Davis Creamy serves as THE consistent, clean, and quality location for your ice cream fix. The patio area, trash bins, and interior were all well maintained during my late evening visit. Service was extremely welcoming and helpful when navigating the assortment of their many unique flavors, of which you are invited to sample 2 flavors. I tried the ube and chocolate mint flavors, both of great quality. Both flavors were rich, creamy, and didn't have the artificial taste that you sometimes taste at other stores. Servings are quite generous as my $4.50 single scoop was more like 2-3 scoops of ice cream. With prompt, friendly service, a clean location, generous portions, and quality ice cream at a decent price, Davis Creamery serves is a MUST visit for any Davis passerby.
Stopped by this place on our way thru Davis looking for some ice cream. Overall it was pretty good! The prices were fair for the size scoop you get. I do like how they have lots of unique flavors, but because of this, I do wish you got more than 2 samples per person. I may have to come back some time to try the others they have. Service was also good as well, very friendly and helpful. Would recommend!
We had a long day at the soccer fields and wanted a special treat before heading out. I saw this place had rave reviews, and when we drove past there was a line out the door! Seems like it was true! So we waited and it did not disappoint. There are tons of special flavors and they did allow you to taste them if you were not sure. We stuck with the normal ones, but they were delicious nonetheless.
A must-stop if you're visiting Davis. Whether it's a pit-stop after touring UC Davis or a dessert stop after dinner downtown, you can't go wrong with coming here. You can feel the homemade, small mom-and-pop shop vibes when you enter, which is the BEST (but I'm biased because small business yogurt spots and creameries was my childhood)! I could have used a little more energy from the person working, but considering they had a group of 15-20 people before us and they were the only employee there, I give them credit. It's not easy working food service. And not everyone can fake it 'til they make it. Nonetheless, they let you sample 2 flavors (but if there's nobody behind you, one more wouldn't hurt) and they have a ton of cool ones to try, so choose your two wisely! I sampled the Bridgadeiro (a Brazilian dessert that resembles a chocolate truffle) and the Ube. I've never had a bridgadeiro, but I was blown away; it was SO GOOD! I was a little nervous about it because chocolate can easily taste artificial in frozen desserts, but they made this flavor perfect. I wasn't in love with the Ube (it could have been just a little creamier and fuller), so I got the Coffee Oreo instead. Didn't sample the Coffee Oreo (but do you really need to? It's coffee and oreo. C'mon) and it was delicious. The waffle cone was fresh and tasty and didn't leak much at the very end (I'm a slow ice cream-in-a-cone devourer, it comes with the territory). Their website says they may change flavors daily, so you never know what you're going to get. Ah, the beauty of it all.
I've been here many times. However this one faithful visit was a dud. The waifu got the single scoop that were split into two different flavors. That's not bad. What was bad was the stale waffle cone that the ice cream was served in. It was bendable bc it was so stale. There was absolutely no crunch to the waffle cone at all. How deplorable! Normally waifus are easy to please but hard to satisfy. However this time I agree with her disgusted look towards the waffle cone. Now this isn't to say that no one should ever go to Davis creamery. I am also not saying the staff picked the worst waffle cone to serve to us. However a date night that ends with an ice cream outing ought to include a crunchy fun to eat waffle ice cream cone is just really frustrating to a princess or a spoiled Yelp critic. And the expired, doughy, chewy waffle cone was such so offensive that the waifu just gave up eating the cone and ice cream altogether. And since I never throw away food, I ended up eating the whole waffle cone. And let me tell you, the waffle cone was lackluster and lifeless. Go try for yourself Davis creamery. My sugar cone was aight. Just the right amount of crisp and crunch. But beware the stale chewy waffle cone that cost an extra $1.50 (Sorry for the first world problem whining; I sound like an Asian kid whose jingjing just earned him a 5 star mehmeh)
I don't often write Yelp review anymore - but please accept this as my petition to keep Pandan Coconut as a reoccurring flavor!! We sampled it during bracket week and waited until the following week to buy the whole quart. My filipino family gives it a 10/10 . Not too sweet, consistency amazing, and the accessibility of GOOD ice cream in Solano County makes me want to buy multiple gallons to keep for myself. I personally am the type to not like coconut shreds in my Pandan ice cream, so this one is top tier for us. Thank you Davis Creamery for not just offering Ube, but also Pandan. Such an underrated filipino dessert but honestly better that Ube IMO.
I've tried quite a bit of ice cream and this is definitely some of the best I've had in a long time. I was ecstatic to see all the cow-themed merchandise & decorations for Davis. Service was friendly and hard working! My boyfriend and I shared 2 scoops (chips ahoy + oreo and the trifecta). Both were absolutely delicious and not too sweet. My only feedback is to add more of the Chips Ahoy + Oreo bits into the ice cream. I can't wait to come back and hopefully try their Avocado Coconut flavor! I purchased a cute cow printed reusable straw as a souvenir. Definitely drop on by for delicious ice cream and good vibes! You won't regret it!
Saturday in Davis so of course ice cream sounded delicious - this spot came recommended by a restaurant down the street. We sampled a couple flavors and ended up with ube and cookies and cream coffee. Ice cream had great flavors but if you prefer harder ice cream, this was not it. Would've been perfect for me if the texture was harder. Server was friendly and place was clean!

