This was the first place I went to look at wedding dresses for the first time and that was a HUGE mistake. Right off the bat the woman I had " helping me" told me she got double booked so she can only help so much. I wanted to walk out but I gave it the benefit of the doubt and stayed. I am a small person I am fully aware of this however the woman helping me would not let me forget it and was shaming me for it by repeating " you're going to swim in all these" or "you're so tiny". Just because someone is small does not mean saying those comments are not concerned body shaming. All the dresses were off white and had stains on them. I found three I thought were okay but again the lady said she can't help me and just opened the dressing room and left. I got upset because she was being rude and rushing me. It was not an experience any person would want trying on dresses for the first time. I decided this place was not worth my time and left. No one there cared anyways. If you want an amazing wedding dress experience this is NOT the place to do it. read more

Due to COVID I had to postpone our wedding four times. I did not ask the bridesmaids to pay for their dresses, I paid for them. with the last postponement ,I have tried to return the four bridesmaid dresses. Davids Bridal will not take a return after 7 days even with the current covid situation. I was told the only way to return after 7 days is to purchase a equal or greater value, then they would create a return approval, and thus refund the total for both. I have over $600 in dresses. I do not have another $600 to spend on things I don't want so they can generate a return. once this is resolved, I can't think that I would go back to David's Bridal, nor recommend them to anyone. These are unprecedented times and many of us are still recovering from the pandemic. I was stunned at this type of return policy. This is not the customer service I would have expected from David's. read more

My daughter and I went prom dress shopping and stopped in. She found a dress, we ordered and store advised dress wouldn't be in until May 30th. 4-5 days later dress was in. We were so excited. Thank you Breanna for taking great care of us and helping us out on the day of shopping. We picked up the dress on 3/14/2021 and Amy was extremely helpful helped with questions that I had and we decided to have the alterations lady, Amalia was amazing. She squeezed us in before her next appointment which was in 20 min. and she sewed the "bra" in for us in 10 min. Usually this is a 2 step appointment process. I am so disappointed with this store and the manager, Anna. My wife and daughter were treated so poorly by her. After she was rude about their 7 day return policy and we had over 300$ to spend when we didn't need anything because all dresses had been purchased from there, she continued to ignore them not offering to assist in other ways to spend the money. A good manager who sets the tone for the store would have said....let me help you see if there is anything else you my need. On their way out she stared at them and a lady standing next to her said in a sing song voice...have a great day! What a poor example of customer service. Beware of this location and their 7 day return policy. We will be telling everyone we know, who has a lot of kids getting married, not to go to David's Bridal and we will be going to corporate on Anna because it was that bad. read more

This was my first stop for ever trying on a wedding dress. The consultant was nice enough, not overly friendly but not inattentive either. I tried on some dresses and had one that I liked quite a bit but I couldn't say yes to it as I wasn't in love with it. It was hard not to touch the dresses when searching for them because of COVID (can't blame the store for that. Overall, my experience was ok, I just didn't fall in love with any of the dresses. Went in last night for my daughters bridesmaids dress appointment. Mind you , we had a scheduled appointment that noted 10 ladies would be in attendance. The stylist started by saying "There is only 1 of me and a lot of you". Not the best way to start the appointment considering the scheduled appointment was for 10 ladies. After asking my daughter for the color /colors she was going with, she mentions that the color "Sand" only came in a few dress styles. She then tells us all to go ahead and start browsing and 2 pick up dresses we like and bring them to the fitting area. I then question why we would browse all the dresses if that particular color only came in a few styles. She seemed confused. I explained again and recommend she bring out the style dresses that "sand" came in for the ladies to try on. She grabbed 3 styles in the sizes available . The sizes were 2, 8, 10, 14 & 18. How in the world does a chain store have limited sizes for trying on and how would that accurately represent what the dress will look like . She had a size 2 try on a size 18 for reference . She then attempted to measure each lady and her approach to that was concerning . The measuring tape was lopsided and off for each girl . Needless to say, this was a waste of our time . Maybe the manager should properly train the staff, teach them how to speak about the fabric and Styles and get an actual inventory of dresses to try on the read more

