Wanted to try something new. Friendly service and location in brand new. Very simple menu and you're only concern is the level of heat you want. For the "reaper" you'll need to sign a waiver. The sliders are pretty decent size, the chicken itself is very moist. The fries are pretty good with some good seasoning. Everything is made fresh...chicken to batter to fryer. The aioli sauce that comes with it is on the side is pretty good, my only con is they should separate the kale slaw and put it on the side if you're not eating right away. I go to daves hot chicken so much but this time i did 2/21/2025 and like around 7:00 this rude girl would shut the door on our faces and gave us a leaking drink, we also waiting for like 40 mins for the car in front of us and our car to get our food. she was so rude and made me gag. Our food had strands of black hair in both of our chicken meals. She also decieded not to give us our drink until the very end when we had to keep asking her. First time here went thru drive thru with short wait. Took about 5 minutes with 2 cars ahead of me. Drank the chocolate milkshake while waiting which was adequately thick. I ate in comfort at home. The chicken breast was too large for the bun so the first few bites were sans bun, coleslaw, etc. The chicken was prepared with a kind of dry rub which is different than the usual deep fry I'm used to at Chic-fil-a or Popeyes. I asked for medium spice which definitely packed some heat, had some mild sweats. Fries were crinkle cut and were soft on the inside. Overall a respectable new fast food restaurant in Folsom. Visit on 12/19. Decided to stop into this location, as it is walking distance from my office. Definitely a solid lunch spot and I anticipate that I will return in the future when I'm craving a hot chicken sandwich. The atmosphere is very lively with bumping music and cool art. Dining area is very clean and tables are kept clear. I was the only customer dining in but saw several folks drop in to pick up online orders so I felt good about the choice. Food: I ordered the Dave's #2 with 2 sliders and fries. The employee at front counter was super helpful and asked me if I had any questions. After sharing that my ideal spice level is "Tapatio" sauce they recommended I get the Medium spice and I think they were spot on with the recommendation. Spicy but not painful heat level, I appreciated the attentiveness. The combo cost me about $16 after tax and the serving size (and chicken tender size) seemed appropriate for that price. It was too much for a single sitting so if I come back I'll likely get the Dave's #4 single slider combo. Flavor I'd say is about what I've come to expect from other Hot Chicken places, but the location for me can't be beat when I'm working in-office 2x a week. Fries were simply seasoned and perfectly prepared. Staff: again, the employee at the front counter was the only person I interacted with but they were great! Worked efficiently to take my order, answer questions and when my food came out offered to bring honey which I accepted and did not regret! Also checked with me about halfway through my meal, which was unexpected and appreciated. All in all, a very positive experience. I generally only get chicken sandwiches when I'm really craving one but I now see this as a convenient and quality spot to visit when I'm in the area. Food is ok, services are good minus the fact that the employees seem to be instructed to be VERY pushy on buying a drink. Chicken itself is fine, but the bread is very mediocre (cold bread, not grilled/toasted), and it seems to have a bit of a weird flavor that I can't shake. It always takes them forever to hand out orders!! The same people are always just standing around or walking around instead of handing out our food when it's just sitting on the counter. Do they not realize we can see inside???? They always get the drinks last and even then take forever. This location used to be great but overtime it's become bad. First time trying a Daves's. Young man was rude not helpful when I said this is the first time I've been in a Daves so not sure what I want. No one was behind me and only two other people in there. So I ended up ordering just two chicken tenders, fries and a drink. It took 15 minutes to get my order. My husband and I sat down to eat and wow! We could smell the cayenne and paprika a mile away! I really wanted to like it because I was starving but it was God awful. Husband took one bite and said Nope not eating it! I picked off what I could and ate a couple of bites. Came in the store and Marco took my order and was very nice. I ordered a #2 sliders, then paid to add cheese on one of them. Got my food and drove home with the friend I was sharing the food with, mind you I live about 30 min from this location and was just stopping there since it was close to my work. When i get home me and my friend go to eat the sliders and I look to see which one has cheese and none of them did, it was my mistake not to check it when I got it and that's where everything goes downhill. I call the store and ask for the manager, I proceed to tell her about my issue simply just wanting a solution to my small problem. Ceci, the manager proceeds to basically not care about my problem and hand it off to whoever is above her, she gave me a phone number to call without telling me who it was or even a name. I then called the number and was told my only option was to go back to the store and get a refund for only one slider, no remaking it or anything. I'm extremely disappointed with the customer service I just got from this place and how everyone in the company handled this small issue in general. Upon coming in I was greeted by a nice young lady and I was able to order right away; nice! I ordered the two sliders, and boy was I blown away by that chicken! Three of us arrived, two separate orders totaling three meals. After waiting 30 minutes, the cashier asked for our order numbers to check on our food. After waiting 20 more minutes we went up to the counter for an update. It seemed our orders were never entered into their system so they never made them. The cook then requested our receipts to quickly make our food. After 20 more minutes of waiting (we were keeping track at this point), we finally received our three meals.. with three of them having a wrong item. Since we had to wait so long and we got the wrong things, we asked for one complimentary side of mac and cheese. The manager working on 05/03 around 7:30pm then said our wait time wasn't possible since it only said a 20 minute wait in their system.. basically calling us liars. The cashier who took our order didn't vouch for us. The manager then asked us if we wanted a refund, so we requested a side of mac. She couldn't offer a free item. So we went back and requested a refund to purchase this Mac and she said a refund wasn't possible without their district manager for a $35 order. Basically had to fight for some resolution eventually getting two free shakes which was nice, but we ended up leaving after an hour and a half dissatisfied with the entire experience. Look, we never speak up about little mistakes in our orders. We never ask for refunds. But the service at this place on this day needs to be assessed because it was highly unprofessional and could've been handled better way. My regret? Not picking somewhere else to eat and not getting the managers name. We don't usually write reviews either but this one was worthy. (Food was delicious though) read more

My milkshake was more like a milk drink and their spice level is 1-2 levels hotter than any location you've been too so watch out for that. The best "hot" chicken sandwich I've ever had. I had to add the cheese as that's a must for me. I opted for the medium spice level and to my disappointment it had zero heat to it. I waited for almost 30 minutes in the drive thru and watched while 3 of the employees were texting on their phone and joking around. While I was waiting one of the employees found something in the drain that looked like a mouse and one of them pulled it out of the drain with their work gloves on. As that was happening the other two took out their cell phones and snapped a picture of it. They were all laughing and playing around as I sat waiting for my food. I've been eating at Dave's hot chicken for about 2 years now in the bay area. My family and I where passing by when we stopped at this particular location. I ordered the number 4 meal (hot) as we always do. There must have been some kind if mix up because this was reaper hot and inedible afer 1 bite. Same for my son he was also unable to eat it. I took it back to cashier and notified her of a potential mix up and perhaps wrong spice level applied and she apologized and went back to manager if we could get another sand which and she was told by her manager to tell us no, she even tried a 2nd time with no sucess. The manager didnt even come out to address our concern. I got to say im disappointed since our local daves hot chicken in Santa Clara is awesome and we enjoy the (Hot) all the time. Service and food is horrible here at Folsom. We might try again on our way to Tahoe again but I will be wary next time. Unfortunate experience.
