This location is awesome! Especially Diego. If he's there, say hello from one of his biggest fans. Aside from the fantastic service, Dave's always delivers, especially for those late night cravings. This is one of our favorite places in Los Angeles so when they showed up in the neighborhood, I was excited to say the least. There are few places where you can get legit amazing chicken at midnight-1am. Always love the sliders either cheese. I'm about to try the Chicken bites and Oreo Shake for the first time so will update the review! Love the graffiti vibes that out us right back in the OG LA joint. I've tried Dave's twice and I love it - wish there was one closer to me! You can choose your spice level, the medium spice is my favorite. The sliders are awesome: great bun, sauce, & coleslaw is really good. I usually hate coleslaw but Dave's is yummy! This location has indoor & covered outdoor seating. I saw a TikTok of a girl talking about how flavorless raising canes chicken was compared to Dave's hot chicken so I had to try it out for myself. While I enjoyed the food I can't say I agree with it having more flavor than raising canes. I got the chicken sandwich and the cheese just made the whole thing taste weird so my only suggestion is to make sure you order it without cheese. Overall a good experience. read more

I did the slider and tender combo and my friend did the tenders combo and added an extra. We both did medium heat. Enjoyed every bite but we couldn't finish the extra tenders. I would consider myself someone of a chicken tender connoisseur. The menu is pretty unique, and you can get quite a bit of food. So if you're like my husband you'll probably be stoked to find that you can get a sandwich AND a tender AND fries! A dream come true. I also really liked the ambiance of the restaurant- it was a cool, fun, trendy and chill vibe. Service was pretty good, with our food coming out pretty quickly even on a busy Friday night. I wasn't a huge fan of the flavor. The chicken/spices were pretty dry- just not really my style. They also give you so little sauce- which was just funny to me the toast was confusing to me... it's really just two pieces of generic white bread from a grocery store... maybe that's some people's vibe! Just not mine! I expect a little more when paying $30 for two meals. I probably won't be back but I know this place has some good reviews so give it a try- maybe you'll like it more than me! read more

1st time in Dave's Hot Chicken. My son Raved about it. I got Dave's #2 which 2 chicken sliders, it includes fries. I also got a Mac and cheese as I'm always eat more than I need too. Ordered for 5 of us. I left a generous tip and it came to $125. Everyone did get shakes. Chicken sandwich was every bite of hot and had intense flavor. Fries are very good. Mac and cheese was a little disappointing. Service was good. I'd come back but probably try something different next time. It gives Chick filet and run for its money. Check it out. read more

I was really excited to see Dave's Hot Chicken in Midvale and it's so close to my work. My first experience was in Denver and it was so good! So good that I was planning my next trip back to Denver next year to get my fix again. Unfortunately, I might have to do that because this one doesn't compare. I ordered the hot chicken tender and slider with fries for $12.99. I've must've recently become a weak sauce to spicy because it was really spicy! The chicken was extremely salty and the breading was a bit much. It looked and tasted overcooked. The French fries were delicious though! Very little fry sauce/Dave dressing so ask for extra. OK, let me start off by saying I have eaten at Dave's Hot Chicken in California and it is been amazingly delicious. So when I saw that there was one nearby my hotel here in Utah I said let's go. I did order a slider, mild and received a hot and I just about died Because I do not do spicy at that level. I did take it back to the counter and told them that they almost killed me and that they apologize and gave me what I originally asked for. So for that, I'm not going to take away anything besides that was just perfect customer service. The place inside is is cool. It's decorated kind of edgy with a bunch of graffiti style on the walls And has music. That's pretty loud but hey, it's the kind of a hit place to go to. I saw a commercial, last night, for Dave's Hot Chicken's NOT Chicken, which is deep fried cauliflower, and just had to try it, so I checked it out, today. The restaurant is a bare-bones counter-service place with table and counter seating. The friendly cashier Diana helped me order Cauliflower Bites medium hot, but I also wanted to try the chicken, so I added a Chicken Tender reaper hot. Diana warned me that it's truly hot and had me sign a waiver. Yes, you must sign a waiver. The risks listed on the waiver include, ". . .even death." I began to worry. Diana gave me a beeper and I sat down at a counter seat by the front window. I had arrived after a large party of six, so I figured that I might have to wait a while for my food. Plus, they make everything to order, including orders through their app. It ended up taking 20 minutes for my food to be ready, which felt a bit long, but the woman at the counter apologized for the wait. Both the cauliflower and the chicken were served atop a single slice of white bread with a small container of pink sauce (fry sauce?) and several cold slices of pickle. The Cauliflower Bites were good; tender, moist and tasty. In my opinion, medium hot was on the mild side of medium. I could feel it, but didn't feel the need to drink anything, which was good, because I purposely did NOT get anything to drink. The Chicken Tender was very large; like, half of a large chicken breast large. It was also tender, moist and tasty. The red chili powder on the tender had a touch of chili powder bitterness, but it wasn't unpleasant. I'm not a nibbler and, by my third bite, the heat started to build and I started to cry. However, in my experience, spicy hot foods hurt more when you stop eating, so I kept going. It was painfully hot, but, like I said, also tender, moist and tasty. The thing that was missing for me in both the Cauliflower Bites and the Chicken Tender was crunch. It's deep fried food! It should be CRUNCHY! I'm not a spicy hot food person, so this'll do me for while; maybe years. However, I will probably return in the near future to try a medium hot Slider with Fries; chicken, not cauliflower. read more

