Had pancakes and bacon. The pancakes were huge and I had to work to finish them. Bacon was perfectly cooked to the start of crispy without being burnt. Been here a few times and the girls working here are always so nice. You're welcomed with a smile and free to sit where you please. They have a huge counter space and plenty of booths. The most amazing breakfast around called the Little Breakfast. It is anything but little. You get eggs, bacon and sausage, home fries or hashbrowns, toast, pancake or French toast, and coffee and orange juice all for about $12. It is always delicious, hot and speedy. The waitress always remembers us and all of our usual orders which blows my mind. I stopped for Sunday breakfast at DayBreaks Diner in Plainfield, which is located less than a mile from I-395 Exit 88. This popular local hometown restaurant serves up breakfast and lunch all day. The diner was very busy when I arrived here just before noon with most of the tables in the dining room occupied. I found an open seat at one of the two U-shaped lunch counters. I was offered coffee as I took a seat and given some time to go over the menu. The coffee ($1.55) was good with a robust flavor. The breakfast menu offerings include eggs, 3 egg omelets, pancakes, wheat pancakes, banana walnut pancakes, French toast, Belgian waffles, corned beef hash, biscuits & gravy, breakfast sandwiches, and sides. The lunch menu offerings include sandwiches, wraps, burgers, hot dogs, salads, soup, fries, onion rings, mozz sticks, and mac & cheese. Most sandwiches come with fries & pickle. Specials are offered. The prices are reasonable, breakfast entrees $2.99-$9.99 and lunch plates $4.29-$7.95. Pepsi fountain drinks, Citavo coffee, and energy drinks served here. I ordered the Spanish Omelet ($6.35) served with homefries & toast. The omelet was thick, a folded egg filled with taco meat, tomatoes, green peppers, onion, black olives, & cheddar cheese, served with salsa & Hood sour cream on the side. The homefries (fresh cut diced potatoes) were grilled brown and seasoned. The wheat toast had light butter spread and there was a selection of Smuckers preserves & jellies on the counter. The food tasted great and was filling. Despite being very busy, the service was good. The food was flying out of the kitchen and served out promptly to the masses of hungry customers. I received my food in under 10 minutes and given refills on the coffee (waitress walking around with a coffee pot). I had a good breakfast and was off to the casinos for the rest of the afternoon! PARKING out in back of the diner and DO NOT park in the lot across the street. read more

In honesty, I would give them zero stars but we must at least choose 1. Went to this diner today after being there once before and having a good experience. We were seated and asked about drinks. 10 minutes later still no drinks and no it was not too busy. We let the waitress know we had one more person coming so she explained she had to move us to another table. We moved and finally got the coffee and apple juice we had ordered when we first got there which was about 10-12 minutes after ordering it. No apology for taking so long Our other person arrived and we waited another 10-12 minutes then asked a waitress to let our waitress know we were ready. We then waited again, our so-called waitress took the order of the folks that came after our people arrived, she cleaned tables next to us, looked at us multiple times, got drinks for another table, and chatted with customers she obviously was familiar with. At this point, it was now 11. We had been there since approximately 10:15 with our last person arriving at 10:30. The waitress CLEARLY knew we were waiting for her to take our orders although she hadn't even come over to get drink orders for the rest of our party so I don't know why we thought she would take our food orders. I have waited tables, and been a bartender so I can give a little when things are busy but that was not the case here. The case was simply bad service. We got up and walked out. We left 5 dollars on the table to cover the coffee we had received and shouldn't have even done that since she wasted our time. read more

Daybreaks Diner located in Plainfield CT... Worst service we have ever had. First off, the place was not that busy compared to other Saturdays my girlfriend and I have seen. We sat down and the waitress came over and asked if we wanted drinks. Lori said hot cocoa and I got a med orange juice. The waitress walked off and brought us our cocoa and orange juice. My girlfriend and I both said we are ready to order. The waitress (1 of 5) said "I have to tend to other customers first then come right back." She went and gave coffee to 3 other customers, walked past us 5 times and took other orders, filled more coffee and not once came back. We waited 13 minutes. The waitress could have taken our order, submitted it the kitchen and then tended to other customers. I said, that is it, lets go, this is the worst service we have ever recieved here. Dropped money on the table for the drinks and went to Landmark Restaurant where we were able to get sausage gravy and biscuits. It's too bad, they are usually pretty good. Not sure we will be going back there again. read more

They even accommodate my silly dietary restrictions even when they're tedious. I am so so grateful for this establishment. We never go hungry here. A thousands times better than my previous Connecticut Diner experience the night before. This is the quintessential diner...in all the best ways. My mom and I were looking for a breakfast after leaving the Foxwoods resort Casino (meh...whatever), and on the way to Salem, randomly found this place. I was starving because of the terrible dinner the previous night, so I got the athlete's platter (I think that's what it was called). Essentially, a six egg omelet, bacon, potatoes, and toast. I gave my mom the bacon, and ordered a side steak (How cool is it that a diner offers a freaking steak as a side).The omelet was good, steak delicious, and the service was the quick, friendly, to the point service one hopes to receive in a diner experience. We were surprise at this dinner. The food was quick hot and good. Nice inside with good service. A place to go off the beaten path.

We loved the one time that we went here for breakfast! However, the next day, we ordered takeout to eat at home, and when we went to pick it up, the owner who was working the register was unusually rude. We weren't expecting this, since the last time we dined we received exceptional service. Their credit card machine was not working properly, and instead of taking ownership of the problem and explaining it respectfully, he rudely said, "Nothing I can do about it, sorry!" and proceeded to throw our breakfast in the garbage right in front our faces. We really didn't appreciate the experience we had here and unfortunately will not be returning. Don't waste your time with owners who don't care about their customers- we go to Billy's in Moosup (less than 10 minutes away) for breakfast every week and everyone there is super nice, the food is superb (10x better than this place) and they care about their business! They would never treat their customers with the downright disrespect that Daybreaks did. What a disappointment. read more
