I have tried, really, really hard to give my business to this local restaurant. I don't know if it changed hands, but every experience for that past few years has been negative, and the prices have gone way up. I have given up, and will never use this establishment again. Tonight was the last straw. Using Door Dash, I ordered a dish under the assumption (from menu) that I was getting gluten free rice pasta, which I paid extra for. When it arrived, it was not rice pasta, which I confirmed by calling "George" at DaVanci's. I told him that I used Door Dash, that I asked for rice (gluten free) pasta and he said they didn't have that. I asked why, then, I wasn't called and told that the food i requested was unavailable. He was very short and loud with me and attempted to argue with me. He finally agreed to do a charge back to my account, and said I would see it shortly on my credit card. I checked over an hour later and the charge back was not there. I called and spoke to the same man, who now told me that (1) I had to wait longer for the charge back to show up, then, immediately after (2) that he COULDN'T charge it back because I bought it through Door Dash and that he had no way of doing it. He was telling me 2 totally contradictory stories but ultimately said that he couldn't help me, and that I had to deal with Door Dash to get my money back. I will NEVER use DaVinci's again as they were so rude to me, never acknowledged their mistake (even though it wasn't a preference, it was a food allergy) and still have not told me a straight story. My business will be going to Jack's in Island Park from now on. read more

I came here on a Saturday with 6 people and we got fried calamari and artichoke hearts for apps which were really good. As for the dinner, no one was really impressed with their food. I got the salmon sozzi which I thought was ok, but some parts were a little dry. My boyfriend also got a fish dish that he said was too mushy. Another person got an eggplant dish and said it was way too saturated and vinegary. Our waitress was also slow on serving us and we probably would not go back here for dinner. read more

My husband and I we're on vacation, his first to NY! And we were strolling around checking out all the places the towns have to offer and stumbled upon this gem. When you first walk in you get a great feel of the ambiance and what to expect. A lot people rave about the pizza so we ordered that along with some other items to share. words alone can't describe how amazing the meal was! We got to talking to the staff and loved our visit. If you find yourself in New York you gotta make the commute to this place because the meal will be unforgettable, from start to end this place hit the spot for both my husband and me. I can review the entire menu because I've tried just about every selection. This chef is extraordinary and can compete with the best. Fried calamari is kicked up 3 notches with cherry peppers. Anything with chicken meatballs is a "cannot go wrong" choice. If there is a veal chop on the specials menu order it! Fish dishes are fresh and prepared in a creative kitchen. Shrimp Monachina is one of my favorites. Full bar. Very attentive and friendly service. On of the owners is always present and makes sure everyone is happy. Parking is not a challenge. Not the easiest place to find but well worth the extra effort. Opposite the Island Park LIRR Railroad Station. Difficult for me to eat at any other local Italian restaurant after experiencing the creative dishes here and consistency of excellence. How does this guy slice eggplant so thin and make it a highlight of any dish he adds it to? I just don't know. But he does! read more

This pizza is a hidden gem in our area. If you're living in Long Beach and you're convinced Ginos is the best, this place blows food poisoning Ginos out of the water. In my opinion DaVinci'a pizza beats Prince St pizza in NYC is known for the best pizza. The taste is outstanding, there is no flop, light, crisp in all the right places, the sauce is amazing, and is always consistent. Found this place randomly on yelp. Came in on a Monday. A nice place with good atmosphere. I ordered the antipasta for two which could easily be an appetizer for four or a meal for one. It was all very good. Then I got the tortellini with asparagus and sundried tomatoes. Which was very filling and delicious as well. Then the owner Marino came over and was very friendly and started talking to us like we have known him forever. His beautiful wife was equally as personable. After my meal I ordered the cheese cake. Went there on a recent Sunday with 6 relatives to celebrate a cousin's birthday. 6 of the main dishes were very good and the service and ambiance were fine. I ordered the steak pizzaola partly because the menu said it was a ribeye steak. However, when I started to eat it I realized it was a chuck steak , which is not as tender and soft as a ribeye. I was very disappointed, but did not call attention to it or send it back so as not to put a damper on the celebration. Needless to say my meal was not enjoyable. It would be nice if the owner's occasionally walk around the dining room and interact with the customers. I have never seen that happen here. read more

The food is always delicious and when my order has been incorrect in the past they have been excellent about making changes to meet our needs. Had a great dinner here with my fiancé we ordered fried calamari , fried ravioli, pork chop and Cappellini ala vodka (clearly we are not on a diet lol) I really enjoyed my pasta and my fiancé liked his pork chop and the fried ravioli's.