There was a large selection of dresses in a variety of sizes and styles. The prices were about average for what we have seen. Finding my perfect dress was great! Taylor made the whole dress buying experience fun and took time to listen to what I like and didn't like. Then when I went back with my bridesmaids several months later, we had a different consultant and she was horrible. I can't remember her name because she was never around and we ended up leaving. But we went back because of a dress that caught our eye. I saw Taylor and she remembered me and totally helped us out, even though she was working with a bride. She's awesome and I definitely recommend her to be anyone's consultant! Then there's Maria, in alterations. What a sweetie! My dress has lots of layers and it took a long time to pin everything but we had great conversations and lots of laughter during the process. If I had gotten all my bridesmaids in at the same time I probably would have rated a 5star review. All my girls couldn't go at the same time so 2 of my six beautiful ladies had to meet me at Davids Bridal on a separate occasion. As my second visit to this store I had an expectation of getting the same wonderful experience from the first time, that is not what we ended up getting. Upon walking in they asked what we were there for. Explaining that I am a Diamond bride and my girls were loaded under my profile we were there to get sized and try on the style dress from the first visit. The consultant looked up the information measured my bridesmaid and allowed her to try it on. My friend decided to go one size smaller as she is dieting. The consultants response was that size won't fit you with a snotty attitude making my bridesmaid feel uncomfortable. I thought maybe the consultant had a bad day and we left somewhat miffed not even being thanked for our business. That brings me to today, meeting up with my final girl to try on her dress. Upon waking in there was no greeting other than do you have an appointment...I looked around the store had no customers and I was approached by someone who brought us to the register right away. We walked over there and she asked me the style number to the dress. I explained I am not sure as they have looked it up under my number in the past. My bridesmaid looked at me and said can I try it on first. The consultant was so inconvenienced by her request instead of measuring her she just asked her pant size. She was offered to try on another style since that one was not in stock. We were taken to try it on where the consultant hovered over us with a very stand offish attitude. Once my friend came out with the dress on she said "great it fits I will meet you at the register". I have never felt so rushed in a store that literally had no other patrons. Upon paying and leaving I said thank you and nobody thanked me or my lovely bridesmaid for our business. In today's world where so many Business are failing to get back on their feet it's unacceptable to treat your customers like this. If ever in the future there is a need for a formal gown this will not be the place I chose to give my business to not will I ever recommend someone to do business here. read more

