I am very picky when it comes to dresses, especially after gaining and losing so much weight. So yesterday i went in and Jill helped me find the perfect dress that exceeded my expectations!!! DO NOT GO HERE! Just a cautionary tale: I purchased a dress at this store, and received it with a LARGE stain on it. Stain was brought in for alterations never worn, in the same wrapping/packaging from the store, and when I contacted them about the stain, they were incredibly rude! Store offered no resolution and now I'm paying $25 on top of the $200 for the dress to REMOVE THEIR STAIN. They should check the dresses before selling them to people to make sure they are in pristine condition, especially for that price point. read more

"Way to lose an order David's Bridal, Lombard, IL-two times over! The original information of measurements, sizes and styles were never entered into the system after our appointment and with that lousy service, we certainly can't trust them to get an order in for such an important event. So one strike and then another! We will be buying elsewhere and suggest you do as well! We had a bridesmaid's dress appointment late February 2018 (ordered and paid for the brides ensemble from this store earlier in the year). One bridesmaid drove up from Peoria, another FLEW in from North Carolina, both just for this event-bridesmaid dress selection. We got everyone measured, dress styles evaluated and tried on and finally picked out one for each of the four bridesmaids. The bridesmaid from Peoria asked if she could order her dress from the store in Peoria and the salesperson said "Sure, if you want me to lose my commission." Unprofessional to say the least! Does shed some light on how well David's Bridal takes care of their employees... Although even poor training can't excuse her comment. Obviously they don't hire well either. Two of the bridesmaids were successfully losing weight so did not want to order their dresses just then, the other two wanted to order closer to home for ease of alterations (because you know there are going to be alterations!). So we did not order dresses just then and the salesperson said she would put the information in the system but told us we would have to order by June-no problem. We call to order dresses this week and find the order was never entered. No measurements, no sizes, no dress styles. When the bride called the store manager to ask what could be done, he just told her he could only apologize and that they would all have to come back in. Not going to happen. I have another daughter getting married in December 2018--guess they lost another order... read more

Besides taking my measurements, she made suggestions as to how she can enhance the beauty of my dress. Yes, I did get my dress here and yes, it was the first dress I tried on but DB still gets only one star and it would get zero were yelp to allow that. Here's why: 1. I received a phone call two days before my appointment to confirm the appointment for the next day...the WRONG day. Fortunately they were able to honor the time I had originally booked since I had bridesmaids travelling from a fair distance. Their error - strike one. 2. I took the time to go on their website and preselect gowns I wanted to see. They boast this as a great service to help save time at the appointment. I also asked when I scheduled whether I would have a decent selection since I am a plus size bride. I was assured that I would have a wide variety to choose from. At the appointment, the greeter at the aforementioned awkward reception table informs me that the web site info is unavailable. No matter, because not a single gown out of my 10 preselects were in the store. And my "wide variety" of plus sized options? Five. Strike Two. 3. This is a dirty, cramped store where you try on gowns practically on top of other brides. While there are some lower end gowns, not all of them are and I would expect the atmosphere to be less reminiscent of a cattle call. Strike Three. 4. So, after trying on the five gowns and actually falling in love with the first one, I ask for a vague estimate on the alterations. After all, they had the seamstress right there showing us how the bustle would look. I got a reasonable answer, paid for the dress and went home. Fast forward three months. Its alteration time. My first fit was a Tuesday night (be forewarned - they are NOT accommodating about alterations on evenings and weekends). There was one woman on staff in alterations. She was constantly being paged and called away which added twenty minutes to my visit. She was adamant to the point if rudeness about stressing that I had to pay in full for the alteration that night. I went to the front to pay and was hit with a bill that was DOUBLE what had been estimated at the time of purchase. I needed nothing but the hem shortened and a bustle put in. No taking in or letting out. They are THAT incapable of estimating an alteration? Second Out. 5. Its my big day. I had picked up the dress three days before from the dingy, poorly lit alterations department. Now, clearly visible in the light of day is a large grey stain on the back of my dress. My awesome bridesmaids worked on it with shout wipes ant a towel and got most of it out, but I knew it was there. Third Out. Game over. Stay away...stay very far away. read more

