This was my first time at this event and I really didn't know what to expect…read more Upon arrival I could see that it was a street vendor event, however, what I didnt' anticipate was the vast number of vendors that were there and the number of streets that were blocked off for the event. It started to rain shortly after I arrived but the rain only lasted about 15 minutes so the "party" kept rolling and I got a free Alaskan Airlines umbrella in the interim. Although I was tempted to purchase a cutting board with a swanky etching, I only ended up buying a hot dog from Dawg Eat Dogs. It was good and I probably should have had two. Well, I did also get a nitro cold brew coffee. They had a few classic cars out there and a stage. I did spend some time gawking over the 66s and 67s - good cars that they don't make anymore. I didn't get to hear or see any performances on the stage but I'm sure that they had something at some point during the Festival. Overall not bad, it was an okay way to spend a dreary day outside without getting too soaked.

Nothing else in existence can do for health & nutrition, what real raw local honey & bee products can! Don't make the costly mistake I did: I got rooked by a honey store in Rochester, bot 6 gal. of 2 Other labels, on sale, to get bulk containers, due to circumstances. I wish I'd gotten Bob's!! Won't make this mistake again! Those Other brands were labeled raw honey. Looked legit on outside. But a few years later on opening, both of those were utterly faked! Labels & contents, faked! Those contained a thin syrup-consistency, but no granulation, & slightly un-honey aroma & flavor. Lesson: Even if getting more smaller sized jars, & know it's the real deal, get the good stuff local to you! Avoid suckering for faked! If opaque containers, make store open them to check honey consistency, aroma & taste. If container transparent, roll jar to check if properly thick/slow-moving, & if granulation has started, to help avoid paying dearly, even at sale prices, for fake honey. In the Olympia area, get Bob's raw honey!

Love visiting the Puyallup Farmer's Market when I can! It has a great range of items including not…read moreonly flowers and produce, but crafts, handmade jewelry, soap, wax melts, all kinds of desserts, and more. The "Vintage Bee" coffee cart has great drinks. "Love Lurra" has wonderful bath bombs, bubble scoops, soap, and candles. It's nice that the market has booths both outside, and inside of the pavilion building. Finding parking can be hectic... but the market is worth it.

It's more of a community bizarre, and the pricing is aggressive to say the least. At a recent market, there was a seller selling tomatoes for $11 a pound. How are you selling direct to the public at a rate at almost 4x local stores. Matter of fact, I was in Chinatown this week and a seller was selling tomatoes for $1.40 a pound. No, the Chinatown tomatoes weren't as round or as pretty as the farmers market, but I suspect once sliced they taste the same. Puyallup is a hike, but reviews were plenty and positive. It is so far the largest market we've seen. There were plenty of choices. What I have learned is to walk the property before spending. It's easy to see something you like and buy it only to find another vendor selling for less. I can easily give this place 5 stars for selection, but pricing is a single star. Chocolate at $60 per pound. Jerky at $50 per pound and a glass of lemonade for $8. If you are bringing your signature items to market, be fair in how you price. I can get a gallon of lemonade for less than $5 at Safeway, a pound of jerky from Oberto for about $30 and a pound of candy for about $30 at See's, even closer to $20 if you buy certificates from Costco. I love to support the little guy, but I suspect short of the farmers, some of these sellers are doing very well for themselves.

We've came for the Sunday Parade for the past 2 years, and my toddler enjoys it. Kids can play in the Town Center Plaza, where there is the splash pad, and booths with activities, and a stage setup for the band. The food options are decent (Filipino, burgers, pineapple drinks, Mexican snacks, etc.), but expect to wait for the food for a while (30+ minutes) if you go after lunch hours. Also, it's always super hot since there isn't much shade, so bring lots of water and covering if you plan to stay for a while. Tip: 1) Come on Friday if you don't like crowd 2) Parade starts at 1PM on Sundays 3) If you want to enjoy some food without waiting, go to the food area (in the library parking lot) before noon.

Got some Chicken Quesadillas from the Antojitos Lucy Mexican Food vendor, which was very tasty! Also bought a Watermelon drink. SO frickin' good!!! Saw more Food Vendors - a Corn Dog place, Greek Gyro tent, Ice Cream, Garlic Fries, Elephant Ears, Funnel Cakes, Hamburgers, Pulled Pork, etc. Browsed around the 3 blocks or so.... The absolute best thing about this farmer's market are the flower stands. There are so many of them…read moreand they really deliver on long-lasting flowers that are beautiful and cheap. I've purchased so many $5 bouquets from here over the years. Food trucks - they have 'em and there are plenty of folks from the surrounding offices lined up to get at them and order. I've never been blown away by something I had from one of the food trucks here and, strangely enough, have had better food from the same trucks in other locations. I don't know what that's about but there you have it. I never use this street for driving, despite working downtown for many years and living in the Stadium District, so I've always thought it was a great location - close enough to get to, not important enough to make me cranky. Though, location does seem to make it easy to forget! October's arrival usually means my house is a little less colorful.