Everyone was very judgmental. I was judged on being pregnant, and told not to eldest a certain dress that I loved because it would show my little baby bump. The woman that "helped" me with trying on, kept steering me away from the dresses I really loved and said it's because I'm bigger and wouldn't look well on me and saying a few other things and when my bridesmaids said what she was saying was rude she blamed it on her having a bad day.... I ended up choosing a dress because I felt obligated too, and she said it was the right size only to come to find it was 2 sizes to big, fell down while I walked down the isle, and just wasn't what I wanted. I wish I didn't have this type of experience but unfortunately I did. I will be letting everyone know about my experience and hoping in the future DB will be more helpful to their customers instead of telling them that it's my fault for being too big to find anything cute, and for being pregnant and I need to hide my bump. As a plus size bride (26W), I desperately wanted the amazing wedding dress shopping experience with my Bridal Party but I was in my head about all of the "what ifs" and stressed about encountering issues finding a dress that would just make me sad or embarrassed. To ease my anxiety, I booked an appointment with David's Bridal to try on dresses with just my mom so I could get a better feeling for the sizing and styles I would like. Enter Audrey, the most amazing stylist. She was INCREDIBLE from the start. She thoroughly read everything I submitted with my initial survey and knew my stressors and was so comforting and accommodating from the beginning. Turns out, David's Bridal has TONS of options for brides my size (even up to size 30W) and I ended up saying YES TO THE DRESS on the 4th dress I tried on! I couldn't believe it! In hindsight, had I known what an amazing experience it was going to be, I do wish I would have just booked the appointment with my Bridal Party from the beginning. Oh well, you live and you learn. Anyone who is considering utilizing this bridal store, especially if you're the bride, please let me tell you... you deserve better. Read my review for Unbridaled to see what it's really about. This place honestly just makes me sad. Environment: -floors were dirty, please vacuum or the dust bunnies will start chewing holes in the dresses -generalized ambience: a cross between a hotel elevator and a tacky strip mall Staff: -I was told that I would be helped by Employee A. She walked right by me, said she'd be back and never returned. Employee B stepped up to the plate and was helpful. Bridesmaid Dresses: -great variety, but I feel like I'm trying on dresses at Ross or some other discount clothing store. The dresses have armpit stains, smell weird and are generally scary to put on. -fitting rooms do not have mirrors. Why? -the only reason I'm using this for my bridesmaid dress is that they have a wide variety of styles in the color my bride chose and you can order online. I will not be purchasing from this store. Bridal Try-Ons: -from what I observed this was the most pathetic aspect of the whole shebang. Brides were put into dresses that looked absolutely hideous on them. Big sashes and bows in bright gaudy colors (think blood red and kelly green) were tied on unsuspecting brides. -every bride there looked humiliated, embarassed. They were pressured into trying on dresses that really didn't compliment their body types at all. -lighting and ambience is terrible, this should be an awe-inspiring decision! -family and friends were awkwardly seated on this platform, no privacy for brides Please, for the love of the beauty of your wedding, buy your bridal gown at a boutique and spend a couple extra dollars. You want this day to be something that you remember forever in a good way, not with disgust. read more

My little sister is getting married! Wow! Yay! I always knew she'd get married before me (: This particular David's store isn't the nicest I have seen. I suspect this is an older store. Some things deserately need updating. The mirrors are on the outside of the dressing room which is all well and fine but as a bridesmaid I want to know how hideous I look in this gown before I decide to go and show off for the bride to be. My sister-in-law and fellow bridesmaid couldn't have agreed more. The staff was friendly enough. Flor, who was helping us, let me know that this wasn't her regular store but she still knew what was up. Carmen, also super friendly, came up and helped us while Flor was helping my sister in and out of dresses. There was some other lady with a bad attitude that was upset that we pulled several dresses off the rack. No one had told us not to do it, so we did. She didn't need to bark at us. Oh well. This is my second time at David's Bridal. And the second time I have been more than pleased with the experience. COVID has made things "interesting" in this world but shopping for a wedding dress was not one. Yes masks were required and only two people are allowed to accompany but that's ok! Anyhoo, I have to give a shoutout my consultant Sara!!!! She was so sweet and so helpful and I loved her to bits. She helped me find exactly what I wanted.....a wedding pantsuit! Yes, I said pantsuit and it's amazing. She helped find the perfect shoes and accessories and I was even able to have my alterations done at the same visit. I would also like to shoutout my alterations seamstress but I forgot her name which is unfortunate because she was equally as amazing. So nice and made me feel beautiful. I don't understand why David's Bridal gets snubbed when it comes to choosing a wedding gown designer. Yes, it is a chain. However.. They carry quality gowns and their prices are reasonable. The only problem I encountered was having to wait on assistance due to the store being incredibly understaffed. The consultant helping me was also assisting three other brides at the same time. Most bridezillas would have not tolerated this, but I remained patient until my turn came. Overall I am pleased with my experience. Called on April 2nd to see if I needed to set an appointment to get measurements taken, they said no just come in. WhenI got there I made sure that they knew I wasn't ordering a dress from them, they asked to see where and if I had a size chart to compare to their sizes seeing where I was ordering from had international sizing. Measurements took no longer than 2 minutes. I ordered my dress shortly after I got home. Wednesday April 21st I received my dress and everything was great until I wasn't able to zip it up my back past the middle part of my back. So I remeasured my bust and they had me at 32 1/2"-33" on April 2nd, well that was incorrect I measured myself at 35 1/2". Yesterday I went into the store to give a heads up because at this point I have to find a way to get my dressed fix with having extra fabric sent plus finding a seamstress. They were sorry for the mishap as mistakes do happen we are human after all. My main concern was I didn't trust myself enough to get my measurements right so I went somewhere where thats their job is to take measurements with every customer (paying or not) and wanted them to know so it doesn't happen to someone else. Both times I was there my measurements were 2-3inches off. Yes I am fully aware I didn't order from them so there isn't anything they can do for me. I just had my full trust in them seeing there is 300 stores in the United States. read more