I'm having a hard time reviewing bridal shops, because I'm having to weigh in on my emotional sanity during the experiences. Please see my review for David's Bridal (Schaumburg), where I actually bought my dress from. My 3 stars for it probably could've wavered into a 4; but as I said, I'm having a strangely hard time knowing how I want to rate my experiences (not like anyone really cares-- FYI, watch the South Park Yelp episode). I'm going with a 2 star for the Lombard location because I was a bit irritated. I came with my best friend (aka, Maid of Honor) and it was my first time going wedding dress shopping. She had set an appointment, we got our sales associate, and so began the process. I explained to her what I wanted (or more like what I didn't want): I wanted simple, which means no excessive sparkle, fluff, puff, whizz, bang, or pow. I showed her a photo of a dress I had once seen (referred to in my other review) and had really liked-- please base your selections off of that. She started us off browsing on our own, and we gave up pretty quickly because it's too overwhelming. When she started pulling dresses for me, the selections didn't seem to at all fit my photo/description (same thing happened at the Schaumburg store); but still, I tried them on. When asked what I did and didn't like about them, this is where my irritation started to kick in. I always started with what I did like, but when I went in to what I didn't like, the associate seemed annoyed and all "ugh when is this appointment over"! I'll put some of the blame on me with my usual statement: I'm a bad shopper, so I may not always convey thoughts and visions well. Still, I felt rushed, like an imposition, and quickly lost all of my shopping steam as the associate pushed me to make a selection. Another thing that bugs me: when I say what my budget is, that I'm paying cash, and will do absolutely no finance option.... I MEAN IT. I don't do debt, I hope to never even have a mortgage, so don't try to push me in that direction so I'll consider a more expensive dress. That kept being gently suggested during this visit. While the associate I'm sure just found me irritating and is otherwise pleasant, I really didn't enjoy this appointment much. The store was fine, but I didn't return. read more

David's bridal needs a crash course on how to talk to brides. Lock the doors right now and teach your staff. I'll start with my visit in April. Made the appointment, the woman on the phone was nice enough. Came in, tried on dresses. Jackie the woman who helped me was okay... She was certainly a sales person. Which is okay, I get it your job is to make money. However she was splitting her time between me and another party, which was annoying because after I chose my dress and would have liked to been sold the veil, shoes, and bra. However she was Mia. My dress has a very low back, she told me that they did have a bra that would work with my dress but I had to try the bra on and get the whole thing altered at that time? Huh? Okay no bra to be seen, I asked at the counter, they woman said, set the appointment for alterations then we order the bra.... I should have known then that this was the beginning of a run around. Happy enough though,I found a beautiful dress and left. Dress came in quicker than expected! which is why they get two stars. When I went to pick it up I was told I had to order the bra before I could make an appointment for alterations..... The opposite of what I was told weeks before. I was told I needed an appointment for a bra fitting and they couldn't help me look for one without one. They then asked me to try on my dress.... When I declined the woman was very short with me. I explained that it didn't make sense for me to try on a dress, with incorrect under garments if no one was going to be able to help me bra shop. So you can have an employee make sure the dress fits, but can grab a bra for me? Weird, I'll Pass. So I did. Took my dress home and penciled in a bra appointment. This is where things get out of hand. I went in to see a staff member about a bra. She told me that there was nothing that would work with my dress. That I would have to get cups added to my dress but she wouldn't recommend that because of my considerable size..... Yes that's right she said I was of CONSIDERABLE size. I just left. Walked out. So no bra, no other option.... I visited the store last month. Head down, tail between my legs, defeated, one last stop for an ultra low back long line bra. I was greeted after waiting for some time by the manager who was discussing remodeling with two men. She told me a consultant would be right with me. I told the woman what I was looking for she hurried me back to a mirrored area. I told her my size, she assured me that it was wrong. She measured me assuring me that she would make sure that I left with a bra. Then I showed her my dress. She said they didn't have any bras that would work for my dress. I asked her why would davids sell a dress they could provide a bra for, she said that they have a wide variety of options for all the dresses, except for that one. When I asked what women do when they buy this dress they normally go without a bra, but considering my size they wouldn't be able to accommodate me.... Considering my size? You can't accommodate me? David's bridal needs a crash course of customer service.... FYI they dress is a size 14... And I'm a 36 DD. read more

