There's a great selection of donuts, that's for sure. However, the donuts are not good (my opinion). If you go to Safeway or Roth's early in the morning and get their donuts, they are much, much, much better if you ask me. Isn't that sad though, that the grocery store donut are better than the actual donut store's donuts? I'm not sure what it is, but I think they need to change their recipe. Are the donuts edible? I have been here before ( a few times ) and the donuts were great. Not so much tonight...The raspberry/creme filled were not filled very much. I'm so disappointed. Thought this was going to be my new donut spot. Great selection and prices. But I saw a whole bunch of donuts in those long boxes designed for going under the bed. Uh oh. Those arent food safe! I got a dozen anyway, lured in by the low prices and big selection. I wish I hadn't. The service was nice but she didnt change her gloves after she answered the phone. Just handles my donuts. Uh oh. Dont think she changes gloves after she took my payment for the next guy. Another uh oh. Opened box when I got home and donts are all squished. They dont look good. The taste of the apple fritter is ok but there are no apples in it. The cream cheese filled powdered tastes like it has frosting filling. Thats not right. In from out of town and just went in for a late night sweet tooth. We came in and looked around for a moment before a man came out to help us. I immediately asked him what his favorite donut was, they have a very large selection. He pointed to the tiger tails, boston cream and the long john. He was very friendly, very nice and super helpful. We picked a bunch of different donuts ranging from French crullier to smiley face and we enjoyed them all. We especially enjoyed the warm fresh donut holes he brought out to let us try. The atmosphere is so happy, the bakers were in the back singing and working to a beat, I thought that only happened in movies!!! We already made plans to come back in the morning before we head back to California. I sure wish we had a place like this where we are at. This is THE go to place of Salem for frozen yogurt! It's open 24 hours and my friend and I stopped in after hitting the town. They have a whole frozen yogurt bar that you serve yourself. You can pick from about 6 to 8 different frozen yogurt flavors. I was boring and got some classic vanilla. Then they have this pretty elaborate toppings bar, with everything from nuts, cereal, candies, crushed up candy bars, syrups, etc etc etc. With that, I went with some peanut butter M&Ms, crushed up heath bars and Baby Ruth chunks. Once you have created your master piece of a dessert, the clerk will weight it to determine the price. Not sure what the price per unit was, but mine ended up being about $3.00. First off, I LOVE this place. EVERY time I am in the area, I stop in and grab a fresh donut. I usually get one donut that I devour immediately. ALWAYS fresh tasting and the selection can't be beat! The apple fritters have apples in them, no joke! Like all places used to make but sadly many put a little swab of apple puree and call it a day :( So why 3 stars? My visit yesterday failed my goal. I ordered two colored happy face donuts for my kids and a maple something with a heart on it for hubby. All were ordered on appearance, not necessarily taste preference. The girl put the donuts in the bag, all 3 across the bottom, back to front, with no wax paper or anything between. What I ended up with was 3 donuts that has smeared appearances that no longer resembled the heart or smiley faces. To boot, none of the three are particularly fond of filling, so with no cute symbols on the top, they all wondered why i didn't get donuts they like :( I won't stop going there are anything like that (why deprive myself of yummy donuts?) But to be sure, i will supervise the placement of my donuts next time One last note, the lady in front of me purchased a donut and a coffee and paid with a debit card. The girl told her that she had to charge her something like 25 cents since the charge was under $5. She said this and swiped her card simultaneously. I was only spending $3 so was offering to just buy her donuts and then neither of us would have the charge. BUT the card had been swiped before the woman accepted the charge. that also left no option for me to buy her donuts. And just from a business point of view, I personally added 2 donuts and a donut hole to my order to not pay the fee. Come here if you want a sad donut. I decided to give this business another shot, despite the craigslist rant about how a disabled customer was treated. I am a pro business person and despite the lame remarks by the owners to the public from the Statesman Journal, I still gave this business the benefit of the doubt, particularly when the accuser remains anonymous and there is always two sides to every story. My lesson is learned, I should have heeded the bad reviews and realize that people who treat disabled people like shit pretty much treat everyone that way. I should have taken the time to go to Roth's or King Donut. When I arrived on 7/29/15, the parking lot was full and there was a line and a number of customers in the shop. To me, that is a good sign. It shows that maybe this business has merit since others apparently patronize