Looking for somewhere to eat while we were in Pasadena, and came across Bobby's. When I read the other YELP reviews we had to come try it. (Especially when it talked about the owner being a dodger fan). If you come in from the back parking lot you walk by there sports wall which has tons if baseball cards from all teams as well as a ledge with Dodger Bobbleheads. Totally gave you a sports bar decoration feeling. Service was good and food was decent. They have big screen tv's in the eating area which play sports events. If you are a sports fan I would say definitely check it out. read more

I needed a crunchy taco, and Bobby's Place does tacos. This is a big spot with plenty of tables and the service is friendly and helpful. I ordered the Crunchy Taco with ground beef, a Chicken Street Taco and a Bean & Cheese Burrito. All of it was tasty. My only issue is the salsa. While the roja salsa was ok, the creamy verde salsa was not to my taste. Unfortunately there are only two options (no Cholula, Tapatio, or even Tabasco). Our friends like going to Bobby's, we ordered burgers and chicken burritos. Burgers looked good and the burritos had good seasoning. Parking is located behind the building and is shared with a Chinese food restaurant and nail salon if you can't figure out how to park for it. Staff is friendly and helpful, they've got cool artwork on the walls. Fries were a little underdone in my option for smaller steak fries. And they needed to have fans going when hot. One of my coworkers recommended this spot for lunch. I'd had their breakfast tacos once before--they were tasty but on the small side. This time, I went for the Ortega Burger (sourdough bread, jalapeño sauce, Ortega chile, grilled onions, and cheese) and some fries. The burger was super good--the crispy sourdough bread and spicy chiles were a great combo. The fries were awesome too, and they really hooked it up--I had more than enough to share with my coworkers. I was in a rush and decided to try out something new that I hadn't been to before. Service here was good. The ambiance was bright and clean. The fries were perfect, not too well done but not undercooked. The burger was a pleasant surprise... It was a cross between a fast food burger and a backyard bbq type burger. I had it with all the fixings and let me tell you it was excellent. Was big but not annoyingly big. The only thing bad I could say is that I did taste a bit of heavy salt in a few bites. Came in just before closing and enjoyed all the food! The guys were super nice, and recommended 1/2 onion rings and 1/2 zucchini. The double Ortega burger was on my list of things to try. They surprised me by bringing out some fries so I could try them! Everything is delish, but the star of the show is definitely the house beer batter on the rings and *especially* the zucchini. Not sure what kind of culinary chemistry is happening, but this is the best fried zucchini I've ever had. My words were "the batter on the zucchini HITS!!" They go so perfectly together. The batter is reminiscent of Burger Parlor in Fullerton (RIP). When the batter is crispy in some places but ultimately melts in your mouth, I'm all in. It's a very difficult thing to perfect. Have missed those rings and have never found an equal. Until now. But trust me on the zucchini!!! You get soft batter that smoothly transitions into the softness of the zucchini. Just exquisite. A Pasadena classic. I've been going to Bobby's before it was Bobby's. Back when it was Rick's on Del Mar and El Molino before all those condos. I'd pull up every Friday during football season after i played a game from 2011-2013 and my mom would get me a cheeseburger and a spudderito with what little money she had. I could take it even further back and say I'd come here and get some fries and ketchup with allowance money on my way home from McKinley School right down the street back in '05-'08. Routine perfection. This place has always executed a burger joint the way it should be: fast, efficient, friendly and great customer service. Now, years later, I carry on tradition and take my son here and tell him stories over a nice burger meal. He loves the cheeseburger combo. That's his go to with some ranch. You gotta try the Ortega double. Flavorful, perfectly seasoned, with the right amount of heat from the pepper. Fries made fresh to ordered and well salted. That's usually enough food for me but occasionally I'll order the classic spudderito. You gotta try it at least once. It's basically fries, salsa, and cheese wrapped in a tortilla. For some of you that might sound crazy, but I promise you, the simplicity of this item goes a long way. Make sure to get yourself some hot sauce and ranch. It goes good with everything on the menu. They have convenient parking out back, bathrooms, and also usually have sports or movie going on a big TV. Staff is always awesome and they even recognize us when we dine-in. Came here to pick up a quick lunch. Parking was around the back. When you get in the front you'll see that the kitchen is open concept which I like so you can see everything going on. There's a small dining area with some tables but very spacious. Customer service was great! She was very friendly and patient with my questions about what was in and how a lot of the menu items were prepped. My bf ordered a bacon breakfast burrito and I got a breakfast sandwich with ham. I don't like mayo and she was kind enough to ask if I preferred butter to toast the bread since they usually use mayo. We thought the burrito was very flavorful but a little on the small side for the price. My bf ended up finishing the rest of my sandwich since he was still hungry. I enjoyed the sourdough bread they used and the ham slice was very thick. Overall pretty decent food but def appreciated the customer service most. read more

The fries they have here is sooo good and tasty for big fries. The only reason for the 4 star is because they charge you $2.50 extra for cheese, which is pretty insane. I hope that changes because I've been coming here for over 20 years when it used to be called Rick's, and I never had to pay that much for cheese. Amazing breakfast burritos! I had a sudden breakfast burrito craving and was in search of a good one that didn't require me to sit down to get it. After researching very briefly, I discovered Bobby's Place. It's located in the Ralph's shopping center, in the front and next to other restaurants on Lake. You can park at Ralph's and just walk over to Bobby's. It's literally right next door. So back to the burritos! I ordered two; one bacon and one sausage. I also ordered them with the salsa to be included on the side with my burrito. It was a to-go order and they wasted no time! They were quick, friendly, and efficient! The lady at the counter was so understanding that it was my first time there so I had no idea what I was doing, lol. But omggg...the burritos are so dang good! The bacon one was very generous with the meat. It had the perfect blend of cheese, potato, and egg. If you're not a fan of super hot salsa, don't include it with the burrito. I have fond memories of the old/original "Rick's" burger/burritos spot on El Molino and Walnut St. Stepping into Bobby's gave me that same nostalgic feeling. The food is still good!! They've added bacon to the menu. Everyone knows that "Everything tastes better with bacon!" Our burgers were just as we ordered and the fries....salt to fry ratio was perfect. It was also good to see our local "celebs" (Johnny Long) dining when we walked in... just like back in the day! This spot is definitely a hidden gem in Pasadena. Don't sleep on Bobby's....it's amazing spot with sports playing on the TV, you can't go wrong! Can't wait to go back! Oh and Bobby...I am glad that you survived the Covid pandemic. read more

A very nice and good place! The customer service was great! I hade asked about thier spice levels and they gave me a nice tortilla taste cup of thier hot sauce. That was great of them! The drive and eat was fine, however, the grease factor was a bit much! Seeing the grease drip from my bag to my seat wasn't the greatest, but the taste was outta this world! The burger, all praises!!! The Zucchini fries... good... TBH, a lot of grease and batter, but too much of the actual Zucchini...