Note: This review is not about their selection, quality, or price. I think all of those are great. David's Bridal has a huge selection of bridesmaids and bridal gowns that are really nice for a very reasonable price. That's pretty much a fact. This review is more about the service and atmosphere of the Lombard location. I came here on a whim on a Saturday and didn't have an appointment. Their web site does not state that those are required, and my sister and I just wanted to try on bridesmaid dresses. When we walked in, the place was a madhouse. You could barely walk in the front door. There was a party of about 20 people (no joke) waiting in chairs around a "stage" where their group was showing their dresses, and they were hooting and hollering. It was really awkward since it was out in the open. What really ticked me off was my sister and I were looking at bridesmaids dresses and this young man walked up to us with a clipboard and asked if we needed help. We asked if we could just try on bridesmaid dresses and he gave us a look as if we were crazy and said, "That is done by appointment only" and promptly walked away. So we went up to the front desk to ask about making an appointment. It was 2:00. I asked Bernadette at the front desk if I could make an appointment. She glared at me and rudely asked, "TODAY?" I smiled and said yes. She glared at me as if I was an idiot and rudely stated, "we only have a 5:00 available". Didn't even smile or anything at all. Ok, get a grip here David's Bridal Staff. You are not a Dolce & Gabanna store in Beverly Hills. Don't give me an attitude like I have no right to be in your store without an appointment. Their web site should clearly state "You will not be seen or given any attention without an appointment." As a side note, one of my friends had a much better experience at the Aurora store. They showed up without an appointment late on a Saturday and were able to try on some dresses and the staff was very nice to them. So I plan to visit that store and hopefully be treated with more courtesy. read more

I've already been to a number of David's Bridal stores in the past so I know it was not going to be the best experience. This particular location tops them all. Most of the time I have been able to stop in and take a look at dresses. The last experience was with my sister at the Schaumburg location to pick her Maid of Honor dress (which we did not buy at DB since they pretty much just ignored us the whole time). This time my friend and I walked in and they weren't particularly busy so we helped ourselves to a few dresses and tried them on in the dressing room without any of the consultants batting an eye. When we went to follow up on a couple of the dresses my friend and I didn't see on the rack their "concierge" made a major fuss about how I was not allowed to try anything on by myself because the consultants were busy sizing others. I knew my size and just needed to try on one final dress so I asked one of the consultants in the rear if I could try on the one dress. There were clearly open rooms but she made a huge deal about how they had reservations and a party just walked in the door. After I told her it would seriously only take a minute and I'd be out of there before their reservation was even ready for the room she reluctantly allowed me into one of the dressing rooms - making some offhand comment that made it seem as though she was doing me such a MAJOR favor. I really hate being so rude to people in the service industry, but they really had me at my wit's end. To top it off, many of the bridesmaid dresses were only in plus sizes. I was barely able to find sizes to try on in the styles that my bride wanted. Stay away from this particular location if you can avoid it. They act as though they are running a couture bridal shop when in reality they are really the Target of bridal. Nice enough stuff for an okay price, but no reason to treat people like they're nothing. The friend who was with me is another bride-to-be and has now officially sworn off David's Bridal as a potential bridesmaid dress location after this experience. read more

I had the best time here! Cynthia was our assistant and she was amazing! I had some dresses I saved from the site and showed here. She wrote them down and suggested a few others, and I was up for it. I did pick out a lot lol, and she was all smiles! She was honest and say which ones looked good and ones I wasn't feeling. Ask for her! She understood what I was looking for and what I didn't want. Our appointment did run late and she didn't mind. I found some bridesmaids dresses for some of my girls to try on and she didn't mind to get them for us. Glad to report I had another great experience at DB and I have officially bought my dress! I went during the week so it was a bit quieter. Three wonderful ladies Anna, Sherri and Brittney, were extremely helpful in aiding me. After trying on many styles I found my heart was set on one in particular that they didn't have in white. It was close to closing and instead of trying to rush me out. those 3 ladies pulled together and made several calls to find my dress in my color and the best part yet... in a my size! They have a tradition at DB when the bride finds her perfect dress they bring out a little silver bell from the back for her to ring as they cheer her on. (I think it's a noteworthy point just because it's a cute tradition and makes a statement about customer care.) The knowledgeable alterations lady said I will most probably not need and alterations at all, which is a wonderful save because mending wedding dresses tends to get pricey $$$! Perhaps I just got lucky because they store was not busy but I am adding an extra star just because I feel more than ever that the staff at this location are helpful, knowledgeable and very attentive as they try to meet your needs. read more