the business. The rest of it was bad. The same tired looking employee is behind the counter, she's getting all the orders wrong from the three guys in front of me. In the past she has been pretty rude, not friendly, and lacks basic customer service skills, but I kind of overlooked that because she's just selling donuts and maybe she had a bad customer. Apparently she is like that everyday. She is like that every time I come in, I just never realized it was a constant issue. She looks like she needs a vacation. Owners of this business, send her on a paid vacation or fire her. You don't have to pay her $15.00 an hour with benefits, but treat her right. She looks tired and she looks like she hates her job. To the lady working behind the counter: Come on lady, you are selling donuts to people who WANT donuts. It's not a necessity. We are there because we want to be there. Put a little cheer into it, it makes the donuts taste better. I ordered an apple fritter and a long john. When I got to the car, I realize she gave me a maple bar instead of the long john. BTW, the apple fritter was stale. Thanks for selling a pregnant lady a stale apple fritter and the wrong product. You need to up your quality control. Overall, this was a sad donut experience. I didn't get one of the donuts I wanted and I got a stale apple fritter from a sad employee, who seems to get all the orders wrong, working in a dirty donut shop. To the owners of this establishment: step up their game or you won't be in business much longer. BTW, "stepping up your game" doesn't mean offer a bacon maple bar and rip off Voodoo Donuts, because seriously, even the picture of your bacon maple bar looks sad. :( Treat your employee well, train her in customer service, clean the place up, get rid of the stale donuts and don't sell them to anyone, pregnant or not pregnant. Oh and to those reading this review, you can get a better cheaper happier donut at Winco, Roth's IGA or King Donut. Well, it isn't the best coffee in town. But it is better than whatever roast i received from the French Press recently. Actually poured that one out it was so bad. The donuts are good. Exactly what you're looking for in a donut. The plain glazed are my favorite. They have lots to choose from. Nothing gluten free if you wanted to get something for that one person in your office so they don't feel left out. But other than that, rock solid. This morning I got as far as the parking lot before deciding not to go in. As I looked in the window I observed two workers, less than 2 feet apart and not wearing masks. Their were also numerous customers who are also not wearing masks. The Oregon health Authority rules clearly state that all employees serving food should be wearing a mask. It doesn't matter how good the donuts are if it's not safe to eat there. I decided to go to Bearscat donuts and was shocked to find the same situation. I'm disappointed that there's not more of an effort by businesses and citizens to reduce the transmission of this terrible disease. read more

Best donut shop in town! Make sure to come in after 10pm and before 6am; when Gurjeet works the front counter and Amigo bakes the donuts. These two are the hardest workers in the country. The wonderful service has been bringing me back nearly everyday for the last three years. Every good memory of my life has a tie into this donut shop. This place is absolutely awful. The service I had was terrible, the girl working their kept getting confused and was giving me attitude. The wife's owner was there and kept going around in the back and her kids were screaming. I found a hair in my donut and told them and they didn't do anything about it. I wouldn't come here again. This used to be the last dunkin donuts on the west coast until the owners got tired of paying the franchise fees. The recipes are the same, the internal set up is the same, and they are still using some of the old stuff from when it was a DD. Coffee is watered down and doesn't taste fresh. Donuts are often stale. Staff is friendly but over charge for what you get. I love dunkin and am mad they took the last real donut shop away from us bcs they are cheap! read more

Okay, so you can get donuts just about anywhere, but here is why day night gets 5 stars. 24 hours, I live with 2 mid 20's guys that work odd hours, and I myself work 2 jobs with varying schedules, if I can get a donut that isn't stale from sitting in Walmart all day at 3am I am thrilled. Fast, and friendly staff, with a large variety of donuts to choose from it helps to have friendly staff for recommendations. My favorite thing though is how kid friendly they have been. I am a nanny, and when I am in need of quick, cheap coffee, that still tastes good, and a small treat for the kids I love going here. A few months back I ordered a smoothie for my kiddos to share, and the girl behind the counter gave us two cups and each kid free donut holes. Many different varieties to choose from both regular sized doughnuts and on the doughnut hole selection which is a nice change. If you dont buy a dozen they put all your donuts in a paper bag. The cram them in your frosting goes everywhere. The custmor services isnt the best but they are still the only indy place to get donuts. I'll keep going but I know what to expect. read more
