Wow. Enough said. Done. Seriously, this place rocks. The sandwiches are made from tenders that are huge. Sometimes you will get a tender a bit bigger than another time it any time, they sizes of the tender is great. The breading and sauce are out of this world. They have no sauce, mild, medium, hot, extra hot and reaper, which for the reaper you need to sign a form. I have not tried the reaper. I usually do mild and sometimes get medium. The medium has a nice kick to it but what I like about the heat is it does not linger. The sandwiches come on sliders with kale slaw which is great as well as very good pickles. I am not a big fan of pickles but do eat the sandwich with pickles sometimes for variety. The fries are crinkle cut with great seasoning on them. It comes with a side of their secret sauce which is excellent. You can also get a pack of Crystal Luisiana hot sauce to kick it up a notch. I love Crystal sauce, I use it at home all the time. The milkshakes are very good as well. The staff there, when they first opened, they have been open a few months, had some small issues. But now it's a well oiled machine. The day they had the free sandwich promo I was blown away by how they handled the crowd. They had someone at the door limiting the amount of people that came in at a time to make the order and eating experience if you ate in store like a normal day. I decided to pop in for a late lunch on a weekday. I arrived just in time as several groups of kids came in right after me. I ordered the two tenders (although the picture looks like I got three) and fries. I went with the "hot" level of spice and it was spot on. Maybe even a tad more spicy than I was anticipating. New hot chicken sandwich restaurant in the NoVA region! Honestly, I've had this brand of fried chicken sandwiches in Los Angeles in the past a couple times. However, I was surprised to see that it was going to be right here in Tysons Corner, VA. Last month I visited during lunchtime on a Friday with two of my friends and we got the sliders and also tried the tenders. Overall, the flavors were pretty spot on, the portion sizes were great, and the spice levels were excellent. It was also pretty busy all around. These is one of those places which I consider a success with a simple menu. You go to Dave's to get the chicken slider and have it seasoned to your taste. I've gone many, many times and they don't disappoint. They deliver a consistent juicy and well spiced chicken. Don't be fooled by the name "slider"; one slider is a full meal. After a workout I decided to give Dave's Hot Chicken a try. To explain the 3 star review is based on the food for the price. The chicken is actually quite good. I got medium to start on the middle spicewise. It was chili powder forward, with a little salt and sugar to hit the different taste buds. Medium was not too hot by any means, it was exactly that, medium which I appreciate. The coating was very crispy, which is another plus for their strips. The fries could use a makeover, I was not a fan. I got cheese fries substituted for $1.50 more and given the small size of the fries, the added cost for cheese is a steep addition. Overall, I got 2 chicken strips and a little bit of fries for $14, which I think is pricey. I typically review food based on the food you get for the price. If it were $10, this would be a 4 star review, and if the fries were tasty it would be 5 star, but as is the culinary experience for the price is a solid 3 stars. I do wish they had other options too for bone in chicken, and perhaps fish or some other variety on the menu. Looking back at the menu, you can order a single tender or single slider instead of the meal, which might be the way to go, but I will have to try their Mac n cheese as an alternative to their fries. Next time I will just order a single tender or single slider instead of the meal. I came in here for a late dinner and I was glad that they were still open. I've been here a few times and I actually have a couple of favorites. I decided to order one of my regular platters which is the first combo on their menu board. That would be the 2 chicken tenders with their fries, and a slice of bread. The platter included a pickle which is what I ate first. For the drink I just requested a bottled water. There were several employees who were working behind the counter and in the kitchen, so placing my order was fast. Luckily I found a table, although the place was mad busy. There is nothing quiet or chill about this restaurant at all, and that is to be expected from a place that is so popular like this. Disappointing.. I took my Dad here for lunch. It was busy, & The man taking orders was rude & impatient. He wouldn't scan my rewards, & got upset about that. (with Chick-fil-A on top) Dave's did not disappoint, but they are not taking the top spot, nor did they stand out from the mid-tier chicken places. The chicken was juicy, hot, and flavorful. There was a light coat of seasoning that I enjoyed, however, i prefer to get some crunch out of my fried chicken, and these sandwiches didn't have that. I also enjoyed the serving sizes. You get a lot of quality chicken for your money. The sliders are basically full sized sandwiches. The fries were regular crinkle fries (I didn't taste the season) and the sauce was really