I've drove past this location and the one on Capitol Drive multiple times and after seeing a commercial for them recently I wanted to give them a try. From reading the reviews and seeing pictures of the food I was really looking forward to giving them a try. I was on the east side yesterday and after going over the menu earlier that day I decided I wanted to go with the a slider with medium heat along with a side of mac and cheese. When I arrived it wasn't busy so I was glad to place my order and be on my way home to dive into my food. After I was handed my food, my bag felt a little light and thought there was no way there was a sandwich and mac and cheese in here. When I got inside my car I double checked to see which I was glad to see it was what I ordered and was just my imagination and I also wanted to double check that my sandwich was prepared with no toppings as well. They did provide me the Dave sauce on the side in case I decided to put it on my sandwich. As I was heading home, the seasoning of the chicken was permeating inside my car and from what I was smelling I was concerned if I would like the sandwich because it smelled like I ordered chili and not what I was expecting. I didn't want to be a Debbie downer before I tried my food, so I kept a positive mindset. I first tried the mac and cheese. It was decent for coming from a franchise joint. The cheese wasn't overpowering and the macaroni wasn't mushy. I would have to say it was pretty proper. As for the chicken, I wish I could say the same. The bun was toasted which was nice but the chicken didn't have much crunch to it, just a little. When I tried a bite it tasted just like the smell in my car. I felt that it was too heavy on the chili powder and the touch of sweetness of it was throwing me off. I'm sorry to say the overall seasoning I was just not a fan of and I tasted a little of the Dave sauce and it didn't win me over either. I will say the plus thing about the chicken was that it was juicy and not dry. I don't take pleasure in leaving a review with 2 stars, but there was nothing about the sandwich that wowed me and again the slight sweetness I thought was weird. I will say I that I would get the mac and cheese again, that I can say was pretty tasty.

Soooo... I'm pretty snotty when it comes to hot (spicy) foods and like to think I can take it all. I know now I can't. PRELUDE: After a friend told me that Dave's hot chickens are really hot, I said, ok, it depends on who said it. Everyone's tolerance and opinion of spicy level is different. But hany and I have a pretty high threshold. Like But-dak ramen doesn't phase us. I don't drop a sweat with level 10 Thai dishes, for the most part. With this long drawn out pride for loving spicy food... I didn't want to get the combo or sliders and had to decide between their bites and tenders. I decided on the tenders, since "hot" was the highest level for bites, and I wanted to try the reaper. SUGGESTION: As a suggestion, I wish Dave's let you choose how many of each of the 2 heat levels you want. Their box comes with 10 tenders, and you can only choose 2 heats, 5 each. But really, no one wants or needs 5 reapers. The only other option is to get 1 reaper, and then mild and medium, and no choice of hot or very hot. SERVICE: I got 5 reapers and 5 hot. I ordered online and went to pick up at the time the app told me, but I had to wait about 15 minutes longer than what the app said. While I was waiting, no one greeted me or acknowledged me. The gal at the counter was quick and efficient, but never smiled and not easy to ask for help. A guy came out after I got my order (I think he was the manager) and thanked me for the business and gave a nice smile before greeting me out. FOOD: So the hot was good. I think. It has nice flavors without being just hot. The "reaper" on the other had... OK, so it had flavors. But the spiciness just overpowered everything else. I had 2 bites (cuz I'm crazy and didn't know better after my first bite). And I felt that chicken all the way from when it went in my mouth to when it came out. ALL the way. I also used my fingers to pick up the chicken... My hands were fine (I handle hot peppers and spices in cooking all the time and my hands are quite desensitized), but 5 hours later when I was taking my makeup off, my eyes stung. Yes, I did wash my hands out in between. Even did the dishes. Hany also had the bread that was placed under the tenders on the tray the next day, but that also upset his stomach as much as the 2 bites had the night before. He seriously contemplated going to the ER. So read their waiver and release of liability when ordering the reaper and eat at your own peril. OVERALL: Hany refuses to ever eat from here again, but I kinda liked their taste. The hot ones, NOT the reaper. I might even try their "very hot" level again. But I will use utensils and take it one bite at a time.

