I had multiple quotes to have the pressure reducing valve by my smart meter replaced. One was $1,100, another $1,450 and the highest was $1,566. Westmoreland did it for $601! So there is a leak between my unit and a unit below me. I called them out, they looked down the drain and said, not sure what the problem is, and left me with a bill for $144.95. The service call of $60 and 1/2 hr of the plumbers time to tell me he has no idea what the problem is. To tear out the tile and call them back at $180/hr. -- I called Hambone Plumbing. They came out, did a ball test (filled the shower with water), provided me with a written description of the issue and a list of 4 solutions. I implemented the 1st one on their list and it solved the problem. read more

These guys are awesome. We had to get them to perform a smoke test on a commercial building to find openings in the pipes that rats were using to come into the building. They were quick to get to the job and Gilbert and the guys were amazing. Found the holes and fixed the plumbing and we trapped the rats!! First, let me state that I am not a big user of plumbers. I am a homeowner, newly, and I have had to employ several other skilled people to work on our house, but not the plumbing. That said, as far as I could tell, they did a really good job. After an attempted self fix on the ole' pipes, we broke one. Water was spraying everywhere and down into the walls. Not good. After turning off the water (no showers, no flushes, no ice cubes) we started calling around to find someone to fix our problem. Westmoreland plumbing was the first to call us back and they were able to get us in the next day. After heading to the gym to wash up, we eagerly awaited their arrival. JP, our plumber, did show up a little later than the scheduled time, but he called first to say he was going to. He looked at the problem and got right to work. I had no idea what this was going to cost, but he was more than happy to ball park it at several hundred dollars less than what I thought. Again, no experience here, but I was happy with the price. He cut out our wall, replaced the head and pipe with brand new parts that he said were better and stronger. It looks fine from the outside and he was quick about it. So- why 4 stars instead of 5? Well, he left the hole in our wall. 2 holes, actually. Is a plumber supposed to patch those things? Dunno, but I like it when people leave things how they found them. And, I felt like he could have communicated things a little more- but maybe he is just the strong, silent type. Also, noted that when I walked by he had no crack showing- a total plus in my book. read more

As a renter, I can't address the cost because they bill my landlord directly. But they come when they say they will, and they brought a well-stocked truck so they didn't have to run out for supplies. The plumber who came out last week explained what was wrong and fixed it in one trip. I can't give five stars because clean-up was fairly sloppy and I have no idea how much it cost. I got the impression he was trying to leave quickly. To be fair, my job took much longer than expected. I decided to replace the kitchen faucet, but despite a specialty tool and several hours of "creative effort," the bolts on the old faucet wouldn't budge. Time to pour a bourbon and call for help. It made me feel much better that he had to deploy power tools to SAW the damned thing off! He also showed me some gunk that's coming out of the house pipes and advised us to drink filtered water (from an pitcher or snap-on tap filter, not a sales ploy). Scary! Yeah, I bought a filter later that same night. We'd call them again. read more

Just wanted to pass on my experience with Westmoreland. A man answered the phone at 9:20am on Aug. 9, 2013. I introduced myself and asked him if I could ask him some questions to determine the cost of various tests for my home. He signed loudly and said go ahead. I was surprised with his sigh of annoyance so said to him that it seemed as if he was annoyed with having to take the call. He said that it was just because he was really busy and told me curtly to go ahead and ask my questions. I've spoken to four plumbing companies today before him and all were friendly and helpful except for this guy. I told him that it didn't seem like he wanted the business to which he said ok and hung up. Hope it wasn't the owner I spoke to... if it was, he doesn't deserve any business given his attitude. If it was an employee instead, hope the owner comes to realize how rude this guy is... read more

I had a sink clog and needed a same-day appointment. Sean was there within one hour of me calling Westmoreland! He followed COVID protocols and got the job done within thirty minutes. The price was a bit more than I was hoping ($200 to unclog the sink), but worth it to get the job done so quickly. I was impressed with their customer service. They charged me an incorrect amount (in their favor), but once someone reviewed my bill, they called me and refunded me the difference. read more

I've only been a homeowner for 4 years, but I am NO stranger to plumbing calls. My house is a plumbers dream. In my first year of homeownership I saw no less than 4 plumbers at my house to fix a variety of problems: clogged drains, toilets that wouldn't flush, toilets that were loose & needed new gaskets, a washing machine drain that was clogged, sewage back-up in my shower (worst. day. ever.)... the list goes on and on. I'd used Johnny Rooter - in two seperate trips they sent out 1) a high school teacher who'd been plumbing for oh, idk, maybe a month, who tore my house apart for an entire day trying to get my master toilet to work but never got it fixed, and then two months later, 2) a plumber who looked like Santa who cleared a bathroom drain & then checked my master toilet and let me know that it was working (damn, I hadn't used it for 2 months because the teacher said it wasn't working). I'd also used companies through my buyers warrantee - one guy never showed up, one showed up the next day drunk & without the correct part. I'd also used Union Jack. Great guy. Love the accent. EXCELLENT attention to detail. So attentive, in fact, that it took 6 hours to do his work & my bill was close to $1,000 for re-gasketing two toilets. Never again. I was finally referred to Westmoreland through a friend. The first plumber they sent out to check my master toilet (again) quickly got the problem fixed & clearly explained everything that was going on. He also prescribed a specific toilet brand & model that would fix my problems forever. He did great work and was efficient. The bill was much easier to swallow & I felt reassured by knowing exactly what the issues were & how I could avoid them in the future. Since that first time I've since moved to Houston & now rent the house as a vacation rental. I've had to call Westmoreland out several time for various fixes & they've always been great to deal with. Tommy, who answers their calls, is great to talk to & very easy to work with. They may charge a small premium for their labor but I guarantee that it's worth every penny for the piece of mind. read more

