I have thousands of dollars worth of dental work in my mouth and it's critical to protect my investment with great dental professionals. Dr. Heft clearly knows her stuff. Her assistant, Jessica, is excellent. Kerry, the hygienist, did a thorough and careful cleaning. I can't speak for the other dentists, but it's a beautiful facility with modern technology. I would think you'd be in good hands with any of them. But I'll be sticking with Dr. Heft.

(Went to fix two chipped teeth and before I reached home they fell off so I had to turn around and get them redone) they were helpful though and it wasn't a problem for them to see me again the same day. Dr. Priya takes good care of my teeth and I try to see her at all my visits. Very gentle and caring and tells you as it is but in a very caring way. I'm always comfortable and even when my daughter comes with me to the visits she is able to sit in a little play area they have for kids and watch tv or play. She also is able to get a token and get something from the gumball machine which she loves. The assistants are so personable and friendly. Their rooms are always clean and fresh and not to mention their front desk staff Stephanie, she is so gentle and understanding.

I needed a cleaning and either an implant or a bridge for a broken tooth. The new patient cleaning…read moreand exam process was excellent - but, I didn't form my negative opinion UNTIL seeking a second opinion due to the high prices received in my treatment plan. (3 unit bridge for my missing tooth -$6000, one crown on tooth that needed to have amalgam filling removed -$2250.) When I arrived at the next dentist with my x-rays from Dr. Scott Anderson's office, the dentist concurred with the work needed - with one HUGE difference: He said that, first & FOREMOST I should remove my badly decayed WISDOM TOOTH. I replied, "What wisdom tooth" thinking they had all been removed. He then proceeded to identify it to me in his X-ray AND Dr. Scott Andersons X-ray. Furthermore - he said that he would refer me to an oral surgeon for that work - but that he would recommend that I have that tooth extracted because it was a health issue while the others were mostly cosmetic. (Please note that the wisdom tooth was still fully in the gum, but it had opened the gumline just enough to allow bacteria in which had started the decay process - it was impacted and likely beyond the scope of Dr. Scott Anderson's ability to remove it as well). I asked the new dentist if it was possible that Dr. Anderson could have 'missed' that badly decayed tooth in the x-ray - to which he replied, "No dentist could miss that tooth." This led me to only one logical conclusion: Dr. Scott Anderson chose only to create a Treatment Plan based on quick, easy, profitable work that he could perform. I call that 'selective dentistry'. The sad thing is that the overall experience was positive (prior to me finding out WHAT HE FAILED TO INFORM ME OF - WHICH WAS MY MOST SERIOUS PROBLEM - THE WHOLE REASON X-RAYS ARE TAKEN IN THE FIRST PLACE). So, Dr.Anderson was completely content to perform $8250 worth of 'gravy work', only to leave me with a badly decayed wisdom tooth (which if you could have seen it after I had it extracted, would have surely had me in serious pain within a short matter of time) - only to probably 'inform' me later, when I returned in pain - that, 'Oh - I see - you have a badly decayed wisdom tooth... here, let me REFER you to a specialist - oh...and see my receptionist on the way out to pay for your consultation fee!' His office contacted me to return for another cleaning - at which I explained all of this...predictably no one reached out with as much as an apology. This just reinforces the practice of ALWAYS seeking a second opinion. By the way... that 'broken/missing tooth that had created my need for a bridge' was a molar that was decayed approximately 35-40 YEARS ago... I went to my dentist who said only that it had to be extracted. I declined. I sought a second opinion. The next dentist said IMMEDIATELY (and without knowledge that I was getting a second opinion) that he needed to do a root canal followed by a crown. He NEVER even offered extraction as an option! I got to keep that tooth for 30+ additional years! GET SECOND OPINIONS - and DON'T TELL THEM THAT THEY ARE THE SECOND OPINION.

My family has been consistently overcharged to the tune of $1k by this office. We were required to…read morepay after each visit based on what they said our insurance does not cover. Dr Andersen is in network and our payments should equal EOB patient responsibility. When inquired about one of the charges, the office said they apply difference to other family members on the same insurance. Well this never happened. I have, in good faith, made many attempts to address this with the office since 6/13/24 and finally requested for the office to upline it to the dentist. Not one time someone reached out back to me on this issue. Even though I provided the copy of all EOBs and payments in question along with my reconciliation. Attempt by MetLife representative on 9/10/24 to reach the office also failed. 3 months later, the answer I still receive is that billing did not have time to look into this.

There has been no one whom I trust more with my mouth fallowing a root canal, along with other procedures. Such have impacted my daily life in the best way. Know your dental benefits and verify your treatment estimate yourself…read more I'm writing this because I hope our experience encourages other patients to become informed consumers of their own dental care. Treatment plans are estimates, but before agreeing to thousands of dollars in dental work, review the charges and independently verify anything that doesn't make sense with your insurance company. I'm very glad I did. My husband received a treatment plan at Sterling Ridge Dental involving multiple crowns. Our Delta Dental PPO covers crowns at 60% in-network, yet one crown was estimated at approximately 45%. When I questioned this with the office coordinator/manager, Theresa, I was told perhaps our benefits had decreased and was advised to contact Delta myself. I did. Delta confirmed our crown benefit was still 60%, consistent with estimates we had received from other in-network providers. Unfortunately, my conversations with Theresa became increasingly uncomfortable. I found her demeanor dismissive, passive-aggressive and at times hostile simply because I continued questioning discrepancies in the treatment estimate. At one point, she suggested another provider may have obtained a different result by coding a different tooth and said their office would not "unethically" code the wrong tooth to obtain coverage. That was never what I requested. I simply wanted to understand why their estimate didn't reflect the benefit Delta confirmed. I also questioned separate D0350 photographic image charges for the crowns. Theresa told me these photographs were needed as documentation/proof so the practice could get paid by insurance. I specifically verified this with Delta. The representative told me D0350 photographs are NOT required for crown reimbursement and that standard dental radiographs, including periapical (PA) x-rays, can be used when additional documentation is necessary. PA x-rays are covered under our plan. I understand an office can choose its own documentation practices. My concern was being charged separately for something presented as necessary for insurance reimbursement when Delta told me that specific photographic code was not required. This was especially confusing because during our consultation, the dental assistant took intraoral photographs and specifically told us they were for internal office use and were not something we would be charged for. When I continued questioning these issues, Theresa became more confrontational and told me, word-for-word, "We're not going to let any insurance company dictate how we run our business." She also told me I was "lucky that we accept your dental benefits." I wasn't asking insurance to dictate how they practice dentistry or asking anyone to improperly code anything. I was asking reasonable questions about our coverage and financial responsibility before committing to substantial dental work. Theresa ultimately proposed obtaining a formal predetermination from Delta. She also attempted a three-way call with Delta, but I was disconnected/hung up on and she never called me back. Within approximately the same week or the following week, I received the predetermination we had been waiting for, yet I still received no follow-up from Theresa. Ultimately, this wasn't about one relatively small fee. It was about transparency, professionalism and how legitimate patient questions were handled. We intended to establish long-term care here. My husband had substantial dental work to complete, I had scheduled my own new-patient appointment, and we potentially would have referred others. Instead, we canceled his treatment and future appointments, canceled my appointment and chose to seek care elsewhere. My advice: KNOW YOUR BENEFITS. Request an itemized treatment plan, review the charges and call your insurance company when something doesn't make sense. No patient should feel intimidated, pressured or "lucky" that their insurance is accepted simply because they ask questions. Being an informed patient is not being a difficult patient.
