I also spent a lot of time doing research on the best water heaters to install. Benjamin spent a lot of time answering our questions and going over the latest city of Austin requirements for the installation. We needed some other plumbing work to be done so we just had Benjamin do those things as well. His plumbing company was really easy to work with and Emily was very kind and helpful as well. HVAC person came, opened the door to the inside unit - and said "change the filter" - filter that was just changed a few day ago. Then he looked into our temperature screen that wasn't showing temperature we set it to be and basically said: "it's fine". We were in shock. If that's what it takes to be HVAC master in this company - maybe we should all apply. So far, it's $99 for standard dispatch fee. And $208 for "minor troubleshooting or diagnostic on specific part of the system" as states on the receipt. - so I guess looking at the screen and toward direction of the filter cost us $208! We were absolutely confused how we are paying for diagnostic and person didn't even go outside to look at our outside unit. Asked him to do that - got hit with $612 more dollars. So $919.08 and our issues wasn't even fixed, it was "diagnosed". After that we were provided with option change the part ("the cheapest option" for $3110.92, when apparently this part costs $400 everywhere else. Or change outside unit completely to some old-technology unit for 7869.56 just because it's not "new". In comparison, we could've change a whole AC system for cheaper and better units.

Cody and Clint have taken care of several fairly routine plumbing issues for me and have been prompt, courteous, and reasonable. More recently I've had a water heater problem. They replaced it but there were still issues. Over a couple of weeks they came out several times (no charge) and tired different solutions. When I mentioned I had a high flow rate on my water softener but no one could find a leak, even the plumbers with fancy technology, Clint ruled out other issues and finally discovered that yes, there was a slab leak from the water heater. We had all been stumped for months, but using reason and the process of elimination, plus his plumbing knowledge, Clint nailed it. Although it will be costly to fix this, at least now I know what the problem is and we can work around it till it's fixed. And if this ends up being a job beyond the scope of what Cody Ross Plumbing does, I will use Leroy Ross (Cody's father), who does construction plumbing. In summary, they're the best around on all fronts. I cannot rate them high enough for what they've done.

This caused us to have to have someone else come out, pay hundreds of more dollars - and through the whole process they refused to call us back to talk about the issue or try to repair it in any way. This is honestly a very basic fix that show have originally been done correctly - but then to not be willing to talk on the phone to try to correct it is the biggest problem. The reason I'm holding garden house plumbing company accountable is because they should, prior to the foundation work, check to see if they have what is needed for the hydrostatic plumbing test and quote how much it will cost if there is will a cost. With that making the home owner aware of how much to expect to pay and giving the opportunity to choose to continue with the foundation work or choose another contractor. When there is a condition to the test and that this condition voids the warranty the lack of transparency is a total disregard and disrespect with the consumer. Marco Munoz did a great job explaining but only provided this explanation of the hydrostatic plumbing test per my request after the foundation work was done and I found out I'd get no warranty for it. This should have been provided along with the contract since Douglas Foundation assigns then to do the testing. If they are a reputable company and respect their customers I hope they will stop doing business in partnership with crooked, dishonest Douglas Foundation repair.

He was very professional and thoughtful in his communication, and patient with my barrage of questions. I did receive other communication from some other local, and nationally recognized companies, while speaking with David, but their responses felt generic and not as genuine. I mentioned to David that several of my neighbors had used his services before, and mentioned the company on our Facebook neighborhood page, so I felt very comfortable doing business with them based off of that. We agreed on the time it would be done, and the set cost of the services. The pricing was extremely competitive, especially since I was receiving "after hours" service. David offered me several payment and financing options, as well, which was refreshing.
