The kids invited us out for dinner so we obliged and had a great time! Had the fish and chips. Not fresh but they were pretty good. Not great but good. The burgers are where this place shines! And the fries!! Damn those fries are good!!! Had an old fashioned and they make them per good here! Staff is pretty good, a bit slow where it's not a busy night but not to the point of really questioning your decision making skills. The place is clean and all staff members are friendly.

Stopped in here after seeing a special and thought we'd check it out. We were pleasantly surprised with this little gem and found that the place was really busy on a weekday at lunch which seems to be more and more rare these days. The prices seemed reasonable and on par with other places, if not a bit less and the selection was pretty impressive- it was hard to decide what to order! The interior decor is also really nice with the High Desert vibes you would expect from the name. We each had one of the specialty burgers (Valley burger and I forget the name of the other one). They were both very tasty and the portions were generous. They have amazing fries- both the regular and sweet potato. Service was great (it was so busy we had to sit at the bar since we were in a little bit of a hurry). We plan to add this place to our rotation as there is a ton of selection that looks amazing and they have a pretty decent looking happy hour food & drink specials too. I couldn't get a good look at all the taps but that selection also seemed to be pretty impressive compared to what you see elsewhere. A good first impression and am looking forward to checking out more of the menu!

Their chicken nachos are incredible. Salsa is authentic homemade New Mexican salsa! So filling and satisfying. Great service and friendly owner

Yum yum yum!! I have been to the daves valley grill location and I have to say I enjoyed this experience better! The ambiance of this restaurant is great- low key, large and quite beautiful inside. Service was great, we were seated quickly and the food came out super fast and super fresh. I got the eggs benedict with carnitas, it came on green chile biscuits and the hollandaise sauce was out of this world. So lemony- maybe my new favorite in the city! I will def be back!

This #albuquerque restaurant review was stuck in drafts for a minute, but Shawn (spellcheck) from @daveshighdesertgrillabq snuffed me out, as these things happen, especially given that we've been to so many restaurants ! (He was a great sport and we had lovely service). The bar was popping and it was a warm day so hubby and I decided to dine Al fresco. I got the bourbon BBQ bacon burger because it came with an onion ring and it was so delicious! 5/5 will return!

Okay another great local spot! Came here to try something new and glad we did. The service was great, everyone was friendly and the food and drinks were all prepared well. I had the Cajun Andouille Burger, the candied jalapeños and sausage was great. My guest had the Meatloaf and he said it was wonderful. For dessert I had a White Russian coffee cocktail and shared the biscochito peach cobbler, dude this thing rocks and stole the whole show. I would come here just to order that again. Seriously perfect for fall or winter. Give this place a try support local businesses.

Dave's High Desert Grill is a great low-key spot for breakfast or brunch. Our waitress, Sarah, was very friendly and personable, which made the experience even better. The food prices are reasonable, and the portions--especially the desserts--are huge. My favorites are the Lobster Benedict and the salmon dinner. If you're looking for a quiet, chill restaurant, Dave's is a solid choice. One note: the menu lists a half rack of ribs, but it comes with only four pieces.

We are always searching for breakfast and brunch spots on our vacation and this place was AWESOME when we visited Albuquerque. We had a Sunday Funday brunch here, the mimosas were very refreshing and the food was very filling! We sat outside and the staff was great about opening the umbrellas to shield us from the sun - the inside of the restaurant had beautiful floor to ceiling windows. Our server was really nice, he had a lot of great suggestions and steered us in the right direction. I had the avocado toast - delicious fluffy scrambled eggs on a buttery and crispy slice of toast. My boyfriend and I shared the Whiskey Banana Walnut Pancakes and holy smokes were they delicious. If you like sweet treats I would definitely suggest this - but it was very very filling so be prepared!

So its a bit awkward because there is a sign asking you not to seat yourself until you've ordered your food. It can make you feel a little anxious because if its really busy, where are you going to sit. We saw people waiting around not knowing what to do. Let me start by saying our food took way too long to come out, I even saw someone walk out because they were waiting so long on their food. I saw someone waiting for their food who sat close to us, and it turned out to be a to-go and I was like darn, that felt like they waited 20+ mins. For what they have on their menu, I feel like they should be able churn out food orders pretty quick. A couple who ordered after us, got their full food order before we I got my French toast and everyone else at our table got their food. It felt like 10-15 min wait on my food after everyone at the table got theirs. There was also an issue with our order because we were waiting on a side, but then I guess it was never added to our order per our server. We sat in the front corner and you can see the whole cook area, this also means if ventilation isn't on point, your clothes will soak in that aroma, like my jacket did. Food itself was good, nothing bad about what we received, but the wait time on food was way too long. I was leaning a 3.5 star which would make it a 4 star review, but the hiccup with the order along with the wait time just killed my experience. Not going to lie, I went to Filiberto's afterwards because I was still hungry after eating my stuff French toast and half of my girlfriend bagel.

He's a Yorkie and yes he provides tasks for me related to several medical issues. In fact he is very sensitive to my needs. The owner was confrontational and told me to sit outside, service animal or not. Then she started asking me what she has a right to, but at this point seemed unnecessary. I was on a first date, so I hesitated to say it loud given my first date. Then she snarled at me saying "I'm allowed to ask those questions." If it didn't matter to her if he was a service animal or not, then why the questions? I went back in to get the drinks they forgot to give us, and I showed her his documentation, though not required. She then told me "he's not a service dog!" This may get criticism or kudos, but I fail to see why the owner needed to be so rude and confrontational, especially when I was compliant with her wishes and compliant with the ADA laws. I have been asked the question, "what service does he perform?" at other restaurants, and businesses in Albuquerque without confrontation. They have acted with kindness and professionalism, directed me where to sit, asked for him to sit on the floor, etc. This woman did not and I felt she was purposely confrontational.

Chicken Salad Croissant: This was the unanimous favorite of the table. The chicken salad was creamy but wasn't too heavy because of the acidity. Frenchy: This French dip was simple and contained just roast beef and mustard. The baguette was crispy but not hard. Service: 4.5 Our sever was very patient with our requests. Food did not take too long to come out. My main gripe is that it took awhile to get seated but that is not the servers fault. It was just packed and they need more help! But I understand the restaurant profit margins are always thin, and they need to figure out how to stay open. My favorite breakfast item was discontinued - Cheezy Grits with Carne, so good! I now frequently order the Deluxe Biscuits and Gravy as the biscuits are incredible. The Pappas con Carne are also very good, and the breakfast burrito is just too much food. The last time I ordered Huevos Rancheros the kitchen finally figured out that they should fry the tortillas in oil before plating instead of just warming on the grill!! They were so much better!! Even then, the staff told me what I saw was actually not their busiest hours yet! It was still some wait time for those who want to sit at tables. That said, I sat at a bar across from the kitchen...and frankly enjoyed seeing and learning how food got prepared and dished out to customers. To be honest, seeing how busy and how much hard work the wait staff had to do..I was so glad I didn't have to work there! It's real hard work! I got a homemade granola with fruits and yoghurt for breakfast ($11.99) and soda ($3.99) and was quite satisfied. The food was on an expensive side of scale, but seeing how hard the staff ahd to work and maybe how off I was with the whole inflation since I hadn'at eaten out properly all that much these days...I might be wrong to judge about pricing. That said, lots of options for breakfast/brunch. Also, I saw their homemade desserts,...and those were ginormous!!
