While waiting for my nail appointment, I kept passing this bakery on the corner and finally gave in... because let's be honest, pastries have a way of calling your name. I decided to walk over and was immediately welcomed by the gentleman at the front, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. He took the time to explain which pastries were freshly made that day and was super patient while I stood there pretending I wasn't mentally trying to order one of everything. There were so many good-looking options to choose from, but I ended up trying the spinach boreg (pie). He did kindly warn me ahead of time that it has a bit of a sour flavor, but I appreciated the honesty and decided to go for it anyway. I also grabbed some cookies (completely forgot the name of them ), and my total came out to around $25. Inside was very clean, welcoming, and nicely kept, and service was quick and friendly from start to finish. As for the food -- I'd give both the spinach pie and the cookies around a 7/10. They weren't quite the typical pastries and breads I'm personally used to, but that's more about my own taste than the quality itself. Everything tasted fresh, and I still enjoyed trying something different. If you've never had Lebanese pastries or baked goods, I definitely think this spot is worth checking out. I came late to the game. I arrived afternoon. They didn't have much left and they close at 3pm on Saturday. This was my fault. My friend follows Panos on IG and I saw a pic of za'atar flatbread. I LOVE za'atar! It's a blend of herbs/thyme, sesame seeds and sumac. I was warmly greeted but quickly told they didn't have much left. They were busy today. Which is fine. I should have come earlier! He said that they make batches of the foods in the morning. He only had one za'atar flatbread left. Well that's what I came for!!!!!!! I also got the last three spinach and cheese boreg. I immediately went to my car and tried the flatbread while it was warm. The edges were crispy, just how I like it! I would have liked just a little more za'atar, but that is my own preference. This Za'atar flatbread is one of top three!!! So glad I don't have to Glendale or Pomona if I'm ever craving za'atar!!! read more

Today's order was horrible, all 18 pieces were burned, $50 in the trash. The gentlemen with glasses at the front counter didn't really care that the food was bad and thrown away in the trash. I have loved and eaten Armenian food for decades in many countries including Turkey and this is clearly the best and most interesting Armenian food that I have had!! Each ingredient was very high quality. We tried many menu items and each was delicious, freshly made to order (20 minute wait that was more than worth it and that we were informed about at the time of order) , nicely presented, surprisingly light and with unique/good tastes. I got the classic kachapuri (boat-shaped bread filled with cheese and two eggs, the Za'atar and cheese flatbread, and the Saroukh Boreg (a cheese and hot chili mixture stuffed into bread. Everything was so delicious dipped into their hummus! Bonus was that the staff are incredibly kind and friendly as well! This is not a typical bakery where bread & pastries are displayed. As you walk in you will find some empty shelves with few drinks in the fridge & breadsticks on the other side. We then tried to reach them on the phone & that answered our question. They only prepare when customers place the order in order to maintain freshness of their product. And since we're already familiar with the spinach-filled bread called "boreg" we ordered 2 dozens for $9 per dozen & set a time for pick up. The spinach borek is perfectly salted and sour, the cheese borek is absolutely delicious especially with a cup of hot sweetened mint tea and the manaeish is to die for.
