I've been going to Day Day Up Tea since they first opened because I love boba -- and I was excited to see a local boba shop in Lafayette. The drinks are great (I highly recommend the Purple Galaxy), but what really makes this place special is the tea culture that Qingqing shares with the community. One day my little sister noticed that the owner, Qingqing, offers tea classes, and we decided to try one. It ended up being such a wonderful experience. Qingqing is a tea master from China and I have never met someone so passionate about sharing her culture. Through her classes I've learned so much about traditional Chinese tea, and it has honestly opened up a whole new interest for me. If you're coming for boba, you'll find delicious drinks. But if you're interested in traditional tea, I genuinely challenge you to find a better traditional Chinese tea experience anywhere in the Denver metro area. How unexpected to find such a high quality teahouse in an unassuming strip mall! The space is inviting, with a mix of seating options: bar-like counter, low tables, and standard ones. There is a display cabinet with beautiful and unique tea sets and accessories. They have a great selection of boba drinks and traditional teas. On a recent visit, my friend and I tried a couple of the teas. At first, the prices felt a bit high, but considering the quality of the teas and the fact that each order came with a full teapot, it actually was reasonable. Incredible place. Our daughter just moved here. This is the best "authentic" tea I have found. We are out of state-midwest and I look hard whenever traveling. Walking into this place it is different than any other boba place I've visited. I was greeted as soon as I came through the door and was given a drink recommendation too. There's cute wicker chairs and different types of tables to sit at. Aside from boba there is a hot tea option that you can try different flavors for. A casual version of high tea is the vibe I was getting. Overall would recommend checking this place out. Chai coffee tea: 8/10- The small tea was $6.25 which is a little pricey but the flavor was good. I could taste both the chai and coffee. It wasn't super sweet either. Super cute authentic tea house just recently opened up a month ago. I love the beautiful furniture and they have a ton of tea sets and accessories for sale on display. The prices are in line with other tea places and may even be cheaper AND they offer a super size bucket that you can share with your bestie for only $9!! I may just have to go back and get one for myself lol. I ordered a large jasmine green milk tea with boba and pudding force. It was delicious. The owner was super sweet and answered all my questions. There are so many other flavors I want to try and will be returning. I also want to try their traditional GongFu Tea Service. Great place to work remote as well. I really usually like this place. I take my daughter here almost every week for doing good in school almost like a reward. It started out amazing with the 2 older ladies. Now after school there is a younger girl that works there. She is constantly with her friends so we usually do not get immediate attention. My daughter orders the same every week. The tiger sugar, a few weeks ago it tasted like just milk that I paid roughly 7 dollars for. I was a little distraught so instead of complaining I now pay to get extra flavor so it doesnt just taste like milk....today I ordered the blue galaxy which is my usual and sad to say I paid 7 dollars for colored water. Of course she was to distracted with her friends and phone. I truly like this place but will now be looking for another location to reward my daughter due to the inconsistenty with our drinks and the service. read more

I tried the banana milk tea and I could really taste the banana flavor. The tea was a bit weaker than I like, but it was good enough. The boba was also soft and chewy as it should be, overall comfy spot to sit down if you have a bit of time. read more

What a wonderful spot! I drove all the way from Denver to check out this place and it was absolutely worth it. Qing Qing, the owner, is the sweetest and truly knows what hospitality means -- give her a chat and you will see! Qing Qing is also incredibly knowledgable on tea. It is one thing to be a place that sells tea, it is another to be a tea house! She learned her craft at a tea school in China, which was the coolest thing I've ever heard (I didn't even know tea schools existed)! On top of the kind and knowledgable owner, the ambiance is absolutely wonderful in here. You can tell a lot of thought was put into making a visit to this shop both a comfortable and a welcoming experience. The decor is absolutely beautiful -- there is even decor in the bathroom! There is free wifi and (from what I could tell) some outlets as well. One of the coolest things about Day Day Up Tea is that they offer Gongfu tea ceremonies, which is (based on my limited understanding) the Chinese version of a tea ceremony. Just give the place a call to make a reservation! I believe they take groups up to 6 people. As for the actual drink I ordered, I got an earl grey milk tea with boba. They offer the non-dairy option of almond milk, which I got. The drink was perfectly sweetened and was happily enjoyed! I really enjoy a balanced boba drink and find that most places make their drinks way too sweet -- no issue here! I am excited to come back and try the other teas, particularly a simple brewed tea. The marker of a good tea house is if a plain brewed tea is delicious, and I have no doubt that Qing Qing would brew a killer cup of tea! This tea house is charming and authentic! There is a wall of beautiful lighted glass cases with lovely teapots, cups and accessories. I tried lavender milk boba tea - delicious! And herbal chrysanthemum tea with the golden flower unfolding in a glass pot - also delicious. We had several kind of snacks that were homemade and very tasty. The quality of the tea and selection is good but the setup for single cup serving is lacking. Order a cup of tea and was giving a paper cup with loose leaf tea and a filter cloth to prevent the tea from coming out. There was no way to remove the leaves to prevent over brewing. The temperature was too high for the type of tea I was drinking. So the tea was too boiling hot to drink initially and bitter and over brewed by the time it was cool enough. read more

This is the coolest place in Boulder County. True, authentic Chinese teahouse. With plenty of savory and sweet food options and a really nice owner. Especially love their lavender milk tea and the white tea options. I always get a little cake on the side.
