I had amazing haircut with Olga! Salon is very nice, plenty of street parking in the neighborhood. I was very happy with my haircut because my hair is very thin and tangly, but Olga understood my hair type and not only kept my hair length during haircut but made them shiny and recommended me some products for tangly hair. I do not like leaving bad reviews because I believe everyone has off days, however this has been the worst experience I've had in a long time. I did my wedding hair and makeup trial here and not only was the service triple what I was initially quoted, it was not at all what I asked for. I was told when I scheduled it would be a collaborative experience, I would be able to come in with pictures of what I like and my dress and get advice as to what would look best and fit my wedding. The stylist providing the service was aloof and not helpful in the slightest. My consultation before we got started was mostly the stylist shrugging and saying whatever I wanted to do. I do not wear a lot of makeup so I stressed that I really wanted light natural makeup because I still want to feel like myself. Throughout the makeup service I was not shown the process and was told to keep my eyes closed the entire time and any questions were one word and confusing. I left full glam and felt like a done up clown. After politely posing for the pictures requested and getting out of there we let the owner know we were unhappy with the service and did not want to move forward with them for the wedding. Worst of all, the salon promised a refund after I showed them photos and explained the disaster in detail--but surprise: that refund never came. I have been given the run around now and have been told that if I didn't leave in tears then I was happy with the outcome of the service. As someone who works in the service industry I will always be polite to staff even if I am unhappy with it, I should especially not have to be gaslit into believing i am at fault when staff were not communicative or helpful. If you are looking for full glam this is the salon for you if you want anything else, go somewhere else. read more

Short version: One stylist (I believe Galinda) was very quick and skilled, and did my friend's hair amazingly. The other stylist did not provide the service requested, and was so slow that my group ran out of time for all of us to seen to. Despite this we were all charged full price for services we didn't receive. To the salon: if you do not have time to give everyone the service they're asking for, please do not accept the appointment. Long version: I called the salon to see if there was availability for three walk in appointments for blowouts. My friends and I were attending a wedding that day, and asked if it was possible for us to be done by 3:30. The woman on the phone said she had to see when the "other stylists" would be back from working another event, and she would call me back. She did soon after, saying that the salon could take us and that it would be $95-$125 per blowout, depending on styling. This seemed like a high price to me, but as it was a last minute appointment I agreed, and we were scheduled to arrive at 2pm. I wad under the impression that there would be a few stylists free who could see to us simultaneously. My friends and I arrived a little before 2. Immediately one friend was handed off to a stylist I didn't get the name of. The main stylist, who I believe was Galinda, was working with another client already but said she would see to us soon after. Galinda didn't finish with that client until around 2:30, when she started working on my remaining friend. And to Galinda's credit, she quickly gave my friend a very nice looking blowout and was done around 3pm. The other stylist working on my first friend did not give her a blowout. She washed her hair, dried it without using a round brush, used a curling iron to give her all over ringlets, and then doused the whole thing in hairspray. This took her an hour. After the fact, my friend had to brush through her hair to separate the ringlets a bit and make it look nice. At this point, I knew I knew I wouldn't be getting a blowout either. I have thick hair that would have taken longer than the 30 minutes we had remaining to wash, dry, and style. Galinda was already seeing a different client that I presume had made an appointment in advance. So I was given to the other stylist. Galinda instructed that stylist to just curl my hair, because she realized there was no time to wash and dry it. My hair already had a lot of volume and wave to it, but I had frizzy ends, so I simply asked if she could instead neaten them up for time's sake. The stylist pulled out a straightening iron, and I clarified that I didn't want her to straighten all my hair because I didn't want to lose the volume. She said she understood, and took a section of hair to illustrate what she was going to do. She used the iron to create a small curl on the bottom third of the hair, which I approved. She then started to work on the back. By the time she made it to the side of my head, I could see in the mirror that she was straightening all of the hair and curling the bottom. I realized that she had probably done that to the back. It was too late to correct her, as having wavy sides and a straight back would look bad. I didn't say anything until she got to the top of my head, when she started bringing the iron right to my roots. I stopped her then and reminded her that I asked her not to flatten out my hair's volume. She basically said, "Oh, right!" My friend's tried to make suggestions on how the look could be improved, but it was already 3:20 at this point. Galinda overheard and said that the stylist could quickly tease my hair to bring some of the volume back. The stylist seemed confused, so Galinda abandoned her client and came over to help. In 5 minutes she added some volume back in, and got the hair style into a reasonable shape. It wasn't what I had wanted originally, but it looked nice. Neither me or my friend who were seen by the second stylist were pleased, but we had no time left, so we went to pay. Despite my hair not being washed or dried, I was charged the full $95. I did not receive the service I asked for, and didn't want to pay that much, but we would run late for the wedding if we stayed to argue. So I paid and left the salon. I think Maison Blanc has at least one good stylist working there. If you get anyone else, you might be disappointed. And definitely don't try to squeeze in an appointment if you're in a hurry. read more

Getting my hair styled by Olga always changes my week ahead for the better. Olga is (when she is not styling and cutting hair) an actual artist, and I have her artwork on my walls. But for those guys interested only in getting haircut, you should know that Olga was trained by a very expensive Hollywood hair designer. And she is very willing to work with you to get the cut that you prefer. It was just as I expected, white-glove service from the moment I stepped into Maison Blanc Luxury Salon. I was greeted at the door with assistance to put up my coat. And offered a seat in the waiting area accompanied by the owner, who cared to learn more about me. I love the small town compassion and hospitality combined with the high end ambience of Paris. Tea was offered in an elegant porcelain tea cup and saucer. Their makeup artist Nayibe Flores has a talent for bringing out an individual's best qualities. I looked absolutely irresistible by the time Galina, the salon owner, and Nayibe where done with my hair and makeup. They can create different looks from a more natural and professional to glamorous. I've been going to Galina for over 6 years now and have never been disappointed!! She listens to your needs and gives the most spot-on recommendations. I've seen many blonde hair specialists, but only Galina has been able to find the color that perfectly compliments my skin tone. I feel like I don't even have to wear makeup afterwards - because her color brings out the best in my skin! I don't cut my hair often, but Galina has done a great job with my regular trims and has never cut too much. Again, so awesome to have a stylist who listens! To top it off, Galina's new salon is absolutely gorgeous. You feel like you are getting a spa experience, with great coffee and biscotti... or champagne! ;) I also love that there is lots of free parking. She did an excellent job of framing my features and styling for my hair type (I have a lot of hair but it's extremely fine). It's worth it for me to drive from Renton to Wallingford for a haircut with Galina. Her salon is like walking into the past, when everyone seemed to have more time, the luxury to sit back and let a gifted stylist make you look and feel like a pampered princess. Her sense of style and taste is impeccable, even down to the beautiful white decor of her small salon. As a fairly new salon, it can be hard to stand out among all the other salons in the Seattle area, but let me tell you, this is one place that is filling up because of word of mouth.