David's is the worst company I have ever encountered. THERE ARE BETTER PLACES TO BUY REASONABLY PRICED DRESSES! GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Beware! The ineptitude of the staff from the floor associates to the corporate managers (oh yes, I had to appeal to them...) runs very deep. They are rude, unhelpful, and unwilling to make things right when they go wrong. DO NOT trust them with the most important day of your life. Had such a great experience at this David's Bridal! We had originally ordered bridesmaids dresses for my sister's wedding at a different salon from designer Allfredo Angelo. Long story short, Allfredo Angelo went out of business leaving us dress-less less than 2 months from my sister's wedding. We were luckily refunded from the other salon, but had a very tight time crunch on finding new dresses! The staff at David's Bridal in Lombard was so wonderful to work with. They made us feel comfortable, helped us have confidence in our choices, and had patience. They were personable, engaging, and didn't pressure us! My sister found a beautiful dress and they waived the rush fee given our situation. They really helped put us at ease about the situation and we found a great dress! read more

I shopped around at a few bridal shops looking for my wedding gown. It was ultimately THE dress that brought me to David's Bridal but the staff is so friendly and helpful! The prices are good and you can usually get a $50 off coupon at a bridal show. I bought my wedding dress there a few months back and recently saw one that I might exchange it for. They were so helpful and understanding of my situation (I'm not sure yet if I am exchanging). Please note that I did not buy a $2000 dress, my dress was $400 and they are still going out of their way to make sure I am happy. I have worked with 3-4 different people there and each one has been great. Be sure to make an appointment as they are usually pretty busy. read more

I worked with Yolanda, who was great at finding dresses for me, and she wasn't pushy at all. I was a little worried about my visit here from all the reviews but I just have to say that if you had a bad experience here, odds are you went in with some kind of attitude. I went in with no prior dress shopping experience and no expectations and I had a phenomenal visit. Shannon was the one who helped me and he really listened to what I thought I wanted. We tried on a few and then he brought over a few different from what I was originally thinking I wanted (tulle ballgown). He had picked a flutter chiffon strapless with simple beading on top. So not something I wouldve picked judging by the hanger but I was open to anything so I tried it out. If you can, get Shannon as your stylist. That dress he picked was the dress I bought. I tried it on 4 times (bless his damn soul for being so patient with me) before deciding on it. He made the entire experience very enjoyable and i never felt weird being a plus size bride trying to find a dress that didn't look like crap. I can't recommend this place enough! The customer service at this store shocked me! I bought my wedding dress here over ten years ago! So I called them because I am in an upcoming wedding and my dress was just a tad too tight so I called to see what my options were and the girl was so rude on the phone. Didn't know how to help me! There was someone talking in the back ground asking her to ask me questions. Telling me I needed the receipt! I bought the dress a over a year ago and the tags are still on it. She answers you need to just come in here. So rude. Not sure I will ever go back to the shop again! read more

I purchased a bridesmaids dress from this location. I found their alterations staff to be far below acceptable. With that being said, the purchase of the dress went smoothly and it arrived quickly. Their alterations staff is clueless. All I needed them to do was shorten the halter on the gown. They wanted to make all kinds of other changes to the dress that were unnecessary and charge me over $150 to do them. Shortening the halter is a $20 alteration at a cleaner/tailor, so that's where I've decided to take it. David's wanted to charge me $50 for a 10 minute fix that, frankly, I could probably do myself with a pair of scissors, a needle, and some black thread. Don't waste your time with alterations here. There are many more qualified and cheaper seamstresses available. read more