I love to get one scoop with two flavors ($4.25) which is really sweet price. I really love going spring time because of the tea flavors like oolong, jasmine tea. There are also deals from Monday - Friday ranging from discounted pints to single scoops. On Monday's 5-10pm, single scoops is $3.25. The place is super vibrant with many items to purchase such as plushies, soaps, cards, etc. Expect waits, but the lines moves pretty quickly and there's a lot of variety of flavors to choose from. No seating indoors, but there's seating outside. Currently, ice cream bracketology is happening which is finding the new best ice flavor for this year. Customers get to submit new flavors a few weeks prior to bracketology starting. Two samples per person. I suggest you get a waffle cone (+1.75) because it's made fresh daily, I also get slightly larger scoops too. Make sure to grab a stamp card too if you go often! read more

Davis Creamery was one of the highlights of college for me. Their constantly rotating flavor selection aligns with the season or holiday and they'll have certain days where they allow customers to sample 2 new experimental flavors and tally up votes to decide which one to make permanent. Notable flavors were lavender, black tea, jasmine tea, sweet potato, and ube. Prices have gone up slightly as a result of inflation, but a small scoop is still much more reasonably priced and affordable than other ice cream shops in the area. Servers are patient with sampling and long lines. There's no indoor seating anymore after the pandemic, but there's outdoor seating and a tiered bench lit by fairy lights that's ideal to sit and people watch, given how common of a first date spot it is. Highly recommend this spot for Davis visitors and Davis students especially - enjoy Davis Creamery while you still live near it! I miss it every day, especially during those moments where I'm paying $10 for a similar-sized cup of ice cream in the bay area read more

Davis Creamery is certainly preferable over the chain ice cream options in town. The ice cream is, indeed, creamy. But I struggle to give it a higher rating for a few glaring issues. Their chocolate ice cream is just not chocolately enough. It's like chocolate for people who don't like chocolate. I was so excited this summer when they tested out the Brigadeiro flavor, which was finally the rich chocolate taste I've been wanting! But it has only been available once during my biweekly visits since. That's the other thing. Unless your favorite is one of the Creamery standards, it's never certain that you'll be able to get a flavor you like. That might be a plus for the more adventurous eater, but I have tried too many misses (honey, goat cheese, and fig, I'm looking at you) to go seeking hits. Lastly, the ice-cream-adjacent products are pretty lackluster. The cowpies come with stiff, unyielding cookies. The lava cake sundae is presented unheated, making it no better than a stodgy brownie. The only non-ice-cream purchase I can really recommend is the cow mug, which is excellent. I think the Creamery is still worth a visit. My recommended accompaniments are a stack of used books from Logos and a good friend. read more