Not on your life would I recommend this store. I will preface my story by saying that this occurred 4 years ago, but I was so dissatisfied with my experience that even now, I would not recommend this store. I did get beautiful bridesmaids' dresses there - it was a style that really flattered all body types. My problem was this: I wanted a color swatch so I could buy fabric for table runners. The lady refused to give me a sample - "we don't have color swatches," and that I could buy some gloves or ribbon in the color. When I told her that the store in Tucson gave my friend a swatch, she relented. She went back for what seemed like a really long time. When she came out, she gave me a color swatch from the shoe dye placed on a piece of shoe fabric made SPECIFICALLY FOR COLOR SWATCHES. She made a really big deal about telling me that it takes 24 hours to dry and not to buy any fabric until after 24 hours passed. Oh, and by the way, this was a manager who did this. I took it home, and the next day, I gave the swatch to my mother-in-law. She took one look at it and said that it was the wrong color (she really knows her sewing and has an excellent eye for color). She took it back to the store to compare it with the dresses and verified that it was another color that the woman had actually given me. I believe that this was done on purpose because of the scene I made in the store to get the swatch. I think she made the big deal about waiting so that I wouldn't compare the color while I was in the store. This place tries to pass itself off as a high-end bridal boutique, when it is just mass-made dresses and they will do anything to try to get you to buy something that you don't want. You have to make an appointment just to try on dresses off the rack, but there is no personalized service. I would definitely look into locally owned and operated stores. You will get much better service, AND they will actually give you color swatches without having to go mano-a-mano. read more

So as a plus sized bride, I was really nervous about going dress shopping with my bridesmaids. That being said, here is why I am so happy with my choice to go to the David's Bridal in Peoria. And why I cannot say enough nice things about Gabriel (seriously, we had so much fun with him!) and Ingrid. A month ago, I had a horrible dream that nothing was going to fit me at my appointment. On an afternoon off I stopped by to do some recon of the place to calm my nerves. The woman at the entrance walked me through the process, showed me the basics of the store, and calmed my nerves. I came back on May 5th for my appointment with three of my attendants and my sister. We were assigned the most wonderful, witty, professional young man, named Gabriel. He came back with a few dresses, and helped me figure out the crazy logistics of each gown. He was courteous and kind. He made me feel so at ease, and he had an amazing eye for dresses. He got me into two dresses that I never would have considered, and even though I went with the first dress that I had saved on the website, I seriously was in a twist about which one to choose. When we were finished, I was in the happiest of tears. As we were making my appointment for my alterations, I got to speak again with the woman who calmed my nerves a month ago. INSIST on Gabriel M. as your consultant!!!!! I could not be more pleased with my experience at this David's Bridal, mainly because of Gabriel M. (and his lovely manager, whose name I unfortunately didn't get). I walked in thinking I knew what I wanted for my dress. But after listening to key words and getting a feel for me generally, Gabriel suggested I try something TOTALLY different that I never would have picked and had elements I specifically said I didn't want. It was perfection! He obviously knows his brides and his inventory and has a true talent for finding "the one"! After being horribly disappointed by other bridal salons in terms of both dresses and service, this was a mind blowingly wonderful experience, which shopping for your wedding dress should be. I was slightly nervous being a plus size bride (size 16). Semaj was my stylist and he was absolutely incredible. He was incredibly helpful and gave tons of input. He even ended up being the one who pulled the TWO that I fell in love with. I couldn't sing his praises more for making this such an exciting process.
