Honest rating 3.5/5. Not a bad place for a sandwich when the mood strikes. It's not much more than a sandwich spot, but they do have a full bar (which seemed a little strange, but ok). It was super busy on a Saturday and the kitchen was pretty slow. Ended up asking for it to go and taking it home because it was getting really crowded and its giant shared picnic table seating. No huge complaints about my wrap (sausage breakfast wrap - great but too much cream cheese but the sausage was super good). The bagel sandwich my Mr got was good, but he thought it was weird that it wasn't toasted. Solid sandwich shop in the area! I found parallel parking just around the corner. Didn't feel like parking in the garage. It wasn't busy. A few people dining in, but it was past the lunch rush. It's a small place. A few large picnic style tables and some seating by the open windows and order counter. I ordered the Roger Roger and two chocolate chip cookies. They didn't have the cookies sitting by the register but they had just made a fresh batch. Sandwiches are made to order of course. The Roger Roger had: capicola, pepperoni, smoked cheddar, lettuce, tomato, spicy mustard, giardiniera. It wasn't heavy (I ate half) and the bread wasn't that dense. In fact, the bread kinda sold me on the sandwich. It tasted fresh...much better than what you get at any of the usual chains. And the cookies were absolute perfection! Crunchy on the outside but soft inside. Wow! And they're kinda large. I ate half of one and saved the rest. I don't eat sandwiches often but this has got to be one of my favorites in the city. Okay, it's been a rough start. Covid, workers, it's been hard to get in here. Having finally, successfully, had lunch here (during the rush and after, with company and solo) - let's talk about sandwiches. I try to not order the same sandwich twice - they have variety here, and it's not your basic ham and cheese, but it's not so esoteric where you can't read the ingredients. It's simple elevations to the flavor. I've never tried to remove ingredients or swap anything out, but my date has asked for "no X" and they've easily accommodated. Staff wise - they run lean and mean. I've only seen one person out front, doing cashier, handing out orders, stocking chips, slinging drinks. A guy in the back making the sandwiches. They're fairly fast. Not fast-food fast, but "go wash your hands first" fast, where you can get situated before your sandwich is ready. And - this is a sandwich place. This isn't a diner. It's not upscale. They do sandwiches, and they do them *well.* Long tables, window seating, it can get a little cramped in here, but buddy up and enjoy your meal, it'll be worth it. read more

I'm really on the fence about my trip to Frank and Carl's for lunch today. It's a fun, busy place, with good bagels and creative sandwiches, but, based on today, might not be a repeat to visit. Pros: The staff were really friendly and worked a super busy line in an efficient and polite manner! Sandwiches are a good size, and the ingredients are very fresh. A little off: There aren't a lot of on menu meatless or pork free options. There is a veggie bagel and a veggie sub, chips, and potato salad, but just about everything else, you have to modify. Normally, I would have scouted the menu in advance, but we made a game day decision to grab lunch and walked in, so I was a bit disappointed. This one is hard, but, while I was there, for nearly the whole time (~ an hour), the place smelled really strongly of cigarette smoke. Not like it was wafting in from outside, but like, smoking in the bathroom strong. I didn't see anyone smoking, but it was coming from somewhere and it was not pleasant. When it's busy, seating is a bit limited. Yes, I deployed a child as a seat saver. No, I am not ashamed. Parking is standard Bridge Park - you might not get a street spot, but there are plenty of garages, and, as of right now, it's still free to park. read more

I stopped in for Lunch and I had a pretty good sub. I order the "Two Vests and a Flannel" which was: Served Hot pastrami + smoked cheddar - lettuce, tomato, spicy mustard, pickle slices and chive cream cheese. I loved the hot pastrami contrasted with the cold veggies, it was exactly what I was seeking. The chive cream cheese was interesting as a twist but I might substitute mayo instead but I would certainly try this sandwich again or comeback to try something else. Casual atmosphere and pretty small place overall and of course Bridgepark is quite nice overall. It's four stars instead of five because the meat was so limited. Had my vehicle serviced at Acura of Columbus and decided to walk around Bridge park for a place to have lunch at. After making a few rounds I finally decided to stop in at Frank & Carls. After viewing the menu for a bit I couldn't decide which sandwich I wanted even after i went online to get some suggestions. I asked for a recommendation and the gentleman suggested the Ma Fratella, but after a few more minutes of looking over the menu I decided for the HOF which is their roast beef, provolone, lettuce, tomato, roasted garlic-horseradish mayo. Sandwiches are a la carte so everything is additional. Not complaining just advising based on my observation. Sandwich prices ranged from $7-12. which is very good for that location. It's Bridge Park so I was expecting a toll fee or something add to my final bill. J/k don't dM mean messages Im not being fr!! I noticed when my sandwhich came out it read Jeff on it. The Jeff had Roast beef, white cheddar, spring mix, bacon-onion-fig jam, tomato and roasted garlic balsamic vinaigrette, dijon mustard. Little concerned here cuz i saw Fig jam and me no likey sweet on anything that's a sandwhich.. I didn't want to haggle or make an issue so I went ahead and ate it like the food lover I am. Surprisingly the sandwhich was good. Only because I'm not fan of anything sweet in my sandwiches and again this is just my " personal " preference. However, If you do like the sweet then this sandwich is a good choice. Oh I also ordered the Ma Fra pasta salad. It was good combination of pasta and some italian meats and the dressing was flavorful. Again, a little sweet for my taste but it was still good. Frank and Carls is a good place to come to for something easy and fun. They have three long community tables if you wanted to dine in and stools to sit by the window if you wanted to people watch. I had the Havana Daydreamin sandwich which is a served hot with smoked pulled pork, ham, Swiss cheese, lettuce, house pickles and honey mustard. This is one of the best subs I have had in a long time. With so many sandwich shoppes out there, this place definitely stands out for its great taste, unique flavors and quality sandwiches. A local sandwich joint that serves breakfast and shots of bourbon? Count me in! And for your information: You can get said bourbon (and beer, and other adult drinks) in the morning to go with your breakfast sandwich! Ask me how I know this. We loved Frank & Carl's so much during our visit to Dublin that we ate there twice in one weekend. I got a breakfast sandwich the first time: the Bacon, Egg, Cheese & Chorizo Cream Cheese bagel sandwich. This is one of the best combinations of ingredients to put between a bagel. They make the chorizo cream cheese in house, and it just zhuzhes up everything and takes it to the next level. The next time I visited (which was the next day), I got the Roger Roger, which is a hot sandwich with capicola, pepperoni, smoked cheddar, lettuce, tomato, hot mustard and giardiniera. I thought it was the best hot sandwich I had ever tasted until I tasted the second sandwich I ordered, which has an embarrassing-to-say-out-loud name but is delicious: the 2 Flannels and a Vest, which is pastrami and smoked cheddar, lettuce, tomato, spicy mustard, chive cream cheese and pickles. I don't even like pickles, and now I like pickles in my sandwich because of this sandwich! Eating this sandwich was truly an enjoyable experience. You can get all of their sandwiches on either a bagel or a roll. Some of the sandwiches are cold and some come hot. Their breakfast menu isn't on their website, but they have one (see my photo of their breakfast menu). I think what makes the sandwiches so good here is that they are assembled so carefully. You can tell that they really take the time to place the ingredients just so. So when you take a bite, you taste everything all together. And when you unwrap your sandwich, everything's not falling out and sopping wet -- it's nice and full but neat and proportional. Like I mentioned, they do sell bourbon here and other liquor, as well as draft beer and beer in cans. What they do not sell is coffee, though! read more