Love Davis Creamery. 1) Staff are very friendly. 2) Impeccable selection of delicious flavors 3) Convenient location and cool ambiance 4) Fantastic, budget-friendly prices 5) Delicious ice cream!!! I recently enjoyed Davis Creamery through their catering service, and I had the opportunity to taste two flavors - Oreo Coffee and Salted Caramel. The Oreo Coffee was my favorite - the coffee flavor was bold and smooth but not overpowering, and the Oreo cookie crumbles provided a pleasant crunchy texture. I was not a fan of the Salted Caramel, which was denser than the Oreo Coffee flavor, and the rich, buttery flavor made it feel overly-decadent. Overall, Davis Creamery has been a staple at many local events because they consistently deliver delicious, high quality ice cream in unique flavors (I've seen Avocado Coconut and Thai Tea flavors). When I visited their scoop shop downtown, they served generous scoops and offered discounts to UC Davis students and alumni. Davis Creamery is a community favorite that stands out for excellent quality and service, even among the abundance of dessert offerings in downtown Davis. read more

Super creamy ice cream. One of the best! Super busy but the line moves fairly quickly. You can sample 2 flavors. Ordered 3 flavors and I dug into it before remembering to take a pic. Staff didn't look extremely happy as I can only imagine how busy this place gets & only had 2 people working. There's tables and a bench area outside to sit & enjoy your ice cream. ALWAYS a must stop whenever in Davis and craving ice cream! My husband and I never leave Davis without something sweet and it's because of this spot. They have a wide variety of flavors to satisfy any sweet tooth. My husband's go-to is the Brigadeiro and I am the type that likes to try something new. If you're like me, this ice cream spot has so many flavors, they rotate their flavors almost every day! Every time I visit there's always a new flavor in the menu that I haven't seen before. Today I decided to sample the Pumpkin Chai and Crème Brûlée, but ended up getting the Honey Lavender because I'm a sucker for anything lavender. We also came on the perfect day because it was Monday during their happy hour and the special was $3.50 for a 1 scoop! Definitely was the perfect date night with a scoop ice cream for a good price. Overall, the service the workers provide is always a smooth process and the ambiance especially at night makes for a sweet cozy night outside with their string lights and plenty of seating and heaters. read more
passed through davis for dinner and wanted a sweet treat after. saw that davis creamery had high reviews due to its flavors. // ambiance // there is a small inside with an area to stand and line and merch section. there is no indoor seating, but there are outdoor tables. // service // employees were friendly. two samples per person. // price + portion // we got a double for $6.50. this was a very good price for ice cream shops nowadays, and each scoop is actually around ~2 scoops so the double portion was huge! more like 4 scoops, more than enough to share between at least 2 people. even the single scoop is a good portion, so the main reason why i am giving it 4 stars. unfortunately they were out of honey lavender which is the flavor i came here for which was a bummer. i tried apple cobbler (didn't have much of a flavor? didn't taste the apple so i was confused if i got the wrong sample) and brown sugar vanilla (vanilla with a hint of brown sugar, also did not have a strong flavor). coffee oreo: coffee ice cream with chunks of oreo. the oreo was smoothly incorporated. coffee is not too bitter or sweet. caramel pecan sandie: caramel tastes more like the artificial kind. chunks of cookie and pecan. very sweet. // would i reorder/return? // overall, i would return for the price and portions if they had some more interesting flavors like the honey lavender back in stock. the flavors i tried were a bit underwhelming and seemed to lack flavor. read more
I came here after a friend recommended it; since I was there during UC Davis's spring break, there was a sign at the store saying that they were lower staffed than usual and asking us to be patient with the waits. I still found the line moved pretty fast and the workers were helpful and friendly, and it was possible to get samples. I ended up buying two scoops of guava passionfruit and honey lavender. Both were rich and true to the advertised flavor, would definitely recommend the former for something fruity and the latter if you enjoy lavender-flavored foods. It was $6.32 total with tax and tip at the time (this was around mid-late March) which is pretty reasonably priced relative to how much ice cream they heaped into the bowl. Came here on a hot July Sunday afternoon for a sweet treat and really loved the different flavors. I chose the dirty chai and loved the taste! The staff was friendly and attentive. They were unfortunately out of waffle cones (she said they were all kind of broken) and the ice cream itself was kind of melty (right out of the freezer..?) so she offered a cup for less mess. read more

