So this family owned business saved my new couch today and made my day. I just moved into a new condo and bought all new furniture that was delivered Sunday. I came home from work to find that my dog had pooped on the new couch and it was literally un-fixable, smelled and I had not even made my first payment on my brand new beautiful couch. I went onto my Apple Maps and entered "nearest carpet cleaner"....I called the number and Kellean (David Day the owners wife) answered. Reminding you this is at around 5:30pm in the afternoon. I told her the above story and she told me that since a house visit would have a minimum service charge and she didn't want me to have to pay that she invited me to her home as long as I could bring the couch cushion over in my car. I agreed to this and when I got there I was greeted by both Kellean and her husband David. David came and looked at the damaged poopy cushion and pillow in my car trunk and went to work. In less than 5 minutes he was done. I asked Kellean if she had change for $100 and she said, "no don't even worry about it...sometimes you have to do nice things for other people." I even offered her gift cards I had on me because I so desperately wanted to give back to these kind people that made my couch look new again out of the kindness of their heart. I feel like unfortunately it is more and more rare to come across special people like David and Killeen who really take pride in their work and are not just in business for the money. David even went to the length of telling me about the product he was using and how it was safe for my dog and hypoallergenic etc., unlike so many other products. You can tell he takes so much pride in his work and wanted to make sure I was happy with what he did. I got referred to Day N Nite from a friend who recently got his carpet cleaned. He raved about what a great job David did and how the carpet looked better than new. So I called the number and booked an appointment. David arrived on time and was extremely friendly and personable. He took the time to walk me through exactly what he would be doing, how he would be doing it, and why he would be doing it that way. I was extremely impressed by his knowledge and professionalism. I took my wife and family out of the house for a couple of hours and was absolutely amazed when I got back. He did such an amazing job. Stains that my kiddos had made were gone! Ok, maybe I contributed to a few, too :) The carpet was better than I had ever remembered it being. Besides just looking cleaner, I asked him, "Why does it feel like the carpet is so much fluffier and softer?" He explained to me that it was kind of like the hair on your head. After a while the oils and dirt and stuff weigh the hair down and make it feel matted. So when you shampoo your hair, it gets rid of all that stuff and makes it feel all better and fuller. He made the analogy to carpet and how all the oils from my feet and the dirt we track in over time just mat the carpet down. And when he cleaned it, he made the fibers clean and they were able to stand up straight again. My feet are loving it! And it made perfect sense.
