best food and a welcoming atmosphere! very friendly employees really made us feel special!

I was having a hard times finding this restaurant and I had a DoorDash order so I HAD TO FIND IT. I called and they walked me through it until I arrived. The food smelled delish. I got a iced tea to go and it was good. This is one of those places that based upon smells I need to return to. Apparently the food is good because the order was for Baton Rouge from it here so there food must be good, The people were super nice. The best of great southern folks. Friendly. read more

Came for my wife birthday since she was leaving for her girls trip. We wanted something quick and not to busy. So we dine here and let me say the food was delicious. The birthday girl had red fish Louis top with lump crab meat. I had the glazed salmon with roasted potatoes and a green salad. The food was delicious and the services was prompt. I was so disappointed in my meal. No taste at all. I got a fish plate that was quite pricey it was so bad I wanted to bring it back. 2/10

It doesn't even deserve a 1 star. Ok, so the chicken was served to us completely raw. It was still frozen. This was a few mths ago but I decided to give this place another chance today bc I really like their salads. Well, I had a roach in my salad today. I went in and spoke with the owner and showed him the roach. When I showed him the roach, he stated "we have pest control come spray". Then, I had to ask for my money back. This is disgusting. I felt so bad writing this review bc the workers are so nice but this is a BIG DEAL. read more

Within this Industrial area of Greater Baton Rouge, Lunch places are a little hard to find. Heck, there isn't even a "Roach Coach" that stops the Plant I'm working at this week. But down the road a spell is DC's Grill. DC's Grill would make the "My Parents Would Like This Place" List, as it's unpretentious, comfortable, and offers hearty selections of good food at popular prices. There's also a nice bar, but when you're at work mid-week, that's a no-no. In fact, one of my collegues and I are old enough to remember department managers with liquor cabinets and Friday afternoon liquid lunches. Things have changed for the better that way. The place was busy when we walked in yesterday, but the order line went quicky, and the food was at our table soon enough. After my big dinners, I went lighter with soup (gumbo) and nice salad. Both were just right. And it was a great chance to catch up on a bunch of mutual work stuff and enjoy each other's company. read more

The food here is delicious! You can taste the freshness and overall home cooked taste. I enjoy the daily plate lunch special. it's always more than enough and extremely affordable. The customer service has been SPOT ON every time I visit and the music is always a whole vibe. I love supporting small businesses and this place is definitely a hidden gem. I've passed this place for years and never had a desire to visit. My husband ended up going with a coworker and was surprised at how good his red fish meal was. He decided to order again today and shared his meal with me. Let me just say, the Redfish Louise was AWESOME!!!! The fish was seasoned and grilled to perfection! It was topped with a crawfish cream sauce that had a wonderful taste as well. It came with a salad and roasted potatoes. The meal was $18 but worth it! Living in Addis, I get tired of the same ole same ole! You now have a new customer DC Grill! read more

We really liked going to DC's when we first moved to the Westside. Then it seemed like their prices jumped way up, and we quit going. The food was always good, but a $70+ meal for a family of four isn't always in the eating-out budget. During the COVID quarantine, we tried to support local restaurants, and we were glad to go back to dining in as places opened up. But we got tired of everything, and thought we'd give DC's another go. The prices are better, and the food is tasty as always. The shrimp po-boy gives you loads of shrimp, their burgers are good (get the sweet potato fries!), and the chicken tender platter is big enough to fill up a hungry teenager. The staff is always courteous and helpful, too. It's nice to have DC's back in our dining-out rotation! read more

The food and service was spot on! We had the steak and grilled shrimp . It was grilled correctly and full of flavor! My daughter had the shrimp poboy and she said it was super delicious! The service was amazing! The have drink specials that we didn't do but looked good! Great atmosphere! When we come back to visit LSU, we will definitely stop by and eat here again! The food here is decent, especially if you live on the west side and don't feel like crossing the bridge to go to any of the Baton Rouge eateries. They have basic menu items: burgers, po-boys, lunch specials, Louisiana favorites, etc. It's a casual environment with ample seating and good customer service. Now that traffic has gotten so heavy on the west side, consider grabbing dinner here instead of sitting in traffic for hours. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall that has a donut shop, a thrift shop, a hair salon, etc. Check 'em out before you head out on the bridge or if you live on the west side, grab lunch or dinner! read more

