I've been eating these sandwiches since I was 12, I'm 32 now. I haven't been to Dave's in years but think about them often. I happened to be in the Rose Bowl area and decided to stop by for dinner, there's something about being welcomed and remembered by the best sandwich maker you've ever known makes these amazing tasting sandwiches that much better. Everything from the bread to the quality of the ingredients inside to the friendly smile of the Bostonian making your sandwich makes Dave's so worth the drive!

Turkey sandwich for my kids- customized by Dave to my son's liking!

Our family were STOKED when we learned that Dave's had reopened at the Pasadena Rose Bowl Aquatic Center. They were our tried and true spot back when they were in Eagle Rock. Dave's is the kind of business you want to support; great food, great people. They're now in a prime location with tons of parking, a nice little area for sitting (right outside the front entrance), and a quick walk to the brookside park/playground. Perfect for grabbing some food before or after swimming or for a day at the park. Dave really takes pride in his menu and you can taste the difference. No processed lunchmeat here! Thank you Dave and team for coming back to serve the community

    Funny decor (:

Parking is a bit annoying in this area, so you'll likely need to take a little walk to get to the alley that Kinrose is on. However, when you do enter, you're welcomed with roses, Pac Man, and unique, sweet treats! We sampled most of the menu and found our favourite flavours to be Sheer Moz Brulee and Sour Cherry & Fairy Floss. The Sheer Moz is a perfectly-balanced banana and comes with banana chips. Delicious! Yet, the more we ate the Sour Cherry & Fairy Floss, the more we loved that one. You'll find little crunchy surprises within the ice cream or the fairy floss (not entirely sure), but it all melts smoothly in your mouth. Based on these two flavours alone would we highly rate Kinrose Creamery. The other flavours can be hit or miss based on your preferences. If you're looking for quality ice cream with unique flavours, then come to Kinrose Creamery! Prices are fair, staff is friendly and efficient, and there are a number of seats within. Additionally, you can play some arcade Pac Man!

Fluffy, snow-soft ice piled with real mango cubes and a milk drizzle on top - and even in the single-serving cup size, it was seriously worth it. We also tried the green tea bingsu, topped with matcha powder and mochi, which was solid but the mango stole the spotlight for me. Pro tip: the single size is pretty generous on its own, so unless you're trying to sample a few flavors, one cup does the job. We split two just to try different options and it worked out great for that! Parking along the street was hit or miss, but we went pretty late at night so it wasn't too bad. Came here for the souffle pancakes and they didn't disappoint!…read more My party of 3 stopped by Saturday afternoon 2:30 pm and it wasn't crowded. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose outdoor since it was such a nice day out. They have all of their desserts on display in the case, so you can peruse the options and see what looks good. So many of the desserts looked good, like the matcha yuzu chiffon crepe cake or the rose and lychee crepe cake. We ordered via the kiosk and got the mango sunshine souffle pancake ($16.50) and well as a couple drinks. My drink was the white peach lemon jasmine bliss ($6.25), with 50% sweetness and less ice. Even though there are signs everywhere saying that it takes 15-20 minutes for the souffle pancakes to be cooked, ours came out super quickly, in 5 minutes or so. We got it with the sauce on the side, but I regret doing that as I saw others getting it with the sauce on top and it was beautiful. The pancake was super fluffy and a bit eggy as well. We all really enjoyed it with the mango sauce. I made the mistake of eating the pancake first before trying a sip of my tea. The pancake was pretty sweet, so I could barely taste my drink, but I think it was good? I could taste a bit of the lemon but definitely not the white peach, which is a lighter flavor. I got a slice of their Hokkaido cheese cake roll for $7 to go and had it the next day. It was okay but definitely a bit pricy for what you get. I'd love to come back to try their other desserts and pancakes!

I ordered a matcha coco jasmine tea and I found that the jasmine flavor completely took over. The oolong peach crepe cake was yummy! It had little peach chunks throughout. Good oolong/peach flavor was light, airy, and slightly sweet. The black sesame chiffon roll was also light and subtly sweet with a nice nutty flavor. The cafe itself was pretty small with 3 small tables, 1 big table, and bar seatings with charging ports. The bathroom was closed and it was really warm inside. I couldn't see myself studying or staying too long, which may be for the best since parking is tricky and street parking has a 2 hour limit. An okay experience, but I don't see myself coming back.

We were done about an hour before our reservation time. We hoped to be accommodated earlier but saw the long line and crowd waiting as we drove by. We decided to run a couple small errands instead. We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation. It was still busy, but there were not as many people waiting. The hostess was so warm and welcoming. She let us know that the customers at our designated table were almost done and that they will have it ready in just a few minutes. Unfortunately, those customers decided to linger much longer. Thirty minutes later, they were still hanging around. We fully understood that this was not by any fault of the restaurant. We continued to wait patiently. The hostess was very apologetic and was trying to work out a solution which led to the Floor Manager (Karla) getting involved. We were eventually seated at another table, with the option to move should the other table become available. Karla then took the time to apologize for the wait and unfortunate first impression. As we got started with drinks and a pastry for the daughter, the other table opened. The hostess immediately came to move us. It all went smoothly from there. Table service was casual and attentive. We started with the Chocolate Almond Croissant and the Baguette & Bordier Butter. The daughter tried the Iced Matcha Latte. For our entrées -- Shakshuka, Patty Melt and Brioche Eggs Benedict (with salmon). I was eager to try the Potato Gravlax, but it was sold out. :( Everything was so, so delicious! Fresh and flavorful. Lovely presentations. Very good portions. As we were finishing, Karla came to our table again to express her gratitude for our patience and understanding. She gave me her business card with an offer to contact her directly should we need another reservation. On our way out, I stopped to compliment the sweet young hostess for a job well done. Wonderful experience. Beautiful decor. I would give Oh La La 10 stars if I could! We will most certainly be back!

While we missed out on the pastries, we each got to try their bread in our respective meals which were well buttered and toasted and had a nice crunchy outside and a soft chewy inside. My friend basically inhaled her croque monsieur, and I kept marveling at each element of my meal: cashew cheese with a salsa macha, a marinated wild mushroom, and an avocado for texture to put on my delicious toast. Unfortunately, they didn't have any cinnamon rolls the two times I stopped by. (I think it had something to do with how their AC is currently out and awaiting repairs). Not wanting to leave empty handed, I decided to get a few slices of cake instead. And boy am I glad I did! So far I've tried their red velvet cake, vanilla cake with strawberry frosting, and a seasonal strawberry cake. The cakes were all rich and on the denser side, and were a cross between moist and crumbly. Each cake also paired exceptionally well with the velvety thick frosting. So the backup plan was a rousing success, as all three cake slices were fabulously indulgent and the perfect treat. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh.
