while I was in Tallahassee for work for a few months, I tried to have pizza on Fridays as a way to relax and decompress from the week. I was on this part of town because I found a sauna to try and on my way back to my hotel I looked up the closest pizza place. This place was busy and seems like a neighborhood favorite. I was quickly greeted and ordered a pizza and a salad and went outside outside to sit on their very large patio. My food was brought to me in a timely manner. It didn't take too long, but it was definitely cooked fresh. I made it a pattern to get a Bianca style or no tomato sauce type pizza and a Caesar salad at most of the restaurants. I tried while in Tallahassee. So I ordered a pizza with a non-tomato base. It was absolutely delicious. Well cooked good toppings and I really liked it. The Caesar salad I added chicken too because there was no meat on the pizza and I believe they don't charge extra for chicken so that was nice. The salad was great. Everything was great and the atmosphere seems like a fun family place to have pizza. They also had ice cream. And if I wasn't full and moderately lactose intolerant, I would've gotten some ice cream. But again I was staying in a hotel with no freezer so I didn't wanna risk having to eat it quickly. read more

Daves has been one of my favorite local spots for quite some time. I first started coming here when my wife and I started dating and I've been coming back ever since. I miss the old school arcade games but the pizza is still good. We end up getting the same pizza every time we come, the Cheap chicken finger. We took the kids for pizza. The inside of Dave is nice and quaint. The atmosphere was pretty good too. The staff was good. The only issue I have it closes too early. Tried Bradley's sausage pizzas today with the picky eater getting Bradley's and extra cheese and this adventurer trying the Bradley's Devil Dog pizza. Both were delicious. In all of the visits we have never been disappointed by what we had. Dave's has a unique and creative menu with many tasty options. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Service has always been friendly and efficient. They give you styrofoam cups to fill your drinks from the machine nearby. We made it 30m before closing for me to enjoy a personal pan pepperoni pizza and for my guy to get a personal pan chief chicken finger with extra buffalo sauce. Lo and behold, who is there to bring the pizza and Abita root beer? Dave! We talked it up about his teaching days turned pizza chef and dug in on one of the best pizza spots in TLH. So good! We got Dave's delivered on a lazy Sunday night and it was so yummy. The pizza was delicious. We got pepperoni and it's the pepperoni that flips up when cooked (the best kind). The pepperoni has amazing flavor and the cheese is thick! This is not thin, NY style pizza. It's thick crust and very very filling. But, that did not stop me from indulging in the delicious five cheese calzone. It's bread filled with cheese - my two favorite food groups - so to say I liked it would be an understatement. The appetizer was so-so. Don't get my wrong, I ate them but they just didn't compare to the pizza and the calzone. Overall, this restaurant is super delicious with a great menu. I order a box of mild and a box of hot wings with a large cheese pizza my tummy was very loud about its feelings. The food came out quickly, hot, and just as I ordered it. The crust and marinara are solid and I can promise you that both the take home pizza kit and taking home a pre-baked pizza to go are worth making the drive to Bannerman Crossing for. Because of the restaurant's name, it's easy to forget that they serve more than pizza, but don't forget about their wings! You can buy Dave's Signature Wing Sauce by the bottle and after tasting it, I will continue to buy it by the bottle. It's a vinegar-based sauce that tastes a bit like a thicker, more complex and aromatic Crystal Sauce. It might be the perfect wing sauce. If they are serving them, the Toasted Teriyaki and Hooter Brown Beer-B-Q sauces are also delightful. This is a five star establishment. I was introduced to DPG through a virtual Yelp event and I forgot half of my ingredients at home. I reached out to Dave and he graciously said I could get another at-home pizza kit! I decided to play an order to try out some of the other items I heard mentioned on the virtual pizza making event. I had a cheese pizza kit I put together myself, their BBQ wings, full-sized savory apple salad, fried cauliflower bites (Starter Spark Plugs) and for dessert I tried their mint chocolate chip ice cream, cookies n cream, brookie *and* chocolate chip cookies (clearly I wanted to try a lot) ! But I'm glad. It was so good! The salad was delicious! I only wish I ordered extra dressing and there was enough for both my hubby and I to have some and still have leftovers. Ordered a few pizzas and some cheesy breadsticks for a small-ish family gathering last Sunday and Dave's came through with the timing and food! All the varieties of pizzas we had were so good and good at every size which isn't always the case. The service I got on the phone was excellent and when picking up as well. Yesterday was my first time at Dave's Pizza Garage. I was served by James primarily, but also Hannah. They were so helpful and courteous. James said they are known for their meat-stuffed pizza logs and wings. Since I don't eat meat and asked about vegetarian options, James recommended the five-speed cheese calzone, the cheesy lugnuts (cheese curds), and the Brookies (chocolate brownie decadence)...I got them to go, and started eating the cheese curds on the way home. Everything was fabulous. I especially enjoyed the unique way the calzone is made...I liked it better than most calzones I have had in my life! I also really appreciated how safe the restaurant felt. Inside dining is closed, and the outdoor seating is nice and covered. They also have heaters outside (not that we would need them very often here!). I ordered a local brew, Lake Tribe Satsuma wheat, while I was waiting on everything cooking, and it was delicious. There were many other local brews to choose from including my favorite Deep Brewing. I was impressed with all the safety protocols in place. Next time I go, I'm going to order some chocolate mint ice cream, too! It looks like they have a nice selection of ice creams. My only suggestion for improvement would be to stop using styrofoam...I would pay more for more sustainable options. Thanks to the initial introduction to this restaurant by Tallahassee Foodies then a great event by Yelp plus ordering some awesome food, I am now a fan of Dave's Pizza Garage and I will be getting take out from there again. read more

Okay. I've known about Dave's for some time, but never made it to their old location, or their new location, until now. Wow. This is good stuff. We did 15 mild wings (kids present) and a large meat pizza. The wings were great. Now my new favorite wings in the NE of Tally...make that all of Tally. Really crispy and the sauce was spot on. The pizza was delish. My son declared that it beat out his other favorite in town, now to be his new favorite. It is a very good pie, different than anything else in town. I love the pepperonis as it reminded me of a pizza join I grew up eating from as a kid. Give this place a shot. My husband and I had a great late lunch at Dave's the other day. Everything was cooked perfectly! I get my pizza without sauce, and they have no issues accommodating any special request. As you can see I had them deconstruct the Poutine (I really like my fries crispy) and it was SO good - lots of cheese and gravy that was delicious!! The pizza is very good - a soft crispy crust (if that makes sense) not chewy or hard. Mine has shaved ham with crispy bacon and I always enjoy it!! My husband really enjoyed his Supremo pizza - he did say the pepperoni has a bit of a kick, but not too much that you couldn't enjoy it. Every time we have ordered the Lugnuts they have come out perfectly hot and crispy (not greasy at all) I have eaten there several time now and have not been disappointed at all!! Kudos to Dave's for creating a great patio space during Covid. You can dine inside, outside, or like many I saw, pick up take out. We split wings with my favorite house sauce, you can buy Dave's for home which I have and it's delicious. It has just enough bite to make me wonder if I ordered to hot but it's not too hot...it's just right! Wings were tender and tasty, the blue cheese dressing was pretty thick and although that's a sign of quality, at home I usually dilute it to make it easier to use. It would be nice if they went to paper menus for 2 reasons...Covid safety and ease of adjusting prices as they fluctuate frequently due to the rapid rise of raw product cost, I think 2 things would help here.
