I ordered this pizza, while I was visiting Washington DC. The reviews were great, so I went ahead and ordered the pizza. The order went through Grubhub and it stated around 45 minutes, to have the pizza. When the time came for the order, I went to the hotel lobby and waited. After about waiting for about 20 minutes, over the expected delivery time. I called Grubhub and the customer service person apologized and told me the order wasn't yet picked up and if I still wanted the order. I told her, I still wanted the order, but I hoped that it wasn't going to be cold. I waited another 15 minutes and someone called me, to come out and pick up the pizza. The delivery guy apologized and gave me the pizza. I got to my room and the pizza was very cold. This was a really bad experience and the restaurant could have called and apologized. I cannot get over how delicious the crust is on this thing. I mean don't get me wrong the whole pizza is delicious but the crust is just cooked perfect and has great Italian flavor to it. Love the whole in the wall tiny vibe to it. Staff greeted me right when I walked in. Found the station right away. Ordering is like "Which Which" (If you've ever had it) but basically you get a sheet of paper, check off everything you want on your pizza and a couple minutes later you get a rectangle of deliciousness. Every once in a while I get a craving for pizza and so the search for gluten free (me) and regular (partner) begins! Solid 3.5 stars for DoorDash order (partner would say 4.5). I had the veggie pizza, GF, with pepperoni added. It was good - and fresh! - but nothing special. I prefer a thicker crust and more distinct flavor profile, esp. at that price point! I can't say enough about Rae. We had stopped to buy a bottle of red wine to enjoy with our pizza back at our hotel. On the way to DC Pizza, we realized our pizza would be cold by the time we got back with it, so we called to ask if we could open it at DC Pizza and drink it there at their tables. She said yes. Only problem was we didn't have our wine opener with us. We stopped at two stores on the way to no avail. But Rae decided to run (yes, run) across the street and borrowed one from the hotel. I gave four stars instead of five because I believe they should have a few more choices when it comes to their options such as a garlic sauce, and a few more proteins. I believe that this will take it up a notch and is a small addition. I love that they recycle their boxes, the dough is knead here and the prices are pretty decent for what you're getting. My partner and I shared a pizza, which was perfect. I also wish that they had a few more drink options but that's not huge since there is a Wawa next door. Overall, great pizza.