I came to Dave's Hot Chicken a few months ago after staying late at karate and it was one of the few places open in Midvale that would allow you to eat in. The place was clean and decorated with a fun and bright motif. I loved the chicken details all around too. I got a tender sandwich? and some fries. The staff was helpful in helping me decide what to get. Overall the food was good. It wouldn't be my first choice when craving a chicken sandwich, but I would definitely visit again. read more

I'm gonna be so real: I didn't understand why Utah needed another chicken tender place. We have Chick-fil-A, we have Cane's, we even have Popeye's and KFC. I was wrong. First time at Dave's & we're pleasantly surprised. We ordered two of their #3's (1 tender & 1 slider w/fries) heat level lite mild/medium & they were very good. Chicken was flavorful and had a nice crunch to it. We had MacnCheese and cheese fries (reg fries as well) also, m&c was nice and semi thick with a good cheese flavor, the cheese fries were just that...cheese fries. If you're from Cali you'll be disappointed that they don't have ranch lol BUT the Dave's sauce is a good sub. My only downsides is they don't have combos, so yes you'll have to order your drinks with an additional charge & we wished their fries were a bit crunchier. Overall 7.5/10 read more

Dave's Hot Chicken was created by best friends Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan, and Tommy and Gary Rubenyan. Dave, a chef trained in Thomas Keller's (French Laundry) organization set out to create the perfect Hot Chicken by searching, tasting, and frying. The four friends scrounged up $900 to put a tiny stand in an East Hollywood parking lot. The menu was simple, and chicken was the star. And what chicken it is! Sourced and prepared to be the juiciest and most tender imaginable with each piece topped with Dave's own mix of spices ranging from "Mild" to "The Reaper". Arman created Instagram buzz and the lines began to grow. Two nights later, Eater/LA showed up to see what the fuss was about. The next morning's headline read "East Hollywood's Late Night Chicken Stand Might Blow Your Mind". Almost instantly, the lines stretched around the block. A year later, the boys had the money to open a shop in a hip strip-mall with de_cor by local street artists, where the crowds continued to grow with wait-times of an hour and more. From there, the incredibly craveable "Hot and Spicy" varieties have created a cult following with rave reviews across the U.S. and Canada.

In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept -- take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw -- they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long. After 6 months of running the pop-up with long lines, the team took the plunge and opened their first physical store in January 2018 in a sleepy strip center in East Hollywood. Demand for their crave-able hot chicken exceeded all expectations and sales have grown every month since opening with consistently long lines throughout the day.

It's an absurd policy considering they still have every single ingredient to make it sitting right there on the prep line, so I initially left a 1-star review on Google out of frustration. Almost immediately, a local manager left me a personalized voicemail. He told me the refusal was just a "pricing miscommunication" and explicitly promised that the store would continue to make the sandwich for me. Thinking this was a stellar example of a local business looking out for its regulars, I happily bumped my review up to 5 stars. It was a complete bait-and-switch. The exact same day I changed my rating, I received an email from an executive at Laguna Capital Partners completely contradicting the voicemail, stating they actually would not make the sub. I replied directly, attached the audio file of their own manager's voicemail, and asked for a simple "yes or no" clarification so I wouldn't waste my time driving down there. They completely ghosted me. They deployed a manager to make false promises to a regular customer purely to artificially inflate their metrics, and then hid behind corporate policy the second they got the 5-star rating they wanted. I explicitly told them I didn't want the free coupons they tried to throw at me--I just wanted to purchase my favorite sandwich. If you value businesses with integrity that actually care about the Cottonwood Heights community, take your money to a different sub shop.