An out of town friend selected a BM dress through David's, so I went to the Lombard location to get sized and order mine. I had recently been married at a courthouse and am planning a reception this August. My mother came along, and though I did not desire it, told the salesgirl it might be fun for me to try on some wedding gowns. I explained that I did not want to, as I already selected a casual silk maxi dress for my reception. Three random dresses were pulled (not entirely the sales girl's fault, as my mother was very excited), all three of which I obediently tried on. They were horrifying. One particularly matronly number was lauded by a more senior sales woman, who then refused to leave my forced fitting, encouraging me that every dress I put on was fabulous. When my mother later showed pictures to my husband, he exclaimed that I looked like a prom hooker in one, and a grandma in another. It was that bad. To make matters worse, I was pressured into scheduling a follow-up. I cancelled prior to the appointment and expressed that if I changed my mind in the future, I'd call back. This is when the real horror story begins. I began to receive no less than 3 phone calls a week from David's bridal from the initial sales girl leaving voicemail's for me to come back, as well as no less than five phone calls from local companies telling me I'd "won" a bridal flower package, photography package, or DJ service for my "big day". I also began to receive an influx of emails from all sorts of local companies, targeted with my personal info, stating that I was receiving a "special discount". DAVID'S BRIDAL SOLD MY PERSONAL INFORMATION! I even received a call from the Men's Warehouse, where the gentleman on the phone was pressuring me to bring in my fiance (sorry, we were already married), for a fitting. When I assured him that we were not having a formal ceremony, but an entirely informal backyard reception, he wanted to know what I planned to have my husband wear, promising that he could figure something out for us if we came in. "No, thank you." The final insult, I suppose, was regarding the BM dress that had originally brought me there. I was on an extended out of town trip when my dress arrived. They began calling to tell me it was there, and I told them the date I expected to be back in town and that I could not pick it up prior to that point. A few days later, I received a call from the bride, frantic that she had been contacted by David's and informed that if I didn't pick up my dress, they'd cancel it?!? (It was already paid for in full, by the way). I called them immediately and they assured me that this wasn't their procedure, but there was no note on the account regarding my intended pick up date. They said that holding my dress was inconvenient for them, because the longer they had it, the further it would wander back in their stock room, causing them more trouble when the time came to locate it. Well, at least that part must be true, because when I finally came to pick it up, it took 20 minutes for a salesgirl to get what appeared to be a dress runner to locate my dress. He said okay, and disappeared. After ten more minutes, the salesgirl flagged him down again and asked where my dress was. "Oh," he replied, and then asked for my info so he could begin to look for it. He returned with it about five minutes later. Fail. read more

David's Bridal is the McDonald's of Bridal dress stores. It is an assembly line with cheap gowns. I made my appointment for a Saturday evening at 5pm. I was there on time, walked in and felt completely overwhelmed. There were brides with large bridal parties there, along with a ton of confused, frazzled sales associates. There was just white table in the middle of the store with a computer screen, a table full of papers and a girl. I walked up and told her I had an appointment at 5pm, she told me to take a seat and fill out this paper (typical in many bridal stores). I was being surrounded by pushing brides and loud voices which made the experience very uncomfortable. Once filling out my paper my sales associate came to great me. I introduced my self, my mother and my 13 year old sister. Lizette, my sales associate walked me through the bridal party gowns, even though I didn't even have my one and only maid of honor with me, and told her I wasn't even interested in a maid of honor gown. She continued with saying I was going to be dressed head to toe in a veil, head peace, shoes...ect. In my mind I am thinking, I am not here to buy these over priced accessories. I tried to move Lizette along because she was very slow. We walked toward the fitting rooms and oh my, my eyes went wide with disbelief on how dirty and crowded, packed like sardines this place was. There were items lying on the floor, people sitting in the hallways, where I was suppose to be walking, it was a mad house, not to mention the store was in shambles and a mess. Very unprofessional looking. Lizette showed me my room, it was tiny I am only 5'3'' and I couldn't even spread my arms out. That is how small the room was, plus it didn't have a mirror so I had no choice but to squeeze into these huge dresses and walk out wondering if they looked good bad or plain ugly. Finally, the dress shopping began. It was awful. She wanted to know the EXACT dress I wanted. I wasn't really allowed to look for myself and I only had about 15 dresses to look at. Once pulling a few, she only let me take one to the fitting room and put me in the room and shut the door. They do not help you put the dress on and they do not pull it and snap it in the back. Thank God my mother was there to assist me. The dresses were huge that Lizette pulled, they kept sliding down past my chest and Lizette didn't have any clips to pin the dress (like every other bridal store). I could continue with my awful experience, but the dresses are cheap. I am not just money wise but cheaply made. I tried on several in which I could tell the two different fabrics from the front of the dress to the back. The stitching on the side was awful, all bunchy and looks like just some grabbed a sewing machine and tried to sew it up. My sales associate Lizette was anything but enthused. She had a blank stare the entire time, kept asking me how I would "rate" the dress, and what I didn't like. After the 3rd dress, I didn't know exactly "what" made the dress not a winner for me but plain and simple I didn't like it. Lizette kept asking me why.. I didn't like that. I know people shop David's Bridal because of there affordable dresses but honestly ladies there are a lot of bridal stores that actually have correctly made dresses at affordable prices. Don't support this chain, try to shop local and at smaller independent store and try paying with cash because that can give you a discount. Hope this helps. Thanks read more

