This is an amazing bakery with extensive options from rolls, fresh baked loaves, baked good and cute gifts. My favorite thing about this place is when you walk in, you can go up to the counter and get a bread sample with a spread. I loooove their honey butter with sourdough! It really sets a great tone for walking around and shopping when you have a thick slice of buttered bread in your hand. They have a ton of gluten free options which is always great to see. They have a full sandwich and breakfast menu (which I have admittedly not tried yet!) but they have great options. They take preorders for holidays too! Not my first review of great harvest and definitely not my last, but they are definitely one of my favorite spots for very specific reasons. I often find myself here on a Sunday to grab a loaf of the pistachio cherry sourdough. I love that they have a rotation of different flavors specifically with their sourdough bread, but the cherry pistachio is my favorite. I believe on Saturday it is a green chili Piñon sourdough. Anyways, they're always so friendly. They have such a fun selection of different things and the bread is amazing. You really can't go wrong. read more

Friendly staff, a clean showroom, bountiful goods keep you looking and wanting! This is the spot! I have yet to NOT find something im looking for even when its is out of the ordinary! We ordered the chicken salad sandwich on Montana crunch bread, the Baja Chipotle turkey on Montana crunch, a blue ribbon blueberry coffee cake, and a boulder brownie. We also tried the cinnamon swirl bread and sampled the blueberry lemon bar. I discovered the BYO gift baskets today, which I think is super cool. This place always smells delicious inside and has a cozy atmosphere. The staff are nice and helpful. We signed up for the rewards this time- you can earn points for free bread and sandwiches. Yummers!!! I was visiting a friend in NM and decided to try this bakery. I'm so glad I did. I got their green chili, cheddar sourdough biscuits. They were absolutely delicious! The biscuit was tall and tender.... Almost a scone consistency. I toasted it and put a little butter!! Wow it was so good with my morning scramble!! I also got a loaf of their green chili, cheddar bread to take home. My husband and I made some really yummy sandwiches with the bread. It had just the right amount of kick to it!! First time here, would go back! There's a lot of selection, which can feel overwhelming, but I don't think you can go wrong in your choice. The employees were also very friendly and helpful in their suggestions. They were also really pushing the samples, and they didn't skimp on the size either, which was a nice touch. I tried a pumpkin chocolate petite bar (bread), German stollen, and a cinnamon bread, all of which were good. I ended up getting the pumpkin chocolate petite bar (pumpkin bread with chocolate chips and cream cheese frosting), which is pretty sweet. I shared the gluten free pecan pie bar. Because it was gluten free, the crust was more crumbly than I was used to. It was still quite tasty! The ambiance felt like an unassuming, friendly bakery. I felt comfortable there. read more

Wow what a fantastic bakery. Everything is literally made right on site. I am from LA and to have a bakery like this would be boon. We purchased the Chill Cheese Bread which is seasonal, chocolate chip cookie, macchiato scone, and blueberry muffin. Everything was made that morning. I also tried different samples of breads too which was provided by the staff. The owner is really nice and I spoke with him about their bakery. Overall for fresh bread I highly recommend this place. Sometimes I wince at spending upwards of $10 for a load of Montana crunch bread. Yesterday as I was carrying my loaf out of the store I noticed the weight...it is dense and compared to the store bought bread, between $3-$4 a loaf, it's no contest. GHB weighed about 3X more. 4.5 stars A great place to find a snack or a quick gift, especially for the holidays- cinnamon rolls, snickerdoodle cookies, gingerbread loaf, hot cross buns, Easter almond loaf, etc. If you're looking for something specific, it's best to order ahead, as they can sell out quickly. Some of the prices may be a little more than some of the commercial or grocery bakeries, but it's worth it for that homemade taste. This was my first time visiting this store. Had an opportunity to go inside and thankfully I did because this store is wonderful. Offering wall to wall fresh baked goods. I love me some carbs! They also had a wide variety of jams and jellies. They even have a cafe menu that offers breakfast and lunch options. I've seen the menu and it looks amazing. I felt like I was lost in there because there was just so much to see in there. Being greeted by friendly staff members, I was assisted quickly and got the low down of how it works when you order. Like getting the freshly made crusty french bread and having it sliced right before your eyes. I bought this huge cookie too. It was delectable. They even give samples of their baked goods. I decided to try a piece of the Honey bread and a few slices of the Green Chili Cheese bread (so delicious!). I will definitely be back to visit again when I'm in town. Thank you! read more

