This afternoon, I called at 3:50 when I discovered my furnace wasn't working. I was told a tech would call me right back. I called again at 5 pm. I was told again, "The tech will call you back immediately." I just called again at 7:00 pm. Finally, someone calls me back to tell me they are booked until next Wednesday. I spent the evening depending on a company I've used for years. I could've gotten someone else had I been told the first time that they had no availability. This is NOT the way to do business. You've lost a customer. And, several of my friends who use this business because of my recommendations will hear about today's experience. Wow.

My home is nearly 100 years old and uses a boiler and radiators for heat and a high velocity SpacePak system in the attic for air conditioning. I bought the home in 2020 and it had been flipped, so you know it has its fair share of quirks. Dave and the crew have serviced all aspects of our heating and cooling systems at this point, from smaller boiler issues to much larger AC issues. The AC system was basically falling apart when I moved in and they helped me get a few extra years out of it. This past spring, we finally pulled the trigger on a complete replacement. Dave came to look everything over again and gave me a few different quotes to choose from. The team dismantled the old system and installed the new one in about a day and a half. Great! But once summer rolled around and I started using the new system, I found that it wasn't cooling like it should. Uh-oh. Dave and the crew put in countless extra hours and additional labor (at no cost to me) until it was all running correctly. It turned out it was no problem with their installation (not that I had any doubts) but with some very specific and hard-to-detect issues with the manufacture of the condenser unit (which was brand new from the manufacturer). I was blown away that Dave and his team would put in so much extra effort to get to the bottom of things and that they maintained their usual friendly, professional attitude even though it was a frustrating situation for them working in a hot attic! All along the way they were very communicative and had ideas and plans and back-up plans and kept at it until they solved the problems. I'm so happy I went with Dearborn Heating and Cooling for this work. I can't imagine another crew would have had the same commitment to quality or the level of knowledge needed to solve such a specific, unexpected issue. They really stand by their work and won't stop until the customer is happy, which feels really rare these days. The manager Mike said it may take a few hours but that they would hurry to make it as fast as possible knowing how cold the house was. They were there within the hour! Talk about fast!!! A professional young man named Alex greeted us and was able to diagnose and jump start our heater that was only 10 years old, within 15 minutes. Unfortunately the fix required a new blower, which was about $680 but luckily he was able to find a heater parts store open that he trusted and had discount with and a 1 year free warranty too. Alex called me from the repair shop to let me know the cost and the time needed to repair (about 2 hours). To wrap up a great service experience with Rightemp, Alex made it so easy for us to pay too via credit card and an emailed my receipt to me. I haven't had this type of service in I don't know how long and I hate to be spoiled but I have to say this is an amazing company. They refused the tip I offered as a policy to the company, but asked if I could just share my experience to people I know and online. OF COURSE I CAN! I thought they should be able to diagnose better than a guess. I called Crain and they were out to the house the next day. They plugged in a tester and informed me that it was the motor control module that was bad. The cost to repair was $1200.00 and the system was 18 years old. I elected to have a complete system (furnace and AC) installed. Crain was there the next day and did a complete install in one day. There was some miscommunication about Lennox financing but that issue falls to Lennox rather than Crain. Workers were prompt and courteous. They covered my basement carpet with a tarp and even covered my wood flooring steps with a tarp trying to be overly cautious of my home. I thought the tarp on the steps was dangerous for them but that's what they did. I don't believe the cost of the system was out of line. Prompt service, good pricing, courteous workers, steps taken to protect my home, and the install went smoothly. Not sure what more you could ask for. There is always someone who will find fault with some minuscule detail but they did a good job for me. The most important question, Would I recommend this company to you. Answer, Yes. He thoroughly checked out the furnace which is over 20 years old. He left for 45 minutes to get the parts, came back and we had heat before noon. So, basically it was prompt services, Mason was very competent, informative and friendly, and I was very satisfied with Ciamillo. The price was more than I anticipated, but I don't really know what the average rate would be for the repairs that were done. We had another pricey quote for lower-end equipment than Ciamillo offered. Another company said we'd have to wait because they were busy. Ciamillo gave us a very reasonable quote without the need to haggle, and were done in a couple of days. They told us A/C would have to be turned ON the next summer, and they showed up and did it when the time came. They also registered all our warranties for us without us even asking about it, which was very professional and caring of them.
