I was driving my kids to daycare but the road was closed so I took another route and in the corner of the eye I saw Daylight Donuts and Cafe so I decided to stop in because my girls and I love donuts. There is parking at the donut shop but you have to walk a few steps to get to the door because the shop is located in the corner of the building. The shop have such a cute design to it and was clean. Gives you a modern farmhouse vibe. They have a huge selection is donuts and one of the employee there saw my daughters and right away gave them each 2 donuts holes (I didn't even order yet). SO SWEET. I ordered a dozen donuts (classic donuts for 10.98) and got 1 free. The prices varies depending what donuts you get also. They also sell cookies and brownies but I have not tried it yet. Plus, they have a rewards program. Get 10 points (purchase for 4 dollars and more per point) and get a dozen donuts free. Such a great deal. We will certainly be back again. I purchased the trifecta donut collection. They had a wide variety of flavors and types of donuts and pastries. The "eats" tasted good and fresh. They had a rare topping - coconut which is a favorite of a family member. We will visit them again. read more

This place is wonderful and has a good selection of different donuts. Plus, they are all freshly made in house. I would personally recommend the cinnamon roll, maple bacon and the sour cream donuts! Great customer service as well. We will be coming back soon. read more

Excellent, light and fluffy donuts. I've had a jelly donut and a Buckeye Donut. Both were very nice and soft inside with just the right amount of crust outside, and a good amount of filling and toppings. They're like Dunkin Donuts style donuts, back when Dunkin Donuts was still Dunkin Donuts. The coffee is your typical midwestern strong coffee. If you like that, it's about the same as what's available around here. The sausage rolls for breakfast are okay. They're a little bit spicy, which is not specified on the menu. However spicy sausage rolls ARE listed so maybe they gave me the wrong ones. They're probably good when they're fresh. These were obviously microwaved and just kinda tasted like something from the frozen food aisle at the store. They weren't fully hot either, more like room temperature. It's kind of an inconvenient location and there's no drive through. I think the residents of The Lofts are probably what will drive business for this place. read more

This place has so much potential. Very cute and clean, modern diner that sells donuts and some basic breakfast items. The donuts are good. Dare i say better than Lil Donut Factory?? We came for a donut after yabos at 6pm and were greeted with a ho hum hello and a "what are you getting so I can get a box started". But the breakfast sandwiches that we've had in the past are very plain. The coffee is decent, donuts are good. Kids menu included uncrustables . Well I had high expectations since this is a large chain. Got here at 8 am on a Saturday and the donut selection was pretty bare. Got a maple iced donut and a fruity pebbles donut for my daughter. Also got an order of sausage gravy and a coffee I give the donuts a 5/10. The sausage gravy was pretty good 6/10. Coffee tasted like diner coffee 2/10. At this point I pretty much expect a place like this to have delicious coffee and that fell short The reason for my terrible rating is the service is awfully slow, they were out of orange juice and sausage rolls which were the two things my toddler daughter wanted. Just not sure how open for 2 hrs in a suburb on a weekend and there's no product to be sold. Not impressed read more

Donuts are absolutely delicious, BUT we went to the establishment today and ended up leaving without ordering because we witnessed one of the employees exit the building with gloves on to deliver a curbside order, she re-entered the building with the same gloves on (touching both sides of the door) then immediately proceeded to grab donuts with the same gloves on! How is this following COVID precautions? The same gloves that touched the door, the customers box, and both handles on the door leaving the establishment, then also touched fresh donuts that will now be consumed by an unknowing customer. I wasn't able to take a picture of my meal because I devoured it before I had the chance. I asked the guys to prepared my Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich special this time. Instead of the regular steak bun it comes with I requested a croissant. OMG LET ME TELL YOU!!! IT MELTED LIKE BUTTER IN MY MOUTH!! This was so good. I wish I thought of this combo sooner. The donuts are ridiculously expensive. As they are not very big (some are actually quite small) nor heavily topped or consisting of anything observably premium, there is no value to buying them. In all fairness, their basic donut flower is tasty. But all in all, I cannot recommend Daylight Donuts. read more