good. Overall, I would definitely visit Dave's again when I am visiting NOVA, if only for a break from the normal chicken restaurants. A fun spot with awesome and colorful artwork! Located at the end of a strip mall, we found parking easy in the back. We tried the slider and tenders at level medium and they still had some spice to them and a lot of flavor. I'm not a huge fan of Nashville hot chicken but this was good, I might just opt for mild next time. The tenders were huge, we ordered 3 in one meal but 2 is plenty for next time. The slider was my favorite as the slaw really helped to offset the heat. Fries were good as well, a little salty, however. Service was quick from ordering and although they forgot my fries at first, they were quick to fix this. Friendly employees all around. Sometimes you just have to say "let's do this." Am happy this chain is now in the area. They are one of my favorites. I love combining Tennessee and South Korea! The hot chicken sandwiches here are no joke. I will stick to the mild as that's spicy enough, but truly nutty folks will love the various heat levels. The fries are awesome! What a fun place. Amazingly red, seasoned fried chicken that I thoroughly enjoyed. The reason my rating dropped is due to the cashier being incredibly rude to me. I asked a simple question to speak to the manager because I had a question about a family member of mine who has dietary restrictions... instead of turning around and calling his manager, he goes, "Go get the manager then." I was shocked. The manager ended up being an arms length away and addressed me quickly. But I couldn't understand why the Cashier couldn't just turn his head slightly and signal over the manager. The lines were long but moving really fast and I really appreciated that there was an employee managing the line. Our food took about 15-20 min to get ready and there was ample seating. Tried the #3 and it was a good amount food. I do think their spice level is not that hot compared to other restaurants like Hangry Joe's. Slick concept, below average tasting food, expensive for what it is. My high school kid begged me to get him some Dave's Hot Chicken to sustain him during his weekend gaming session. I got him the tender plus slider combo with fries for $13 and got myself a single tender for $4.70 to try it out. Both "Hot" spice level. The food portions are okay, I would be fine with the price to food portion level if the taste is good. There is a *LOT* of competition in the spicy chicken sandwich and tenders market and there is some overlap with the Korean friend chicken joints as well. The heat was there, and there was seasoning, but the taste is just bland with no depth. The chicken tasted bland other than the breading and seasoning and even the seasoning itself tasted very simple: salt and heat. The chicken was just slightly on the overcooked side, but that's okay - I'm not going to require perfect doneness for fast food, but a lot of fast food hot chicken joints gets this right consistently - it depends on the crew. With the sauce they packed in, it was edible, but I debated myself whether I should waste precious calories on subpar food. Overall, I would rank the chicken flavor below that of even friend chicken chains like Popeyes and KFC. There were a lot of high schoolers in the restaurant when I went to pick up the order. This 3 star rating is based off the food alone. I'll start by saying if you're not a fan of paprika... you will not care for the chicken. Aside from that... the chicken is not flavorful. I heard some people complaining about how the chicken is not coated in sauce, so beware that the chicken is more of a dry rub and is well seasoned. Friday night and I'm tired after a long week of work and in the mood for something different for dinner. Checked Yelp for new and hot restaurants and saw that Dave's finally opened. In fact, today is opening day. Cool! Stopped by to find a good crowd waiting in line to order and get their food. The indoor seating was full and the outdoor seating was about half full. Definitely a good sign. Ordered the #3 which is a sandwich and piece of chicken with fries and pickles and also ordered a side of mac n cheese. Got it to go so that I could relax and watch a movie while eating and having a nice cold beer. Got home, tore the top off of the to go container that was conveniently perforated for removal, sat down and took a bite of the slider. Wow!! Juicy, spicy chicken that had some good heat (I got the hot). There was a little slaw and a few pickles on the sandwich. It was awesome! Before I even realized it, half of the sandwich was gone. I forgot that I had fries. I'm not usually a fan of fries that I get to go. These are sort of a krinkle cut and had a really nice crispness to them. They also had some type of spicy coating. They were delicious! I decided to try the other piece of chicken. It was fried and covered with a thick spicy coating. It was also excellent. I ate everything and almost forgot about the mac n cheese. It was super creamy and also had a good amount of spicy hotness to it. What a fantastic addition to the Tyson's area. The tenders themselves are not tossed the way most Nashville hots are done, Dave's tosses them in dry ingredients. There was really no flavor and if anything the dry rub was chalky.
