I'm so happy I read that the portions are giant before ordering. My daughter and I split a slider and one tender which was more than enough food. I loved her slider and would get that next time. The tender was moist and delicious despite being huge. It was hard to eat and I think I would have preferred two smaller tenders. I did love their signature sauce, it was so good on its own but even better mixed with some ketchup. The fries were crinkled, crispy, and well seasoned. My husband loved his medium chicken tenders. He said they weren't too spicy but he sounded like there was definitely some heat. They do give you honey which he loved on top of the chicken. Food Price Service I've been dying to try Dave's Hot Chicken ever since I saw a Try Guys video where they had Dave's. The food did not disappoint! I ordered the 2 Slider w/ Fries meal for myself and my sister. The portion was HUGE. Maybe I'm just a petite person, but one slider was as big as a regular sized burger at your typical fast food chain (e.g. McDonald's, In N Out, Chik Fil A). A 2 Slider w/ Fries meal was enough to fill up both my sister and I...all for about $15.39, including tip! I deeply appreciated that they loaded the meal with pickles galore and condiments aplenty. The flavor was spot on and I enjoyed eating the fries with their special house sauce. Usually not a fried chicken kind of person, but this meal may have convinced me otherwise. A couple notes to self: I got the meal at medium level spice which was not at all spicy. For a real zing, I think I'll move up a spice level next time. With each item independently owning their individual flavors; the signature sauce wraps its fingers around each item, making them explode with excellence. food is pretty good, service is alright, but it gets very busy especially after 7-8pm. the male worker with a bunch of ear piercings at the front counter had an attitude, but i can understand how frustrating customer service at food places can be. the only thing i don't like about this place is how tiny the sauce containers are. you can dip your slider maybe 2 times and it's gone LOL. 50 cents for a tiny little container of sauce, maybe the size of a quarter in width, and 3 quarters in height. very small, i guess 50 cents isn't much but i wish they had larger sauce containers for different prices. the shakes and slushes are very expensive so i never get drinks from here. read more

I love eating here to indulge my takeout needs. I always order the Reaper flavor, too! I will admit that there seems to be some inconsistency in the flavor of the Reaper order, because I've exclusively ordered Reaper since this place opened, and some days it's so hot it gives me hiccups (I actually want it punishingly hot like this), other times it tastes like it's a rung or two lower on the spice ladder and just tastes a little spicy. What was all the hype about?! Seriously! I haven't written a review in years but felt compelled to after my visit to Dave's this afternoon. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't horrible. In fact, it was pretty decent but, it surely didn't live up to the hype. The establishment is clean and staff is friendly. The menu is very limited to tenders and sliders with a couple of side order options. Great. It makes ordering simple and fast. You choose the spice level of your chicken and in a few minutes, your order is ready. Awesome. My issue is with the Cajun spice seasoning or whatever it's supposed to be. It's very gritty and powdery! Like a fine gritty dust that you inhale and it causes an uncontrollable cough kind of grit. On top of thar, it's way too salty! I understand our Americanized palettes have a tendency to like things on the saltier side, but this was crazy salty. No bueno. The chicken itself; however, was very juicy and tender breast pieces so that was a definite plus being that I don't care for white meat often. The Mac and cheese was decent but noting to write home about. It was your typical M&C fare you find at most fried chicken joints. The crinkle cut fries were very good though. Fried to crispy perfection and dribbled with the same Cajun powder but not overwhelming like its chicken counterpart. And the Dave's sauce was very good paired with the fries. Overall, it's a decent chicken tender; very Juicy and tender albeit very salty. The spice is very powdery and gritty and because of that, I probably wouldn't return anytime in the near future. But what they do have they prepare very well. The chicken is always cooked perfectly, and they're good about keeping consistency with their spice level. Big flavor and portions! My partner and I shared a 2 strip meal with fries. It was plenty of food for the the both of us for lunch. I got the mild and he got the spicy. Both tenders were super flavorful and the chicken was super tender. They use a wet rub, which I'm not very familiar with, but it gives the flavor of a sauce without so much mess. I got the #3 that included one slider (extra hot) and 1 tender (hot) with fries and a drink, kale slaw on the side since I wasn't sure about it, pickles and yummy dipping sauce. It was yummy but definitely way too much food. I didn't realize how big the portions would be. Next time I would just get 1 item or share.
