I wanted to like this place more, but there was nothing special. I was really excited about the homemade chips and they were my favorite thing here, but they sprinkle sugar on them and I found myself dusting them off because of this. The burgers are average. very disappointed. usually i get great service and food but they were just not on top of it today.. no seasoning on the fries, ice machine and soda weren't working. lemonade tasted like lemon water. had to walk across the street to get a cold drink. they messed up an order. we ordered a burger with grilled jalapeños and onions and when we got the both weren't cooked. very upsetting. might be a while before we come back. read more

If you are looking for a awesome BLT in the Waco area this is the place. I highly recommend it with an egg over hard and the homemade chips. I have been there several times over the past year and it's consistently good every time. Plenty of good crispy bacon all the way through and the chips are crunchy till the end as well. For those of you passing through from Austin, this is the "Dan's Hamburgers" of Waco. The burgers have that freshly-made taste and isn't expensive. Employees were super friendly, and apparently there's a student/teacher discount if that applies to you. This may be our pitstop between Austin and Dallas from now on. read more

About equivalent to a in and out or a Whataburger. Decent and better than average. Fries are good but onion rings are definitely store bought and frozen. Might be fun to do the challenge and get a t shirt but not worth driving to unless you are just driving by it for something else. read more

Had a burger and fries from the food truck at MCC today. Both were excellent! Staff was really friendly, too.

For a quick burger and fries it nothing to complain about. Only suggestion would be to get some staff that was a bit more friendly and attentive! The cook is more friendly than the lady that is supposed to greet you! read more

Dave's is an amazing low price burger place. They are family friendly, offer amazing burgers and have pretty decent food portions. The homage potato chips are probably the best thing on the menu. They offer Ice cream and dessert options for the kiddos as well as local sodas on Tap. I go there regularly. read more

Best burger in the area, but the fries are ALWAYS soggy and gross. Establishment is clean (almost sterile), service is prompt and courteous. Burgers are delicious high quality, chunky beef and have tons of options. I haven't brought a single (out of very many) person that hasn't liked them. Staff is usually kind of low key but hey, in my experience they consistently bring out the food in a timely fashion and that's all you need them for, you can take care of yourself from there! Open since 2009, Dave's is newer and cleaner than many of Waco's burger joints, and, contrary to my expectations, the relatively small dining area bears no resemblance to a barn. My burger, fries, and Blue Bell chocolate shake all were excellent. The patty was medium-sized and the bun fresh and moist. The fries were on the floppy side, in a hand-cut sort of way. This little place is in a nondescript building kind of hidden off of I 35 in Waco. They had one of the best burgers I've had in a long time! The burger was big juicy and the portion was appropriate for a single. It was clear that this burger is made in house! Actually I'm not sure I could've eaten anymore! For the big eaters they have a double and a triple burger! However the real gem in this place was the fries! I don't usually eat fries but when I learned that they were homemade I had to try them! Since I never read reviews before I try a new place I did not know about the secret seasoning and I was delightfully surprised! The soda drinks didn't taste right and the sweet tea had little tea flavor. Needed something open on Sunday night and this hit the spot. I had the jalapeno cheeseburger and am really glad they didn't use pickled jalapenos. The fries were fresh cut and not from frozen. The food does take about 15-20 minutes to prepare though, which is awhile for burgers. Worth it. read more

Had the WORST experience there three weeks ago. Perhaps it was the wrong time to go, as they were busy, but after ordering our food for take out; it took them LITERALLY 45 minutes to get our ( one burger, fries and onion rings). The service absolutely sucked. Other customers in the restaurant came after us; ate their complete meals and just felt sorry for the two idiots STILL waiting on their food. My wife and I wanted to just leave numerous times; but quite honestly speaking, the food is incredibly good and we were just plain hungry. My wife asked for some sort of deal or something for enduring the crappy service: the young girl said she couldn't offer us anything. Sorry charley.. Dave Burger Barn got a ZERO from us that day. First of all the sides are amazing! We tried onion rings, fries, and chips. Cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. The burgers are large and tasty although I thought that they lacked a little seasoning and if they would have sprinkled some of the appetizer seasoning on the burger it would have been much better. My family got cheese burgers and were very satisfied. I got a hamburger and it was not hot enough for me. The bun was cold and should have been toasted and warm. They should invest in a burger warmer. Next to fast food this place is a gem. I will order differently next time. Friendly service. Definitely worth the short trip off I-35. read more

These are good old-fashioned burgers on a toasted bun and loaded with your favorite veggies!! I had the fries (not my fav) and my husband had the onion rings. I will go with onion rings next time! The burgers were really good but the service was very average. The girl at the register mixed our order up and even when my girlfriend finally got her burger it was made wrong. It was Sunday for lunch so the cashier may have just been really busy. I loved my burger though, I got the jalapeño cheese burger and my son got the tenders and we were both very satisfied. read more