Went for lunch today---first time---very clean, staff very friendly, great menu, and efficient for the lunch goer who has a time limit. Has multiple daily specials and one today was grilled redfish filet topped with louisiana crawfish tails which comes with a vegetable or starch side and a small salad. Another special today was blackened red fish. I ordered the grill redfish which was very good. I am impressed and I will be back to try the fried entrees/sandwiches and burgers---unless the daily special catches my eye again. read more

Dined there last Friday with my husband! He really enjoyed the Shrimp Po-Boy! The Shrimp were fried just right and the bun was good...not quite New Orleans French bread, but still good! I had a Mexican inspired salad that was delicious and pretty healthy! The restaurant is clean, family friendly with a wall separating the main dining area from the bar. There are TV's mounted so that no one misses any important games. Very friendly staff...the restaurant is located on the end of a strip mall, so you really have to be looking for it. read more

Had the shrimp Po Boy, side of coleslaw, and a cup of corn and crab bisque. The soup and sandwich were both quite good. The coleslaw was not very good for my taste. My colleague had the grilled catfish. I tried it and the season all used was ok but a bit salty, otherwise, a good fish. Decent place for reasonable price. read more

We order take out from here at work a lot. I have enjoyed just about everything I have eaten from here, but my only complaint is that it isn't very consistent. Some days the food is better than others. Guess it really depends on who is cooking. I love the southwest salad, and is probably my favorite item on the menu. On several occasions they have forgotten to give me dressing. I normally have some in the fridge at the office but it's just the point that they forgot to put it in the bag. Traffic was bad so I stopped last night and had a salad. The salad doesn't come with carrots but it was full of them. Just wish the cooks would pay more attention to what they are doing. read more

I don't often find myself near Brusly, LA much these days, but today around noon I completed a meeting and went to lunch with a couple of co-workers. I wasn't sure what they were calling the place, but I assure you after eating there I remember it now. Dc's Grill is in a strip mall fronting busy Hwy 1 between Brusly and Port Allen, and it draws a really big lunch crowd. The prices are comparable to anywhere else; the food is a different story. I had the Ultimate club sandwich with fries and tea. At first, when the sandwich appeared, I thought it was a little on the small side. But after two bites, that thought went out my head. Not only did it pack great flavor, it was VERY filling and by the time the sandwich disappeared, I noticed I had half a basket of fries left and NO desire to finish them off! By all means, give it a shot for a meal. I think you'll like it and like me will probably come back! read more

October 26, 2012 Bad Food, Bad Service, Owner Attitude Work in the area, and go out of our way to bring 6-8 employees for lunch to support local business. Multiple times very disappointed with the quality of food and just the TERRIBLE attitude of the owner. Don't know him personally, but after being treated twice with disrespect, will NEVER, NEVER eat at this establishment again. #1. Waiting in line on a busy lunch crowd, we move up to the register to order. The owner instructs us that we need to leave for a little while till his kitchen catches up. Once he realized that 8 people were leaving he changed his mind. Had a terrible attitude while taking the orders. #2. Waiting in line, 7 people in one group so they give you a number to put at the table when the food comes out. I switched places, so that I would be last letting a lady go before me. He cops a big attitude, saying that he thought that the lady was the last. He then says that I should be privileged that he is taking my order and providing food. I said that he should be glad that I am at his restaurant. What a Jerk. Never again, Never again.....Do not go here.....There are much better places for food, and thousands of places with better service. If I want bad service I go to Burger King. read more

Port Allen was the first stop on our trip. It was a little hard to find. Our GPS kept taking us to a residential cul de sac and told us to walk the rest of the way. We could see the restaurant but no way were we going through someone's backyard. Turns out they are actually on a frontage road. Totally worth the work to find them! I had the Fried Catfish Smothered with Seafood Etouffee - such a delicious dish, spiced nicely and the catfish was lightly breaded and cooked perfectly. Loved the coleslaw. I used to love dining here - until they called me a liar - yes, that's right. I picked up a to -go ordrer and when I got back to work, I called to say that it was not as I had ordered and could they make me another one. My order was cheese fries, no bacon. As a vegetarian, that means absolutely NO bacon. Just a few pieces that accidentally fell in are NOT ok. When I called the girl that answered the phone, put me on hold, then came back and said, "I don't mean to call you a liar, but the chef says there is no bacon in there." Really? He wasn't sitting at my desk with me picking it out, having a co-worker taste it just to make sure....so how could he know? Since they are obviously not concerned with customer satisfaction, I will no longer be a customer. Nor will anyone in my family. read more
