The server was so sweet! I had asked about their carry out options and she explained that while they don't do quarts she had helped me figure out what other options i could do with pints. The space is pretty cozy and we'll definite be going there again!

I found a gnat in my ice cream... Cute little shop. I would have loved to bring my little girls here. Not sure anymore.

It was a hot day and traffic was terrible so decided to head to Dairy Queen. NOT happening because only drive thru was open. So I yelped for next ice cream shop and the good scoop popped up. Clean place, cute spot. Tables set up inside and outside. We stayed inside. Love the many options of ice cream especially the non dairy choices. I had chocolate and brownies and vanilla on bottom both nondairy. Must try this place.

Great ice cream shop in Dixon :) My fiancé got the rocky road brownie and I got the ube brownie, both were really good! Good service and plenty of indoor and outdoor dining.

Two words: Ube brownie No seriously if you haven't tried this flavor you're missing out Their ice cream is seriously delicious and I would much rather give this small business my money than pop into Safeway for some known ice cream brands. It's a premium product for pretty much the same price - if not cheaper I also highly recommend their brown sugar with sweet potato chips and marshmallow

Wow-- incredible ice cream shop and worth the stop if you are going to Dixon or passing by. Quick service, many different and unique flavors, and very clean inside. I got the Cookie Monster and it was so good-- perfect for a summer day.

Review #1,000! I was there when Good Scoop originally grand-opened in Davis (2016) and absolutely loved their unique gourmet ice cream flavors, I even had a stampcard going! My first bite of it was cajeta (caramelized goat's milk), and their salted caramel. Later their black sesame ice cream (and black sesame waffle cone) are what snagged me, baby cups of Jasmine Green Tea flavor, Earl Grey Tea ice cream, Lucuma, and coffee scoops. Their daily and seasonal flavors always included interesting tastes such as bay laurel, sage, geranium, cardamom, lavender, etc. Expensive but a fun treat once in awhile. At that time they served Tara's Organic Ice Cream, made in Berkeley/Oakland I believe. I was so sad when The Good Scoop relocated from downtown Davis further out to Dixon a few years ago (2019?), then again little did I know my work would also relocate away from Davis anyway. Was headed home from winetasting in Winters recently and decided to detour and wait out the traffic by stopping into the Dixon Good Scoop for old times' sake. Sounds like the ice cream is now made in Dixon in small batches, with local seasonal ingredients and fresh dairy, as well as plant-based ice creams and sorbets. Dairy sourced from Strauss, coffee and teas from Journey Coffee (Vacaville), macarons from Love+Macarons (Elk Grove), pistachios from Fiddyment Farms (Lincoln), lavender from Araceli Farms (Dixon), etc. Call it Farm to...Spoon? Rather than Farm to Fork or Table, heh. Flavors they had (change monthly) were: mint chip, cookie monster, rocky road brownie, cinilla (cinnamon vanilla), lavender, cookies and cream, coffee, chocolate, pistachio, sweet cream, cherry, chocolate chip, oat cookies and cream, and I recall a Dutch chocolate as well. Apparently they also have a Pint of the Month club and the June flavor was Strawberry Lemonade. On this particular visit, I decided on a "Good Scoop" size in a cup with two flavors: cherry and chocolate. Just missing pistachio and I could've made it into my own version of spumoni, haha. The cherry wasn't overly reddish/pink in color or too sweet, not sure if I noticed any real cherry pieces. It was good, but my favorite was actually the deep dark chocolate ice cream. Unfortunately no samples at this time, so it was mostly based on the scooper's description and the look/sound of each flavor that fueled our decisions. I forget which all flavors my friends got except the [blue] cookie monster that had cookie dough and oreo I think? And the cinnilla for sure. I asked if they'd include a little wedge of waffle as a sort of garnish for my cup but alas, no. Unsure when/if I shall be back, but happy to see this ice cream shop succeed especially nowadays! I like that around Sacramento you can still get fun funky flavors of ice cream at other places like Devil May Care, Goth Creamery, and of course the family creameries that have been around longer.

