SCAMMED AND SHOULD BE CHARGED WITH FRAUD AND ELDER ABUSE! Carlos at Daytona had my (elderly) father's Jeep for nearly a month and after he paid them a few thousand dollars, we got the Jeep back and discovered that they literally didn't do anything to rebuild the transmission because the missing bolts and the transmission were still missing in the exact same places and they didn't even bother dropping the tranny but they charged him anyway. Something scary about a transmission shop that believes in "lifetime" transmission fluid...

I brought my truck to them on August of 2018 they have it back on November and the transmission was bad so I had to take it back and now it's 2019 and they haven't gaven me my truck I stopped by the shop and my truck was outside with no transmission and just parked there now I am going to file a law suit against them very bad service would not recommend ______________________________________________________ UPDATE It's now April 30th of 2019 and they still haven't gaven my truck back. First off. I'm a certified Auto Appraiser and I fight insurance companies and advocate for consumers daily. I was referred to Daytona Transmission in Aloha by my son, who had his tranmission rebuilt there for his F-150. They did an awesome job and when my 2009 Jeep Wrangler's transmission went out, they were my first consideration. I'll start off rating my experience with Daytona Transmission. EXCELLENT!!!! Carlos worked with me to get my Jeep done as quickly as possible. My son has had zero problems with his truck since they rebuilt the tranny. I've been down to their shop many times now and have heard nothing but praises from other customers I've spoken with. I highly recommend Daytona Transmission and if you're a little worried about the 2 negative reviews, go down there yourself and talk to some of their other customers. Carlos is very honest and will tell you exactly what he thinks you need to fix your vehicle. But remember, he's not a psychic. He can't see inside the transmission until it's opened up. So, a job that he may initially think is going to take a few days, may actually take many. Again, I'm an Oregon Certified auto appraiser, and I always do my due diligence. I look at reviews, I talk to other shops, I do everything I need to do to make sure I'm using an honest and reliable shop. As you can tell, I'm a real reviewer also. I have 50+ friends who are also on Yelp! Most people who write positive reviews on Yelp! do so for food. If you look through the different businesses, you'll find that restaurants always receive the most positive reviews, other businesses less. A business can't satisfy everyone, and some are going to have the perception they had a bad experience even if they actually didn't. People tend to review black or white with no gray area when they feel slighted. Such as Andrea's and Anthony's reviews below. She left 1 Star. So did Anthony. 1 Star. Not a 2, 3, or 4, but both left one star reviews. Why? because they're angry in most situations. The ability to leave a one star review isn't really fair to a small business unless the company is receiving a lot of reviews. In order to bring Daytona Transmission's status up to 5 stars, it's going to take at least 25 or 30 five star reviews. That's not realistic. So they lose business unless they take the time to try to get customers to post a review on Yelp. It's not like it's a national chain who has a marketing company working customers to leave positive reviews. Myself, I'd rather use a local shop and have them working on my transmission instead of babysitting someone who feels like they have a vendetta against them. As for the negative reviews, let's look at them. Andrea, zero friends, two bad reviews toward businesses where she felt she was ripped off, whether she was or not. And, two 5 star reviews for a restaurant and a vape shop. You have to remember, transmissions are mechanical and you can't see what's truly going on until you open them up. So going from 4 days to 18 days isn't that much of a stretch. As to the empty tank. It was nearly 3 weeks later. She just couldn't be mistaken about how much gas she had, could she? Then we have Anthony, I'm guessing there's more to the story here. 4 months sitting and they haven't fixed it? Could it be that he hasn't paid them? Or, maybe there's another reason? He does have 3 friends on Yelp, so he's probably a real person, but has only left this one review. Why? because he's probably not a normal reviewer, he seems more of a revenge reviewer in my opinion. So, how much weight should his review really count toward a business? I would highly recommend Daytona Transmission to my friends, clients and family. read more

After doing research and getting estimates, I took my 2000 S10 to Daytona. I can't say enough good things about Roger and Carlos. They saved me a lot of money and my truck shifts like new. They got it done for the price they quoted, and even though it took a few hours into the night, they didn't just say, "Sorry, come back tomorrow", they stayed late and got it done. This is the best place I've ever been, I have a 2007 mini cooper that I bought and the transmission wasn't working good. I took my car to Daytona transmission and the people over there were really helpful, they really helped me a lot, explaining me what happened to the car, and what they will do step by step. They were giving me all the updates that were needed, had my car on time. Now I came back to do the transmission service as their warranty says everything is good and running. I had read that Daytona Transmission only repaired what was necessary. I decided to give them a try. I gave them a call on a thursday night and they got me in at their Aloha location first thing the next morning. Wow. I drove from north Portland to Aloha, no problem since they where able to get me in so soon. I brought my 1996 328 BMW to these guys because after I replaced the AT fluid and filter at home I started having transmission problems. (These cars require that they be lifted off the ground and in gear when adding AT fluid) After actually listening to me, they put my car on a lift to inspect my transmission and instead of selling me a service or giving me a transmission repair quote, they topped off my AT fluid at no charge. That is right, no charge. That was 2000 miles ago and my car has been running great since. I am impressed with these guys, they have gained my trust not to sell me something that I do not need. We took our Acura in for a new transmission and received a quote, the price doubled within days. He told us it would be done in 4 days and they had our car for 18 days. We were told that we would get call backs and never would receive a call back. Car had a half tank of gas when we dropped it off and was empty. I have stopped by today to help with my best friend & her car. She had her engine light on for a week we didn't know the problem, so we came here for the free check-up. The timing was perfect it took less than 5 minutes to figure out the problem. He fixed our starter (we had problems starting it sometimes) with no charge & it also turned the engine light off! We left a good tip for these guys. They KNOW what is wrong/right with your car. Carlos and his father-in-law are a team of two TRUE auto mechanics. They did a very involved transmission rebuild on my 1998 Honda Accord EX. The car now runs like the day I drove it off the lot in 1997. They are experienced in rebuilding transmissions of nearly all vehicles out there. Their price was less than other companies, most likely because they know what they are doing and will not run into problems.