So I was very excited to try this place because of the sandwich + donut + coffee combo. Came in about 11am on a Saturday and already the staff seemed bombarded by all the customers. It was pretty packed I will say, but the staff was also moving with not an ounce of urgency. A man who had been there before we arrived was asking for his sandwiches which he said he ordered 20 mins ago. The woman at the register told him they never got the ticket and were going to start marking it right away. Sketchy. We ordered our sandwiches (3 egg sandwiches) and before charging us, the guy at the register went to the back to "check" they had all the ingredients, I guess, to make the sandwiches. He comes back and says they can make it. We go sit and wait for our food...about 15-20 minutes when the guy who took our order comes back and says they don't have enough eggs. They pretty much told us they could make it with no eggs. We said OK. We wait another 10 minutes and still no sandwiches. They're at the register taking orders with no regard to us. I'm giving it one star because the donut and coffee was good. If they could get a better staff I'm sure the place would thrive. I made a comment to the guy who took our orders if we could get a free donut in exchange for the missing egg and he made a sarcastic comment and walked away. We asked for our money back and left. They refunded the money right away which was good but it was still a huge waste of time. read more

Have tried this donut shop twice and while the donuts are just o.k., the staff is far from welcoming, respectful, helpful and kind. They consistently seem annoyed while working and "huff" when new customers come in the door while busy. Rolling their eyes not knowing who the next customer is, giving looks like they don't know what you're talking about when you ask a question makes this an unfriendly environment. I will start this review with the positive about this place and our first experience visiting this morning... The cafe itself is very nice... it's clean, cute, and inviting. It looks and feels like a place one would want to sit and enjoy with coffee and conversation. It also has some nice outdoor tables, convenient to sit with your pooch if needed (ours was in the car since we came from Prairie Oaks). The donuts we ordered were a maple iced cream stick (long John), it was very good and a vanilla iced blueberry donut... completely dry and stale. So, i will start with the girl behind the counter who lazily asked what we wanted, then literally zoned out, completely tuning me out... I actually had to wave my hand in front of her and say... hello?!?! She came back to the reality of her being at work, apologized, and then attempted to take our order. This person should not be working behind the counter or with the public. She was unenthusiastic, unknowledgeable, and had absolutely no interest in being there. We had to tell her 3 times where the donuts we ordered were... she just couldn't get it. We also ordered two breakfast sandwiches and two coffees. We were asked 3 more times what we were taking in our coffees. The sandwich ticket never went in... so while we were waiting for our (not ordered) breakfast biscuits, we watched while the lady making our coffees looked at our ticket, maybe six times. She would keep going over, looking, then going to the fridge to get the cream, then put it away, go look at the ticket, then get the cream... it was actually very painful to see her struggling with such a simple task. In this position you should be saving steps, using common sense, and not making customers wait more than 5-6 minutes for coffee. In the meantime, we witnessed another guest waiting for an iced coffee... it was sitting on the counter the entire time, 6-7 minutes, while not just two, but three staff members behind the counter asked whose and what it was several times... it was completely unbelievable. This customer actually said something to us... completely in disbelief. Back to our breakfast sandwiches... they finally realized they were never put in, after 15 minutes of waiting... to be fair, the sandwich prices were reimbursed to us... but as for the biscuits ~ we brought them home and used them for door stops and hockey pucks... not really, but they were barely edible. I'd say... "well it is a donut shop"... but it's not...they advertise as a cafe as well, so the other choices should be just as acceptable. As i said in the beginning of this review, this place could have potential. I understand it is a new establishment and still may be ironing out some wrinkles... but in the interim, these issues start with the management and should be addressed immediately, for any hope of survival. There clearly needs to be some more formal training, and / or hiring of employees who actually care and can interact with the public I truly hope Daylight Donuts and Cafe can pull it together and keep it afloat.... We will be visiting again in a month or so (if still open) to give it another chance... hoping for a more positive and pleasant experience... read more

My husband asked for cold brew, which was on the menu but they aren't even selling it yet, the girl said and I quote "No, we don't have it yet. We are still kind of playing around with it". My family and I went to Daylight Donuts for the first time this morning and we were not disappointed. My husband has said "best donuts in town" no less than 5 times since we got back in the car. The apple fritter is outstanding and the white long john is too. My toddler son devoured the blueberry donut. Highly recommend trying Daylight Donuts. The one lady behind the counter could have been friendlier but all of the other staff was great. One sweet lady even gave my son a donut hole to eat while we were waiting. read more

Went here for breakfast and was very disappointed. The donuts were not very good and they were dry. We also ordered two breakfast sandwiches with "bacon". When our food arrived it had turkey bacon on it. It is not listed in the menu as turkey bacon. Horrible customer service when I asked about the turkey bacon. The owner didn't even offer to make it right. I would highly recommend staying away. I will not go back. read more

I live in the connected apartments and was very excited about daylight opening, but it has been nothing but a huge disappointment ever since. I have been there at least six times and had a bad experience every single time. Today I called ahead to avoid some of the confusion from the inexperienced staff as I have had some excruciating waits in the past. They told me 20 minutes because they were quote slammed.
