Absolutely amazing food, complemented by equally great service, and a wonderful ambiance…read more We started with sourdough bread, and could have easily filled up on it. Yes, it was THAT good. I had the spaghetti aglio olio, with shrimp added. Perfectly cooked pasta, with just the right amount of heat in the oil. Shrimp were perfect cooked as well. Portion size was JUST RIGHT. She had the Artic Char. Wow. The grilled veggies were divine, and the mashed potatoes that the fillet was sitting on had the perfect melt in your mouth to texture. A great plate of food! The online reservation system made it too easy to get a table at our preferred time. If I could award 6 stars, I would in a heartbeat!

Everything was excellent, from the elevated service, to the decor, to the music, to the cozy and elegant ambiance....and the food blew us all away! You don't always expect to be full when you leave a nicer restaurant, but Riva was an exception- the portions were generous. The sourdough was delectable, the caprese ingredients were fresh and colorful, and my pasta was hearty and full of vegetables. The chicken breast I ordered to go with my pasta was moist, but bland- perhaps blackening it or simply adding more seasoning would help. My husband's pizza was sooo garlicky (in the best way possible!), and the crust was an ideal texture and chewiness. My mother in law ordered the fish of the day, which was salmon with a mint cauliflower puree and asparagus- it was delectable! My father in law ordered the spaghetti aglio e olio and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were so satisfied when we left, but wish we had left some room to sample their desserts. If/when we return to the area, we will most certainly be visiting Riva again!

The ambiance and vibe of this small town restaurant is so cool! The food was tasty as well. I got…read morethe pork poutine and my wife got the chicken sandwich (on a gluten free bun). Both meals were great and the beer selection was extensive and good as well.

This was an easy 5-stars for me. I enjoyed every aspect of my meal at Redneck Bistro. Located in…read moreCalabogie, Ontario; it's a short jaunt from the lake itself. It was a beautiful, warm day so we decided to dine outdoors on their patio. Early on in the meal, it began to get brighter with the sun beating down on us, so our waitress was kind enough to set up a large umbrella to shield us from the intense sunshine. By the way, we had the best waitress ever here- I believe her name was Carrie. OMG- she was so funny and quickwitted. She did an amazing job waiting on our large party of 7. The menu had many options and pretty much had something for everyone. There were salads, burgers and so many other options. I chose the Mexi Bowl. Okay, this was next-level good! Every component of the bowl was spot on. Everything harmonized so well together. It was Mexican rice, black beans, diced tomatoes, grilled peppers and onions. I opted for the pulled pork and it was finished off with chipotle mayo and sour cream. It was sooo delicious! These were the best grilled onions and peppers. They were delicately diced and the peppers and purple onions were perfectly caramelized. You could not have asked for a more perfect Mexi Bowl. Being from Texas, I was impressed with the fresh ingredients and how it totally gave me Mexican-vibes. Great job! Throughout lunch service all the outdoor table filled up on a Monday, so that totally tell you how busy this place can get- but not surprising. The food here was great and to forgot to mention how delicious my citrus beverage was (I think it was lemonade, pineapple and soda water). Overall, Redneck Bistro was a true delight. Every aspect of my visit exceeded my expectations. Definitely make your way here if you're in the Greater Madawaska area for an excellent meal and experience!

Brunch review. I may have came with high expectations because so many people had mentioned this…read moreplace, and it is in such a beautiful location, but we left pretty disappointed. First off, their website is odd. Not much information, quite confusing, sometimes it won't even load (on mobile device), so if you're trying to make a reservation, call them directly. Location, beautiful, along the river, great outdoor seating. I'm sure dinner and sunset is stunning. Good, it was okay. We ordered kids breakfast, huevos rancheros skillet thing, chicken and waffles, biscuit and gravy, and the whisky flight. The huevos ranchero was good, nothing to rave over but good. The chicken and waffles didn't come with syrup at first, I'm sure it was a mistake. The biscuit and gravy... looked amazing, but the biscuits were hard. Like rock hard, and even after sitting in the gravy, no moisture would come back. Haha Service... the lady was so sweet, but she kept forgetting us, she would place hot things right in front of the baby where she would easily grab it. She had a hard time splitting the bill. Ultimately we had to ask another waitress for water refill and splitting our bill. Maybe we will go back... but not in a rush.

Last summer (2024) we went up to find they were not serving meals. Their chef left, they couldn't get servers... I'd check in before you go or ask at their place in Clayton. I was under the impression it's drinks only.