Just want to leave a shout out to Liz and her team for their great service and the wonderful products they sell. They make great bread, which is as it should be! I call every Thursday to reserve a baton of either marble rye or pumpernickel which I can pick up whenever time allows. They always have it waiting for me, no worries. I had a health issue this summer and had to modify my diet substantially starting with limiting "bad" foods, processed foods, preservatives, etc. Great Harvest has been a huge part of my reaching some of my goals and I can have bread that is actually safe and healthy. My Doctor was actually smiling as we reviewed my "numbers" last week. Lastly, many little touches like extra freezer bags (since there are no preservatives!) and free goodies to sample from the bread board, as well as a nicely stocked gift area make it a fun stop! PS I recently picked up two gorgeous ceramic trivets featuring Balloons, as mementos of their trip to Albuquerque for my houseguests who visited over Balloon Fiesta! Thank so much Liz! Pricey, but good. It's nice to have a sample, several to choose from and located on the left side of the counter. I go to Nini 's nails and get my nails done and then always head over to Great Harvest for a sandwich. The Duke Turkey is a favorite, with bacon, alvacado, with lettuce, tomato, red onion, and pepper jack on green chili bread. And I must mention to head over to Windmill Tea located in the same shopping center. This is my treat day, everything in one place! I would request bringing back a few tables that used to be available to sit inside, especially during cold weather. The little bar is too high and uncomfortable for those of us aging. Also, can you return your water dispenser and cups that used to be available on the counter. If you pay that much for a sandwich, and breads, then a cup of water should be offered. read more

Unbelievable!! My wife and I went in today to purchase rolls for our Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. And the lady at the display case for baked goods offered us samples. This was not the problem, and the employee was great. But, and this is important to note, there was no sign posted that we had to eat the samples outside because of the mask ordinance. We entered the store with our state mandated masks on, in full compliance as is our norm. We got our samples, and I proceeded to eat them with my mask down, which would've been back up afterwards (like, 1 minute). Without any exaggeration, the owner Jim Guthrie, literally charged at me demanding that I put my mask on, as there's an employee working for him who's unvaccinated. He was in my face, not abiding by social distancing guidelines. Mind you, Mr. Guthrie is an imposing 6 feet tall, at least. And he charged at me with a very threatening demeanor... I said, "Okay..." and as I was working to put my mask back on my face (I still had a sample in my hand), he came back a second time, charging at me again! He was literally inches away from my face, yelling at me to put my mask on, saying that he has an unvaccinated employee. First, my wife and I are not children. We are in our fifties. Second, we had our masks on when we entered his bakery. Third, there was no sign posted where we got our samples that we couldn't pull them down to eat them. Fourth, the vaccination status of his employees has nothing to do with us. And fifth, Mr. Guthrie (the owner!) made my wife and I feel threatened as if we would be physically assaulted. We did not match the owner for his tone nor his demeanor. Finally, my wife and I will never step foot in this business again for his petulant and violent behavior toward us! read more

My visit to Grateful Harvest made my day! I've been several times to the bakery in Ogden, UT and was super excited to check out our local ABQ location. Justification for my visit: mission King Cake. Toughest decisions: which sample to try and weather to get cherry king cake or almond cream cheese king cake. I opted for the latter, keeping my fingers crossed that no one at my new office has nut allergies. Main menu items are a broad selection of breads including cinnamon rolls, wheat, challah, sourdough, green chili cheese bread, awesome sugar cookies and scones... amongst others. Other main menu items are their sandwiches. I think it's a great stop for lunch, also breakfast if you aren't looking for anything with eggs or breakfast meat, because they don't have any b fast sandwiches, it didn't look like. Great place for gifts you can buy premade gift boxes or make your own. While I didn't see soup on the menu (unless I missed it) they sell a wide variety of gourmet packaged soups and other fun bakery items. A good place to stop by for baked goods - mainly breads. We came in and purchased a sourdough loaf and a rye loaf, which you can get sliced if you want to. I froze both loaves and they still tasted great a week later! You can also get other baked goods, like biscotti and cookies, as well as sandwiches. They have some tables for customers to enjoy their food. They also have a good sized gluten free section, which is great to know. I have really enjoyed their business. The food is delicious. However, I recently order a sandwich and asked for lettuce on it. You can imagine how appalled I was as I stood in the back, waiting for my sandwich when the gentleman making it yelled out "who orders a breakfast sandwich with lettuce on it?"