I had a horrible experience here, the consultant was absolutely no help, other consultants were dragging chairs across the floor right in front of us while I was trying dresses on, and I left this place in tears. To sum up my whole experience here and to pretty much seal how professional this place is, I received an email from them stating "they were sorry they missed me", missed me? I went to David's Bridal to look for Mother of the Bride dress. This is where my daughter bought her dress. They didn't have a big selection and the ones that I did like either I had to go to the store which was 40 miles away or if I wanted them to order them on line I would have to ship them back and pay for it. Very Customer Service unfriendly. If that is the case they should have a bigger selection in their stores and sizes. They did not have a dress under size 12 in their store except on the model. Would never recommend this store to anyone! Very disappointed. read more

I honestly wish that i could give a lower score than one star. I'm so incredibly disappointed about my experience, especially because I was planning to order all of my bridesmaids dresses here during my appointment. I was greeted by a very friendly young man who then introduced me to my consultant Laquisha. One of the first conversations we had was about how hesitant I was to use their services and products, due to a negative experience my sister had with her bridesmaids dresses. As i was speaking to her, someone, who I'm assuming was a manager, very rudely interrupted, and they began to speak for about 5 minutes. When I finally had her attention and I asked for suggestions for my sister who lives in Honduras, and how we could hep her get the right size, she said "well sorry I don't know what to tell you. We don't ship out there." Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm that's probably the worst thing to tell someone, as the first piece of advice, who just told you how hesitant they were with your services. She couldn't think of any solutions for me? She couldn't even say something positive? The dress I wanted I had a picture of and asked her if we could try it on. She said "Oh we don't have that." As I looked around, she then disappeared again, so I began to pick all my bridesmaids dresses that i was going to try on. I thought the point of an appointment and consultant was so that you could be assisted in this process?? She reappeared with no apology or anything for just rudely leaving. I then saw the original dress I had wanted and she said that wasn't it. I knew it was and she finally admitted it was, realizing I knew her product better than she did. As my MOH and I started to try on dresses, Laquisha was nowhere to be found. We were struggling A LOT to figure out how straps worked, zippers, open backs, all that stuff and she wasn't even there to assist. It was so disappointing. This was supposed to be a fun day with my Maid of Honor, and it was just really stressful. At one point I finally asked her if she would ever be bringing us some more options. She said "well I don't know what you want." I explained that I explained right when we met of what I was looking at, and then showed her the specific dresses that we already tried on saying, "Well this one looked good, can you bring more of something like this?" She never brought us any more dresses. She never even offered to get us more sizes, anything. Keep in mind, We were probably one of three groups there trying. I"m appalled and incredibly disappointed. I really wanted the original dress, but i just couldn't bring myself to give money to the store, let alone a commission for her, when she couldn't even be bothered to get me a new size. I really hope someone would reach out to me about this. I'm incredibly upset, and will continue to discourage friends and family from using David's Bridal ever again. read more