I've had Davis Creamery at a UC Davis alum event, and was impressed with how creamy their ice cream was, immediately wanting to check out their flavors. They have rotating flavors, and I was excited to see their available options when I came. Luckily, it seems I came when there was a lull (even though it was on a Friday evening). The bad thing is that the only place they list their flavors in the shop is next to the actual ice cream, making it impossible to see the flavors until it's your turn to order; this makes deciding on a flavor take even more time... We got three scoops to share: blueberry, apricot rose, and trifecta. (The trifecta had three different candies mixed into vanilla ice cream, I believe. It just tasted like eating a candy bar.) The two fruit flavors weren't super distinctive to me, and I wish they were able to encompass more of the flavor into the ice cream. I sampled ube, but ended up not getting it for that very reason: it didn't taste like anything. This is my favorite ice-cream spot and sits at par with leatherby's in terms of quality. The ice-creams are really fresh and creamy. They have some very good flavors including seasonal. We tried Ube, coffee Oreo, chocolate, vanilla and took cookie cream to go. There are a lot of wonderful things about Davis creamery, and I absolutely consider it a staple of Davis for meetups, hanging out with friends, and dates. In terms of the community they create, the creativity they show in their flavors and products, they definitely excel. I really only wish their flavors were consistently better. I consistently get SO excited about the variety of flavors they have, but end up being a bit disappointed when their lemon tastes like... vanilla. And their cherry blossom tastes like vanilla. And I'm and on. That's not to say they don't have good flavors sometimes, but there are definitely more consistently delicious ice cream places in Davis. They also tend to be very very busy, and as sweet as their workers are they seem a bit stressed at times. Regardless of those little things, Davis Creamery excels in dessert options, choices, and merchandise, I do wish they would post their daily or weekly flavors online, but other than that they have a fun social media presence. I like ice cream. I am lactose intolerant. Not too bad of an intolerance as I'm still able to eat ice cream. Will it stop me from eating a lot of ice cream? No. I also like ice cream shops that are locally owned. Davis Creamery is such a spot. They have some standard flavors and some creative ones to boot. Now we were wondering if we could sample some but due to COVID or even the lack of asking, we decided to just go on a whim from descriptions on the ice cream flavors. We had a normal scoop of Trifecta. It was a nice baseball sized scoop that can be in a cup or cone. We chose a sugar cone and kindly asked for a cup in case things went awry. There were two workers there and they were quite friendly and easily got us what we needed. We easily paid for ice cream with touchless payment. Ah technology. How was the ice cream? Totally hit the spot after dumplings and potstickers. Creamy as you would hope ice cream would be. The trifecta had large chunks of oreos, reeses as well as butterfinger. It was a little heavy on the peanut butter flavor though so if you like chocolate and peanut butter, then this is for you. It is located on the busy E St. and parking can be difficult. There's no seating inside, but there's a bunch of benches outside if you'd like to have your ice cream or hang out. I would totally come back here to try another scoop if we're ever in the area. read more

Everything here is so good! I always get the earl grey lavender when it's in season, but you can't go wrong with any of the flavors. It's a cute shop in the city's downtown area and pretty close to campus. read more
Friendly and helpful staff that enjoy working there! The ice cream was smooth and creamy. We each had a chocolate sundae and both were delicious. I liked the option of the chocolate flakes. I had coffee ice cream and my husband had the combination of birthday cake and lemon poppyseed. All were flavorful. There will be return trips in the future! read more
Really good ice cream in the heart of downtown Davis. If you are in need of something sweet to eat after dinner, or want something fun to take home make sure to visit the Davis Creamery. They've got plenty of tasty flavors sure to make your mouth water. I really enjoyed the birthday cake and the coffee Oreo. The trifecta was also really yummy. Pretty good ice cream! The earl grey lavender was really good and very creamy. It was rich and thick which is just what I like in the texture of ice cream. Some of the other flavors I tried were a little too sweet for me though. The ice cream does melt REALLY fast though so it seemed more like a milkshake than ice cream for me. read more
