 3 stars is because I feel as though there's room for improvement food wise, and price wise. $20+ for almost everything on the menu is pretty ridiculous. Even for some of the simple items. I don't think the food is that good, proportionately appropriate, or creative to be that much money. Maybe it's just me, but that's how I feel. I'll probably be back to try more items, I'd recommend coming here at least once to try if you haven't, during happy hour to get the best prices if you can.