Disclaimer: I am writing this review in the mist of finalizing the finishing touches to our wedding....that is only 6 weeks away with the fear of not having a wedding dress to walk down the aisle in. I placed the order for my dress from Todd, a sales manager at David's Bridal on October 30, 2017 (by phone) with the understanding and confidence the dress would be in my hands with plenty of time for any alterations that may be necessary. I was super excited to receive a call saying my dress was in and was ready to be picked-up/tried on for my first appointment for alterations. When I arrived to pick up my dress on November 25th is when my story starts to take an unfortunate turn. Unfortunately, the dress waiting for me was not the dress I had ordered, it was the incorrect size with no meaningful option for alterations. Todd assured me there was still plenty of time to reorder the dress and have appropriate alterations taken care of. I trusted Todd this would be taken care of and I would return to David's Bridal with my faith restored. Unfortunately my story continues. I received another phone call that my dress was ready for pick-up and when I arrived on April 7th, 2018 to try on my dress to my much dismay and horror, the dress was incorrect AGAIN! The manager on Sunday, David, said there was not much he could do other than to offer the floor sample to be cleaned and altered, however a discount would not be honored. To all of you who have tried on dresses know the difference between a sample and a new, fresh, made for you type of dress....so no, this was not acceptable. After a lengthy discussion with David he said he could get a dress delivered by April 21, 2018....which would be 35 days before my wedding. David ensured me I could make an alterations appointment for April 21st. I walked away from the appointment hopeful, yet not confident. My confidence crumbled when I spoke with Todd on April 12th when he indicated the dress was over-seas and was scheduled to be delivered April 21-May 6th...which, in my mind is clearly unacceptable. If I had not called on April 12th I would have assumed the dress would be present for my alterations appointment....obviously necessary! When I spoke with Todd he diverted the attention back to David and took no ownership of ordering the incorrect dress TWO times. So here I am less than 6 weeks away from my wedding day...the day that David's Bridal profits from on a minutely basis....could someone please help me understand why this is the one thing that could ruin what is supposed to be the happiest day of my life!? After four failed alterations to my wedding gown, I finally conceded to looking for a new dress 26 days before my wedding. I made an appointment and crossed my fingers that David's Bridal could help me. Our consultant Jarri was so positive and determined to find me a dress that day. I tried on a number of dresses and found one that fit well and was available off the rack. There was one dress left to try on but it was very floofy so I didn't want to bother. Jarri convinced me to try it on anyway and much to my surprise, it fit perfectly and made me look great. The look on my mother and bridesmaid's faces said it all, I found my dress. The new dress was way above my budget, especially having bought the previous gown. Jarri said she would check for any sales and unbelievably, the dress only ended up costing $250!!! They said they would be able to finish the bustle alterations and I could pick it up in 2 weeks. What a great experience with Jarri, the Lombard David's Bridal, and all of the rest of the staff that were so helpful! read more

I came in 5 days before my ceremony to just get a simple dress. I honestly didn't think anything would work out but tried anyway. The workers were so friendly and understanding that I was having a small ceremony and that my budget was lower than most. I was able to find the most perfect dress and only spent $200! I was beyond thrilled- they even cleaned an old make up smear someone left behind on the dress! Will definitely be back for next years large reception I'm having. read more

I had a terrible experience with the location in Aurora. So much so that I drove to Wisconsin to go to a David's Bridal there to purchase my dress. So much so that I refused to go to a David's Bridal to find bridesmaid dresses. However, when it came time to find a junior bridesmaid dress, the ones I really loved were at David's Bridal. So, hesitantly, I made an appointment at the Lombard location for my junior bridesmaid. I cannot say how different this location is from the one in Aurora. Every sales person was pleasant and helpful. The young man that helped us knew exactly how to make my 10-year-old jr bridesmaid feel like she was the most important person there. Additionally, I returned with my mother to find her dress and had the same salesperson help us. He did a great job with showing us many options and helping us decide on a final dress. I never felt pressured to buy something. Because of this, I will be driving the extra miles to get my alterations done here. Is David's Bridal the "Say Yes to the Dress" of the Midwest? No. And if that is the experience you are looking for, there are many, many bridal stores that offer that experience in the Chicago-land area. David's Bridal Lombard is good at what they do...offer brides beautiful dresses for them and their wedding party at reasonable prices. read more