    Very urban looking

I don't discriminate with the new restaurant of the week so I will do fast food up to a nice restaurant and everything in between including sketchy neighborhood restaurants. First off I was intrigued by a fast food restaurant achieving 4.5 stars which is basically unheard of for a fast food chain let alone for great restaurants. Dave's menu is simple and small with fried chicken tenders with your specific heat level and sides basically. The place itself is urban looking with a graffiti decor that has some neon. I ordered the #3 hot which is one slider, one tender, frys, slice of wonder style generic bread, sweet pickles and a side of Dave's sauce. I got my order to go since the place was packed which didn't take long. My order looked fantastic by the way. OMG everything was hot fresh out of fryer/hot cooked to order including the frys. The frys looked absolutely amazing because they were crinkle which I hate with a passion but seasoned all over. The fry were delicious because they were lightly crispy and soft on the inside seasoned nicely, if all crinkle frys were this good I wouldn't hate them in general. The hot chicken slider was hot/delicious with a thin crispy batter and moist/tender white meat chicken with the texture of being marinated that gives it the tenderness you can't achieve with raw chicken. The slider came on a perfect soft fresh bun with Dave's sauce and kale coleslaw, it's that simple and f#@king delicious. I rarely give a fast food chain 4 stars but Dave's hot chicken has their s*it together with a hot/fresh quality product that is different from everyone's chicken sandwich thing. For fast food Dave's hit this one out of the park

Dave's 2 slider combo- hottttt and tasty!!

The chicken sliders were so tender and juicy and had a great amount of flavor with the extra honey and daves sauce! Also the customer service was great and all the employees were happy and cheerful about asking how my experience was. The hot spice level is definetly hot af but so worth it! 2 sliders and Cajun fries for 15$n overall great experience and would go back!

Fun music, cool decor, and friendly staff. Today is their grand opening and they were on top of it! I was greeted immediately by the GM and they were fully staffed which was awesome to see post-Covid times. Food was coming out quick and this place is packed. They had a good system down and it didn't take long before I got my food. Obviously this is a well known brand but this location is perfect. A little congested getting in and out of the east point lot but what else do you expect being next to other top brand chain restaurants. The online order option is coming soon but not available for grand opening. I got the two tender plate (lite mild) and my boyfriend got the tender and slider combo (medium). The GM suggested the "hot" as the most popular option, but I'm kind of a baby when it comes to spice and I'd rather work my way up when I know better what to expect. I had a friend come to the grand opening as well. He's someone that likes spicy food but regretted getting the hot. Food was bomb! Sauce is like canes or Chick-fil-A but tastes more mayo based. 100% coming back!! Medium was a perfect mix and not too spicy. I really enjoyed the seasoning on the lite.

Great option for lunch at work. I get the "No spice" chicken and their mac & cheese is very creamy and tasty. This franchise has great food.

I really enjoy Dave's hot chicken and am really glad they opened a location downtown! We got sliders and tenders, Mac and fries. The chicken at medium was delicious! As we're the sides. I'd do the sliders again but they aren't sliders, they are full blown chicken sandwiches. The food is great but expensive. Two meals was $35 and they made us buy a bottle for water which is kind of frustrating. Solid spot, good service, clean. Will only get the slider next time tho bc woah! So much food.

    Nava L.

Dave's hot chicken is great! I got the special that comes with 2 hot chicken sliders, fries, pickles, and Dave's sauce. I also added cheese to both sliders. The chicken was tender and the spice level was perfect. It wasn't so spicy that it took over but it was more like a spicy flavor. The sauce mixed with honey ended up being a great dipping sauce for the sandwich and the fries. The service was fast and the workers were really nice. The place itself was clean and the music was great. Overall would definitely go back and maybe split the meal with someone cause it's huge.

Single tender slider is more than enough food.
    Colleen L.

This is some good fast food! Clean, friendly, tasty. They highlight the double slider meal but my single tender slider was more than enough for a meal, comes with fries as well.

Most of those spots only open for dinner, so I was thrilled to find that Bavette La Boucherie now serves lunch. My friend, a local, told me the restaurant originally began as a butcher shop. While that's no longer the case, the space still pays tribute to its roots -- shelves lined with kitchen knick-knacks, butcher-block counters, and a display of local provisions that hint at its past. Chef-owner Karen Bell leads the way here, and you can feel her touch throughout -- from the creative menu to the casual-elegant vibe. The décor blends exposed brick and warm wood with soft light and a friendly hum from the open kitchen. Our server, Matthew R., had only been with Bavette a couple of weeks, but his background in restaurant management showed. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and offered great suggestions. Before our sandwiches arrived, we shared a cup of pork and tomatillo pozole topped with cabbage slaw and a dollop of sour cream. It was piping hot, bright, and deeply flavorful -- the kind of starter that makes you stop talking for a minute just to enjoy the next spoonful. Having read rave reviews of the Korean steak au jus, I nearly ordered it, but Matthew suggested the roast-beef with cheddar since I'm not a big lunch eater. Excellent call. The sandwich was divine -- tender, flavorful beef layered with melted cheddar on a crisp, perfectly toasted roll. The beef-fat fries had great depth of flavor, though I'd love them even more if they were twice-cooked for that extra crunch. Being more of a gin or vodka drinker, I couldn't resist the Gin Old Fashioned on the cocktail list. It was delicious -- smooth, aromatic, and balanced enough that I happily ordered a second. Great food, warm service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Bavette La Boucherie is a gem I can't wait to revisit.