I absolutely love the good scoop! I remember them being at Davis and having sesame ice cream cones. Those were the best! Going home from work, this is always a treat to stop by. They're prices are super affordable and they have ever changing flavors every month. I inquired having them cater my wedding, but since I'm getting married In Napa , it just wouldn't work. My go to flavors are cookies and creme, horchata, coffee, and pistachio. Around da, they have the pumpkin chai latte! I love how the flavors truly taste homemade and are packed with flavor! I love how they are super generous with their portions and are super friendly! Check in on their registers and start earning your points!

Cookie monster on top, lava on the bottom! Delicious!

We also got a head of Lettuce for under $2 which is a good deal. It's nice and fresh, we got iceberg this time and it was a big head. Last time we got green leaf and the time before that we got the red leaf. All very fresh. Parking was easy. Habit sold out to YUM brands in 2020. The goal for the company that also owns KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut was to make money in CHINA. So instead of a cool, beachy, California burger place, Habit is now just another logo. We all get the same crap food everywhere with a different logo. We cannot emphasize strongly enough how tiny they've made their burgers. They look bigger in our picture than they actually were. They don't taste anything like they used to. We walked into this location after a long drive with two hours still ahead of us. There were two occupied tables that already had their food. We stood there for TEN minutes without anyone saying one word or acknowledging our presence. They looked at us but said nothing. As we stood at the counter, a woman came out of what we think was the bathroom. She had to walk right next to us to go behind the counter. We're thinking "oh good, the front counter person is here". Nope. She walked right by us, made a U-turn around the counter, and headed into a back office. Remember, we had been in our car for several hours. We didn't mind standing. We walked into the store and up to the counter. After 15 minutes of standing there, one of us looked behind us and to the left (closer to the seating area) and said "oh I guess we're supposed to order over there?". Still no contact from the crew. Blank millennial stares. We ordered at the kiosks in the seating area and started looking for a table. They were all covered in either grease, crumbs, pieces of food, or stickiness. We went to the counter to grab a handful of napkins to wipe off a table and a guy behind the counter walked near us. We asked if they had a bus towel or something we could use to clean a table. The only reason for two stars is this guy finally smiled and was pleasant, in at least a retail way. He grabbed a towel walked with us to a table, wiped it and we had a nice wet table top which we then dried with our handful of napkins. As he turned away he said "sorry about that" and we started to say "that's ok thanks for your help", but as soon as we started to say that it was clear he was talking on his headset to a drive through customer. So we're all just cogs in the Yum brands corporate machine One of the last "good" burger places in California is now dead forever. A rotting corpse of a once promising brand to be used and wrung out for every penny Yum brands can get until they spin it off or shut it down or move it to "Asia". Zombie workers kill time for money at their dead end positions, pleasing a manager who is doing the same. All of them biding time until Yum brands figures out how to crank out corporate "food" without any workers at all. Good bye Habit. You used to be good. Your new owners can't even maintain the pepper and condiment bar.

Though near the 80, Ruhstaller Farm is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. There's no conspicuous signage. It's easily possible to drive right by & never know what's here. & yet, the few times I've been here, generally later on a Friday or Saturday night, it's obvious that Ruhstaller Farm is the busiest place for many miles around in any direction. It's somewhat puzzling to me. Add in the idyllic bucolic vibes, & this place feels is a bit surreal to me. There's something about the frolicking farm ambiance here that reminds me of the Aliki Farms skit from the 1st episode Portlandia.* So how do I know about Ruhstaller Farm? A friend I homebrewed with for years lives in Dixon. Being beer nerds enough to brew it ourselves, we'd stumbled across Ruhstaller beers a long time ago. That early stuff was rough. The beers pouring now at Ruhstaller Farm are definitely a drastic improvement. The bar staff has always been friendly. & really, this is a nice place to relax & enjoy a beer. But that's it.
