Cutest diner with classic menu staples and all elevated with a creative twist -- Daymaker Cafe is the kind of spot that just gets it right every single time. The decor is charming, the vibes are fun, and the service here is consistently outstanding. On my most recent visit, our server Brenda was an absolute gem -- bubbly, warm, and the kind of personality that genuinely makes your whole table smile. Beyond the usual diner beverages (love their coffee btw), they also have a full bar! But the real star? The menu. The diversity is impressive -- I've worked my way through the kimchi breakfast rice, huevos rancheros, breakfast sammy, and the classic pancake stack, and I have loved every single dish. I always find myself wanting to try something new, and I am never disappointed. Food comes out quickly, hot, and fresh -- portions are generous (a to-go box has definitely been needed), and the flavors deliver across the board. Even the classics taste like they were made with care. Fun atmosphere, delicious food, incredible staff -- Daymaker Cafe is a must-visit. Check them out!

Came for brunch with a friend and we had the best time! If you're planning on coming in on a weekend, make sure you join the waitlist early. We planned to meet at 12pm and I joined the waitlist at 10am. We were sat almost immediately when we got there so the wait was no issue for us! The service was amazing. Everyone there was so kind and helpful. The hosts, the servers, and the food runners were all so personable! I was kind of shocked because it was BUSY but everyone was still upbeat, attentive, and we never felt rushed. It really added such a great vibe to our lil brunch date. The food was great. We had the bacon fritters, chicken schnitzel caesar, ham & cheese crepe, and the pastrami sandwich. The bacon fritters were good. I'd probably order something different next time, but I'm happy I tried them. The ham & cheese crepe was delicious! I'm a fry snob and these crispy potato wedges were baller. Crunchy, fluffy, and perfectly seasoned. The rich/cheesy crepe paired so well with the fresh salad on top. The chicken schnitzel caesar was also delicious and I am also a caesar salad snob. I normally wouldn't eat this entire portion in one go but I could not stop it was so good lol. The pastrami sandwich was solid. I usually don't like pastrami, but I loved this sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised. The tangy sauce paired really well with the richness of the meat. Really happy we found this place :)

Had breakfast here today and was seated right away. The space has an elevated retro diner vibe that feels both fun and relaxed. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. I ordered the breakfast fried rice--savory, a little spicy, and absolutely delicious. It's the kind of dish you don't realize you need until you have it. The coffee was strong and just right. What a great experience, can't wait to return!

Very trendy spot! I had the Chorizo Benny. Wasn't a fan of the queso but it was an interesting dish.

Left Richmond, TX at 4 am in order to make back to Austin in time for my friend's funeral. My stomach appears to be back to normal after a bout of food poisoning. Stopped at Day Maker Half Day cafe for breakfast. I've only picked up coffee and pastries in their to go area. Today I had the classic breakfast - sausage, egg whites, wheat toast, and hash browns. The breakfast was tasty. I am not a fan of blueberry. I thought the jelly was blackberry however I learned that it was in fact blueberry lemon. Stephanie, my server, offered me fresh toast with honey instead. I gladly accepted the toast replenishment. In addition, I also had a latte with lavender (my new favorite addition). When I arrived at the cafe, the restaurant was pretty quiet. However, now they have had a steady flow of customers.

I was tasked with finding a brunch spot and this one seemed to be the one that won! Austin vibes and no stressing about parking since they have parking. The place was busy, but we found a table without issues. It was Sunday and brunch time so that was a plus to not have a long wait. The dirty queso (spicy chorizo, salsa verde) was delicious. Love the combo of flavors. I ordered the Lone Star Diner Hash. Not going to lie, all the dishes on the menu looked amazing. It was fresh, flavorful and thoughtfully made. Love the savory flavors. Staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely adding this spot to my rotation.

I really enjoyed my breakfast here. I wanted something simple and flavorful. I enjoyed the touch of mango jelly instead of the normal grape or strawberry option. Although, strawberry is always a great option! The service was excellent and very attentive. What a cute place to dine for a yummy breakfast.

Honestly overhyped. It's a fun place to eat with others and there are lots of options for food. The service was great though! We got the steak and eggs as well as the steak bowl. They were good, just nothing where we thought wow we would make the drive to come back. Also, I got a matcha and there was still so much powdered matcha floating in the drink, I couldn't drink it. Anyway, if we were in the area we'd come back, maybe to try a drink again.