I had an overall positive experience at David's Bridal. I've been in quite a few weddings at this point, so I'm getting rather used to the drill. When it came to actually picking out our bridesmaid's dresses, David's was straight forward and very no hassle. Our Bride was very low-key and let us pick out whatever dresses we wanted in her color. I very much appreciated the wide variety of styles that they had - each of us was able to quickly and without any drama pick out dresses that fit our personalities (we actually received a compliment on that fact at the wedding!) The woman who was assigned to us was not overly attentive, but I actually appreciated that. If it's something as simple as a bridesmaid's dress, I don't need someone constantly hovering. I like to browse and then have someone I can ask questions as needed. I was further impressed when I went to pick my dress up. While waiting to pay for it, I noticed that there was a lose thread in the bodice. It was obvious that this was still attached to the dress. With visions of well-meaning friends pulling on the string and my dress unraveling, I mentioned it to the saleswoman. She was immediately responsive and told me that she would order a new one and that it would be ready in a few weeks. There was no discussion, no arguing. I wasn't satisfied with the dress, and she was going to fix it. What won me over, however, was the amazing alterations department. I don't actually live in Lombard, so the fact that they were open late was truly a godsend for me. I was able to come in after 5:00 on a Friday night when I was in town. The seamstress, I'm afraid I've forgotten her name, was incredibly personable and professional. It was probably the most enjoyable fitting I've ever had. Not only did she adjust my hem, but she made the brilliant suggestion that, since it was a winter wedding, we might want to go a little higher than usual because of snow. I never would have thought of that, but with the winter we've been having, I definitely appreciated it on the day of the wedding when my dress wasn't trailing through the snow! Her work was beautiful, and my dress fit perfectly. Overall, I was very impressed with the level of service that I received. I have been treated significantly worse at smaller boutique stores, and it was refreshing to be so well treated at some place like David's. The only reason this isn't a higher rating is because the physical store feels tired. I think with a fresh coat of paint and a new carpet, the place would definitely come across better. read more

I would not recommend this location. The woman at the front counter was not friendly by any means, and yelled through the store to find a consultant. I made an appointment and they had none of the dresses I wanted to see. After being pressured to at least try something on I was left in the dressing room to get dresses on by myself. Both staff were personable and professional and made the experience delightful. The staff went above and beyond. Lakiesha was very knowledgeable about the different styles and explained to the 4 of us what styles might look best and Judy in the last hour found the dress for the big day! I bought a $1150 dress and it came in with make up stains on it at that time they said they would order me a new dress and it would get there May 4th mind you my wedding is May 14th. If only negative stars were a rating option.... So here is my horror story with the alterations staff... I went in for my final dress fitting yesterday afternoon. I took in the 400 layer skirt, longline bra and my wedding flops. The staff helped me into my dress (I just couldn't wait for my friend to get there - I figured I'd surprise her and be ready) and she said,"your dress doesn't fit." Okay, so panic stricken, I fight back having a mini-meltdown and hop on the stand in the three way mirror. The "master seamstress" comes out and determines that they are going to have the let the dress out 3 inches on each side. Now anybody knows 6 inches in a waist translates into about what? 40 pounds? I think I would notice. But, like an idiot, I listened to them and started to cry. About that time, my friend arrived and we went back into the dressing room. She calmed me down and I tried the dress again, guess what? It fit. Yes, I'm serious. She zipped it right up. Were they saying that in efforts to sell me more alterations? I totally think so. Evil, evil to do that to a bride at the final dress fitting, less than a month before the wedding...DO NOT GET YOUR ALTERATIONS HERE. Just don't. read more

I went in for a bridesmaid dress and was met by Shontel- she was wonderful! She was supportive, funny, and genuine throughout my appointment. I had a fantastic time with her as my stylist! I tried on the dresses the bride selected and 2 others that Shontel found for me; she had such a keen eye! I ended up going with her choice in the end and I am so excited to wear it! I was totally not expecting much when I came in to try on dresses. I was actually thinking that I would just use this place to try on different styles, find one I liked and then hit the boutiques for the "real thing". Well, I ended up getting my dress here from the Oleg Cassini line, in a strapless style that I never would have tried on if I was picking things I thought would look good on me (small chest = nightmares about holding dresses and tops up all through high school). The dress had a really long train and was embroidered with "pink gold" detail - it was a lot prettier than I can describe here, I swear. I ended up not needing any alterations on the style either (plus) and only had to have them put in the loops to be able to "bustle" the train. $750 on sale for a dress that everyone thought was thousands. And the poor salesgirl who dealt with me was wonderful (I'm one of those, "whatever, I don't care" people who doesn't get along with the mother who was paying - a nightmare, I know.) I also ended up with the right corset thing and slip from them and the veil matched the dress too. I wound up sending my flower girl here for a dress too. read more
