My husband and I we're on vacation, his first to NY! And we were strolling around checking out all the places the towns have to offer and stumbled upon this gem. When you first walk in you get a great feel of the ambiance and what to expect. A lot people rave about the pizza so we ordered that along with some other items to share. words alone can't describe how amazing the meal was! We got to talking to the staff and loved our visit. If you find yourself in New York you gotta make the commute to this place because the meal will be unforgettable, from start to end this place hit the spot for both my husband and me. This pizza is a hidden gem in our area. If you're living in Long Beach and you're convinced Ginos is the best, this place blows food poisoning Ginos out of the water. In my opinion DaVinci'a pizza beats Prince St pizza in NYC is known for the best pizza. The taste is outstanding, there is no flop, light, crisp in all the right places, the sauce is amazing, and is always consistent. Went there on a recent Sunday with 6 relatives to celebrate a cousin's birthday. 6 of the main dishes were very good and the service and ambiance were fine. I ordered the steak pizzaola partly because the menu said it was a ribeye steak. However, when I started to eat it I realized it was a chuck steak , which is not as tender and soft as a ribeye. I was very disappointed, but did not call attention to it or send it back so as not to put a damper on the celebration. Needless to say my meal was not enjoyable. It would be nice if the owner's occasionally walk around the dining room and interact with the customers. I have never seen that happen here. read more

This place was my boyfriend's and I first worst restaurant experience. The location was nice and the seating booths were very comfortable. Overall clean surroundings and location. The food was really bad though, The presentation of the plate and the food was terrible. The food itself was not good either. I can review the entire menu because I've tried just about every selection. This chef is extraordinary and can compete with the best. Fried calamari is kicked up 3 notches with cherry peppers. Anything with chicken meatballs is a "cannot go wrong" choice. If there is a veal chop on the specials menu order it! Fish dishes are fresh and prepared in a creative kitchen. Shrimp Monachina is one of my favorites. Full bar. Very attentive and friendly service. On of the owners is always present and makes sure everyone is happy. Parking is not a challenge. Not the easiest place to find but well worth the extra effort. Opposite the Island Park LIRR Railroad Station. Difficult for me to eat at any other local Italian restaurant after experiencing the creative dishes here and consistency of excellence. Found this place randomly on yelp. Came in on a Monday. A nice place with good atmosphere. I ordered the antipasta for two which could easily be an appetizer for four or a meal for one. It was all very good. Then I got the tortellini with asparagus and sundried tomatoes. Which was very filling and delicious as well. Then the owner Marino came over and was very friendly and started talking to us like we have known him forever. His beautiful wife was equally as personable. After my meal I ordered the cheese cake. Had a great dinner here with my fiancé we ordered fried calamari , fried ravioli, pork chop and Cappellini ala vodka (clearly we are not on a diet lol) I really enjoyed my pasta and my fiancé liked his pork chop and the fried ravioli's.