Day Maker Cafe was such a cute and bright spot for our weekend brunch plans to get some food in our system and mosey around town. We rarely leave our Northwest Austin bubble, but to celebrate a warm and not so winter day, we knew needed to get out of the house, and hubs found Day Maker as a good spot to get some fuel in ourselves before we signed up for a hike down south as a family excursion. Service from our waitress was extremely friendly, prompt and attentive. She brought us the in-house hot sauce, a virgin Bloody Mary that rocked my socks off, and OJ. We loved our entrees, I went for a cauliflower rice bowl, kiddo got himself the Mac and cheese and devoured it all, and hubs got the Day Maker classic. All of this was fresh and so well made, we can't wait to return. The color and murals all over made it such an inviting and fun Austin mood, and we look forward to brunching here again when we're in the Zilker proximity!

I love Day Maker - I've been twice now and the vibe truly is like a more local, funky ihop but with more eclectic menu options. I had a pumpkin chocolate chip scone and one of their specials (ricotta toast) the first time, and my mom had classic pancakes. The second time I had their bulgogi bowl and my bro had chicken and waffles - all quite good! I've had their white peach mimosa and passion fruit mimosa and both HIT, plus my mom had a peach Bellini last time we went and it was delightful. There is always a bit of a wait on the weekends but there is a lot of turnover and the wait staff are really friendly and helpful. It's a good place to bring kids too, they have a cute kids menu and crayons/color pages. My nieces had a good time :) Overall this is definitely a great local go-to brunch spot! It's right where an ihop used to be, but the way they've done it up with the indoor and outdoor designs as well as vamped up the menu makes it a really fun and welcoming little place. The coffee shop up front does a great job too, I had a lovely lavender pumpkin spice latte last time. Would absolutely come back and rec a visit to any brunch fans in the area!

Food, service, ambience all superb! I've never had trouble getting seated without a wait but I eat after the lunch rush is over. I love the pastrami sandwich with fries and Bloody Mary! Yum! All the employees are friendly and helpful. Very pleasant experience.

Great service. Delicious food. Clean restaurant. I highly recommend getting in their wait list because if you don't you will find yourself waiting and getting hangry. The waiting list is easy to use and convenient. The highlight for me was the Bloody Mary and blueberry cornbread!

If I could give 4 and a half stars I would. The wait is a little crazy, but I think they really are trying to make it as easy as possible. We took advantage of signing up for the waitlist before leaving the house. It was a little quicker than predicted, but not by much. You would never know this used to be an IHOP. The decor is bright and fun, and very brunchy. I was excited to find out that the Jack Allen's restaurant group owns this location as well. The service was outstanding from the hostess on down. We loaded up on cocktails (which came out so fast!) and two shareable plates to start. The maple bacon fritters were crispy and flavorful. The house waffle was savory and just okay. They said they're about to revamp this item. I had the breakfast fried rice and it was delicious. All and all, a great experience and we will be back.

When we walked in, the hostess asked us to return to the first room because she was not at the seating area. She then told us there was no available seating, which was surprising since I had just been inside and saw multiple open seats, including two that had just been vacated. The hostess--her name sounded like Constanza--explained that the room was full because of Memorial Day weekend. When I said we didn't mind waiting since it was only midnight, she then stated they would be closing soon at 1 a.m., even though the posted closing time is 2 a.m. These explanations contradicted each other, and her tone came across as dismissive. She avoided eye contact, offered no real assistance, and ultimately suggested we check for seats ourselves, which felt unwelcoming and unprofessional. For a venue with such a strong reputation, especially on a special occasion, the interaction fell far below expectations. I hope the team can ensure more consistent and courteous service at the host stand moving forward.

We waited maybe 15 minutes at the walk-in line as others progressively started to pile on behind us. Then again, even people in the reservation line were waiting. We were treated nicely, but we definitely could have gotten in right away. By the time we walked in, the place was probably at 60% capacity. It was standing room only at the bar, but not overcrowded by any means. There is a dress code, but it's not entirely clear what it is. Some guy dressed to the 9s got turned away for not having sleeves whereas I got in with sneakers and a t-shirt. They ask for your cellphones upon entering and give you a key in exchange, but there doesn't seem to be any security to enforce it if you don't want to give them up. I have no problem with their policy, but I bet a lot of customers do. Interestingly, their little social experiment seemed to have a positive effect, where we ended up talking to strangers and vice versa. The Powder Room may be making America social again.
