Love it when a new spot opens up in our new neighborhood. The ambiance has a hip 90s vibe with the colors and graffiti-like art on the walls. It's very clean and spacious. Our service was spectacular; we were given a nice explanation of the menu options being our first time here. We got the spice level just 1 step down from the 1 you have to sign a waiver for. 2 other people were in the restaurant at the time and said their mouths were numb from it. We found it flavorful and the chicken was really tender. The blend of the soft buns and mayo made this really delicious. Even if you don't do spicy, I think it's still pretty yummy! read more

What a huge store! Lots of space throughout the restaurant and it has a drive thru! Max n Cheese - 7 - It looked plasticy but was actually pretty well flavored. One of the better fast food Mac n cheeses for sure Chicken Slider - 3 - Loved the kale slaw but it needed WAY more. Good sauce level and the bun was sooooooooo so salty It was truly inedible BUT the chicken was high quality and I was hungry. Needed to be a bit crispier as well. Chicken Tenders - 5 Pretty good with Dave's sauce but half of our tenders were soooooooo so so salty like the sliders but a couple were fine. French Fries - 9 - These were fantastic crinkled fries. It was perfectly salted BUT it was after having the chicken so my flavorators might have been off. Dave's sauce Medium spice level was a comfortable spice level that got my sinuses clearing. Hit was only slightly hotter (almost unnoticeable). Employees were nice and gave us all the Dave's sauce we needed. They had a 10% military discount which I love to see. I'll give this place a few months to get it together and try them again. I can't recommend them at this time. read more

I recently visited the much-hyped Dave's Hot chicken for my first time and thought I would leave an initial review. I ordered the Dave's #2 with one hot slider and one medium served with French fries and no pickles. I was immediately impressed by the look of the chicken and knew that it was going to a a delight to bite into. I was impressed by the crispy crunch of the fried chicken batter and the chicken was juicy and succulent. Nice work on the chicken! The sliders are served with kale slaw and I was really looking forward to the pairing of crispy fried chicken with the crunch of the slaw. Sadly, though, there was hardly any slaw on my sliders and what was there was mostly purple cabbage with very little kale - a major disappointment. The fries were kind of droopy and missed the mark for me also. I went through the drive through so I can't comment on the ambience or anything about the inside of the establishment but the drive through service was exceptional and the guy who helped me was super nice and greeted me with a sincere smile. I will definitely be back and hope that next time I get a little more slaw on my slider! Also, I loved both the medium and the hot spice levels but next time I'm going with two hot sliders - the heat is really nice and does not overpower the senses (well mine at least) and it does not distract from the flavor of the chicken. Great service. Fun ambiance. Loved my slider which was not slider size but def bigger. I had the medium but hot tasted tastier. Fries were delicious. Don't know if I care for the sauce. It was just salty? Reaper was a slow burnnnn but it was out in about 3 minutes. Need to sign a waiver. One of my kiddos tried it and a worker felt sorry for him and gave him like a small thing of vanilla ice cream. Meals don't hold well when it was brought to me 30 mins as a togo but when eaten there it's hot and fresh and really yummy. read more

The food was great, but the server, Suhrab, was absolutely foul. He stared at my girlfriend's chest and licked his lips, and kept staring at her while we ate. Service was great, a nice and helpful young man who brought our food out and asked if needed anything and brought us ketchup right away. Dave's Hot Chicken was created by best friends Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan, and Tommy and Gary Rubenyan. Dave, a chef trained in Thomas Keller's (French Laundry) organization set out to create the perfect Hot Chicken by searching, tasting, and frying. The four friends scrounged up $900 to put a tiny stand in an East Hollywood parking lot. The menu was simple, and chicken was the star. And what chicken it is! Sourced and prepared to be the juiciest and most tender imaginable with each piece topped with Dave's own mix of spices ranging from "Mild" to "The Reaper". Arman created Instagram buzz and the lines began to grow. Two nights later, Eater/LA showed up to see what the fuss was about. The next morning's headline read "East Hollywood's Late Night Chicken Stand Might Blow Your Mind". Almost instantly, the lines stretched around the block. A year later, the boys had the money to open a shop in a hip strip-mall with de_cor by local street artists, where the crowds continued to grow with wait-times of an hour and more. From there, the incredibly craveable "Hot and Spicy" varieties have created a cult following with rave reviews across the U.S. and Canada.

History

Established in 2017.

In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept -- take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw -- they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long. After 6 months of running the pop-up with long lines, the team took the plunge and opened their first physical store in January 2018 in a sleepy strip center in East Hollywood. Demand for their crave-able hot chicken exceeded all expectations and sales have grown every month since opening with consistently long lines throughout the day.

I've been here a couple of times already. Don't expect this place to be your typical fast food. They're not your average fast food because if anything, it is fast casual. Service is very well. Horrible experience at Dave's Hot Chicken FOLDOM. The girl at the window was extremely rude--snatching things, making us repeat ourselves, then walking away mid-conversation. She slammed the sliding window multiple times and had a snobby attitude the entire time. We also waited 40 minutes for the person in front of us to move and get there food and was so slow on service. On top of that, she tried to scam us out of our drink and acted like we never ordered it. When we finally got our food, we found FOUR pieces of hair in it--absolutely disgusting! She had black hair and is tan, so if management reads this, please fire her because she clearly doesn't care about customer service or hygiene. Never coming back here again. read more

If you're looking for great hot chicken, this place is definitely worth trying. The chicken is incredibly flavorful, juicy, and cooked perfectly not dry at all. The seasoned fries are outstanding and honestly some of the best I've had. The only downside is the price, which is a little on the high side. Even so, the quality of the food makes it an occasional treat that's worth it. I'll definitely be back. read more

If you are driving to or through Folsom, you have to stop at Dave's hot chicken. It is the BEST chicken sandwich we have ever had. The food is perfectly hot every-time. This is not a "fast food" stop. Service is always wonderful and on point. We need a Dave's in placerville but will continue to drive to Folsom just for the hot chicken sandwich. They even have chicken bites if you are bringing the kids. read more

Also some of the best fries I've ever had, the chicken is also very fresh and comes in an assortment of hot levels for you to choose from. LITERALLY INCREDIBLE!! The chicken was amazing and so so so good, AND, their cheese sauce didn't taste like other cheese sauces. Most cheese sauces are plasticy and gross but THIS ONE WAS FANTASTIC.