Looking for something different for dinner brought us to Frank & Carl's, tucked away in the Bridge Park area of Dublin, across the street from Pins. The idea of a steamed bagel sandwich brought back memories of Bagel and Deli in Oxford, Ohio. Alas, Frank & Carl couldn't live up to it. It wasn't bad at all, it just wasn't great. There was nothing really that stood out from other sandwich places. Will I come back? Sure, if I'm walking by. But will I seek it out, looking for a sandwich? Probably not. read more

My wife and I ended up here for lunch while on a recent trip to Dublin. We decided we'd stop here even though it was "just a sandwich." Much to our surprise, this wasn't just a sandwich. It was one of the best sandwiches we've ever had! Thanks to the suggestion from the person at the register, we chose the Ma Fratelli and it was amazing! From the first bite, we were glad we made the decision to stop here. It got even better when the owner brought us an order of the chips and cheese to try. Both the pimento cheese dip and the bagel chips were excellent. Everything was so good we decided to stop there again on Sunday before leaving town to try a different sandwich and get another order of chips and cheese. Unfortunately, they weren't open so we had to settle for something else that wasn't nearly as delicious. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Dublin! read more

I went to Frank and Carl's this week. I thought it would be great subs and bagels but for the price it didn't match up to other places I've been to with similar food and cheaper. I got the Roger, Roger and it was okay but nothing worth going again to try. Not sure if I just didn't like the spicy mustard but just didn't do the job for me. My husband got the Havana and said it was okay as well. He had better comparable subs elsewhere he said. Maybe I need to try their breakfast bagels before I talk any further because I heard those are very good. I will be back to see how the breakfast bagels compare. read more

I get it. Not a bagel place, but it was the day of a wedding and we were all exhausted and had another exhausting day ahead of us... I ran in for something to grab for my family to eat before a marathon day (we stayed in a hotel nearby, so it was a quick walk). The bagels were definitely day or even 2 day-old and rock hard. And I'm saying this about the toasted bagel and the untoasted one i ordered. Again, yes, not a bagel place, but come on, bagels hard as a rock?? And the bacon is microwave bacon, you know, fake curly bits and really thin and flimsy? And sausage, also microwave sausage, thin and completely stuck to anything it was sandwiched between. Egg? I've been wanting to try this, and I had a little time plus it was on my way today. They have an interesting menu with loads of mouthwatering sandwiches. I got the Italian sub, which has some hip name. Very good version: good bread, good meat, good toppings. Held together well. Good value for the money, too. Tasted excellent. Then I got the "two flannels and a vest" bagel to take to work for lunch. I should've gotten a cold sandwich for that. I ate a bit of it right away; it was sloppy and tasty and great. But definitely messier than the sub and should be eaten immediately. The crispy everything bagel slices are excellent as a side, with pimento cheese spread. I had half of them and all the sub when I picked the food up, and I was stuffed and enjoying the flavors. I had a few bites of the bagel to test it then, and ended up overstuffed. Had the rest of the food for lunch at work later, and it held up well and was very enjoyable. Ordering online was convenient. In car pick up. Reasonable prices for the quality and quality. Stopped in for lunch and was very impressed! One of my co-workers and I decided to stop in and had such a great experience we know we will be back! We both ended up getting the same thing and we were both very happy. We had the Ma Fratelli sandwich along with the wild mushroom soup. I am kind of a snob when it comes to soup and the wild mushroom soup might be the best soup I've had all year. It is simply that good. The sandwich was excellent too! While we were there the staff stopped over several times asking how we liked our food and if they could do anything for us. The were never intrusive just plain, old fashioned courteous and nice. The chef (Shannon) stopped over too and chatted with us. She offered to bring me a sample of their other soup of the day. It was a roasted red pepper bisque and it was phenomenal! The next time I am in I might just order 2 soups!! On top of wonderful food and even better service they were constantly cleaning. I think this might be the cleanest restaurant in central Ohio.