Westmoreland Plumbing is simply the best. I have never created a Yelp review - positive or negative - but am so impressed with them that I wanted to share. I spoke with Wes this morning about a kitchen sink that had no water pressure, a slight leak and virtually no hot water. Wes quickly counseled me that I likely just needed to replace my entire (10 yr old) faucet. He said, 'I'm just being honest" & "we could come out there & try to fix it but you'd probably be better off just buying a new one & we could install it in 30 minutes". I took his advice. It took ME an hour and a half & 'Voila'! Wes was right. He saved me lots of time & money & earned a very loyal customer. The positive about this service is that their service was very quick. They had someone out within an hour even when I explained it wasn't anything major. We had a small leak under our sink. The negative is that the plumber that showed up was here less than 30 minutes, replaced a washer that cost $2.00 and the bill was $119.00. They charge $98 per hour, even if they are not here for that long. The "truck charge" was an additional $10 even though they are located less than 5 miles from our location. I read other reviews on citysearch afterwards and reviewers had similar complaints. Partly my fault for not reviewing before hand but I won't use them again. read more

The plumber was pleasant but not only did HE bust the toilet, but he charged us for it! HE cause the extra work and charged us for the time as well. I feel extremely taken advantage of. Very disappointed in this company. I had them come out concerning a water leak in my waterline. It was raining hard so they were unable to try to find it. The plumber only looked at my water valve to see if it was spinning. I can understand the $50 service call but not the additional $65 for labor. These guys are the best I've ever used. I've been using them for 15 yrs. I've tried many before and i can tell you that you won't find a more honest and professional company. Very nice, personal service. I noticed one review that complained about "leaving a hole after repairs" (it isn't a plumber's job to fix holes in walls), and another that complained that they charged them a full hourly rate (if you find one that doesn't, please let us all know). Calling a plumber will never be cheap so for me, it is all about getting the job done right and getting it done quickly. These guys have actually come in and repaired it for less than the estimate a few times. As long as they are open, they have my business. read more

There was a big leak in the pipe between the meter and the shutoff valve. They gave me an estimate over the phone and sent someone over. Mike showed up right on time, went right to work, replaced the pipe, showed us the old pipe, and replaced the old shutoff valve to the house. It all ended up costing the low end of the estimate (woohoo!) Really pleased with the work; hope I don't have to call on them again any time soon! ;) read more

Westmoreland Plumber arrived exhausted and then spent 2 hrs installing a popup assembly in my sink , which he wasn't able to get a seal on tho did charge me for his time. Said though he "didn't have much experience w old sinks", that I needed a new sink. I called another plumber who came right out, applied some thought to the situation and used a little sandpaper to make the drain stick to the assembly a bit better and got the assembly on there just fine and quickly. I wd definitely not recommend westmoreland plumbing. read more

These are the worst service people I have ever dealt with. I hired them to come install a new toilet. the guy installed it and left and didnt even bother to check to see if it flushed before he left, just said all good you are good to go. and charged me for double the time he was here. Guess my bad in paying him and not arguing with him then, but i have a baby and was busy with her and when someone tells you they did something i believed him. anyway i called after i checked it a few minutes later and it didint flush at all so i called them back and they sent him back to fix it, he proceeded to stand over toilet for 30 minutes throwing toilet paper in it and trying to flush it without attempting to fix his install. he then proceeded to go through excuse after excuse... it must be this with the toilet, not our fault, or this or this. excuse after excuse. i talked to manager and told him that i was not happy and i wanted my money back and he said no. i told him i would stop payment on the check because the service i paid for was not done and that now not only does our toilet not work it runs constantly. he said i dont care. i once again said please give me my check back or i will stop payment. he said he would sue me if i stopped payment. i said go right ahead, once again i refuse to pay for something i didnt get. Dont let these guys fool u, they are so friendly when you first speak to them but they send out people that do not know what they are doing. read more

Do not consider for small jobs. They tack on a flat service charge to park in front of your property that can be avoided with other licensed plumbers. Hourly rate is market but really higher with a $50 service fee to drive to your job. Fuel charge? Really? Check gas prices - they are low. Will shop around for any future plumbing needs. read more

I called to obtain an estimate on the labor associated replacing 2 toilets. They were upfront about the estimate, gave me their availability, and do not charge a trip fee. Upon receiving competitive quotes from other companies, I scheduled the work with Westmoreland. They kept me apprised of their timing the day of my appointment and the plumber was courteous, quick, and cleaned up after himself. Unfortunately we had a small drip in one bathroom the next morning - the drip was most likely due to our builder-grade pipe and connection but since it was near the connection to the new toilet, Westmoreland replaced the connection and gave us a very substantial discount (we essentially only paid for the parts). I appreciated their willingness to 'make it right', and to work with us on the pricing. I would not hesitate to use them again, or recommend them to anyone. read more

I was told over the phone by Wes that it would be a $50 service charge, then $110 per hour or fraction thereafter. I was NOT told that a helper would come out with the plumber and be charged an additional $85.00 an hour. Honesty is not a priority of Westmoreland Plumbing. I'm hoping the leak is fixed otherwise, I'd say we got "hosed". read more

Westmoreland Plumbing came out today to repair a clogged bathtub drain. The response time was great as I have tenants moving into the home tomorrow. I found their work to be excellent as Jimmy did not give up and was able to retrieve a small toy and parts of a broken bottle. The cost to perform the service was very reasonable.
