    Crispy Chicken Alla Vodka

I needed some lunch since we just moved into the neighborhood and have been wanting to try Roast. They also have a location in Hicksville which I have yet to try. It is located in a small strip mall with decent parking. They do have a lunch deal (pick 2) but neither looked appealing. I went with the Crispy Chicken Alla Vodka sandwich. It is a bit pricy but it was excellent and big enough to split into two meals. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are several tables available for seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will have to try the other dishes next time. Recommend!

Philly cheesesteak where is the rest of it?

Place has a great menu and reputation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Was there for lunch, very busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was a leak from the ceiling hitting a table and creating a puddle on the floor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I alerted a staff member. Was there for a half hour and they did nothing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]People kept trying to sit there and moving, nobody partitioned the area for safety.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordered soup with my sandwich, ten minutes after I ordered it they told me it's coming as they are making it. Philly cheesesteak was decent average quality taste wise, pathetic on the amount of ingredients. Who lets this leave the kitchen?

Although the price is a bit on the pricey side; the portions and taste is worth a visit periodically. We had the crispy chicken alla vodka sandwich which my kids devoured; the roast beef melt was good enough but Ive had better; buffalo chicken crunchwrap was great (my favorite); the Philly was good; the pastrami was a bit on the salty side; the fries were good (the dipping sauce is even better) but I don't really recommend the sweet potato tater tots. They also have big stuffed cookies that are $5 for each and although pricey even for its big size - I definitely recommend getting at least one - we got the cookies and cream as well as the rainbow cookie and they were both amazing. The customer service is quick, friendly and courteous. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a decent sized place where you can bring your kids to without worrying.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There's also a lot of parking as it's on a lot.

Had a great salad , a seasonal salad with pear, arugula , goat cheese etc. kinda pricey at $15, but at least it was a decent portion and the salad dressing was delicious. There are not a lot of vegetarian options, as they have a lot of chicken in a lot of things. But they do have a few vegetarian items to choose from, and of course you can get their salads with chicken , without the chicken, but I hate doing that as it's usually the same price. Plenty of parking in this Syosset strip mall. Service was good.

Another great Roast Sandwich House location. Roast is known for their unique sandwiches, salads and soups. Think like Panera but better. You got their usual suspects offered all year around and then they rotate items that are seasonal or weekly specials. You can easily share one sandwich between two people since they are on the larger side. My favorite is the cubano. Packed with tender and juicy slow roasted pork, ham, pickles, cheese and an aioli on a soft pressed hero. I also like the eggplant burrata caprese and grilled chicken panini. My husband loves their Italian sub. This location is a bit different from its original as they have ordering kiosks in addition to ordering straight from the register. If you plan to dine in they have a small eating area that comfortable. It's super convenient for me since now I got another option for lunch by work. Looking forward to returning again soon.

The new Roast is in the Muttontown shopping plaza just west of Chase Bank and Michael Drive.

In my last review of Roast Sandwich House( Melville location 6 months ago), I had used the phrase " Roast est with the Mostest." All I can say to all the locals in Woodbury, Muttontown, Jericho, Syosset and my neighbors just north on Cedar Swamp Rd- you hit the big jackpot - Roast Sandwich House opened their fourth location today, Monday April 17th on Jericho Tpke about a three minute drive west from Syosset Hospital. Another huge bonus - they are open 7 days a week, M to F 7-8, Sa 8-8 and Sun 9-5. I got the cold tuna salad sandwich on a hero. The bread was beautiful- soft, tasty and perfect for the delicious tuna salad with the luscious tomato slices and the crumbled potato chips. Loved this combo. It was served in a very unique metal sandwich container/ dish. Loved this even more. The tuna salad was so fresh! The best part- after 6 years of being a sporadic but raving fan and customer at their Hicksville, Melville and Mineola locations I got to meet the stellar, cool, kind, very sweet and in the trenches( he threw on an apron and went in the back) owner Joe. I see where his wonderful staff gets their passion, care and drive especially the fantastic Jillian from Melville who recognized me after 3 years. Wow! I also witnessed the way he interacted with his lovely team. 10 sandwich options - 7 are hot( I can personally vouch for the Crispy Eggplant Burrata Caprese- so I have 6 others to enjoy), 3 cold incl the tuna; 5 different sensational salads, three varieties of soups, beautiful sides, combo meals and check this out - breakfast served all day with iced and fresh hot coffee. This is a great and caring owner who gifted thousands of meals to front line personnel during Covid. Roast is the best Sandwich House! There is so much Love here. Welcome to Syosset and wish you a beautiful, successful and fun time.

Roast is a must-visit for anyone in search of delicious of a killer sandwich. We were greeted by an employee who told us he worked in the Mineola location and who was working in the Syossett location for the first time. He was friendly and courteous and eager to help. The sandwiche that I had was freakin amazing. It was the penne alla vodka chicken and was packed with flavor and is sure to leave you feeling satisfied. I split it with my wife and one sandwich was almost just enough to fill both of us. The sandwich was a perfect blend of creamy and savory, with chicken was great. They weren't busy at all when I showed up on a Saturday, but if you're in a hurry or looking to relax and enjoy your meal, seems like they could accommodate you. I would guess seating for 20 or more in a casual, but clean, seating area. Overall, Roast is a wonderful lunch spot that offers a winning combination of delicious food and good service. I'm looking forward to going back and trying some of their other sandwiches and maybe a soup.

Solid sandwiches! I was so sad when Village Heros closed down and began my search yet again for that Soul-satisfying sandwich... Roast is in the running! Got the Cubano and the Country Fried Chicken sandwiches - so tasty!! Also enjoyed the house made fries - ordered two for two people but one order would have sufficed. Great portions! The only downside (very slight) would be the Mac and Cheese - not bad but not great. It was the only hiccup during the whole meal. Service was quite friendly and efficient; the seating area was clean and comfortable. Parking is easy and, if you have room for dessert, Ralph's is just a couple of steps away (during the warmer days).

The prices are very reasonable for the food you get, everything came out quickly and tasty. The menu was so big, my friends and I will need to go back to try some of the other dishes. This was my first time that I went to a restaurant where all the ordering was done on an IPAD, I loved this way of looking at the menu and ordering! I do not eat red meat and there were plenty of chicken and vegetarian options to choose. I cannot wait to return to try more of the sushi as well as the soup dumplings again-so tasty! The hibachi table we sat at was impossibly close to the wall on the left as you walk in. In order to get into a seat you had to remove a chair to get into and seat yourself sideways onto the seat and then the next person would have to do the same. There were at best two servers for the room of six hibachi tables. Drink orders came after 20 minutes and then the children's drinks were forgotten. What was delivered was good, though. Hot sake and a sakatini paired with a beer. We felt bad because there was only one hibachi chef working and he had a full house. He did well and tried to provide good service even though he had to work non- stop. A good but not great show while we were being served. Not taking anything away from him because he really was swamped. Food was good and delivered either hot or cold and nothing to complain or rave about. One of the most "on par" meals I've had in a while. Prices were standard Long Island prices if not a few dollars per item elevated in comparison to other hibachi restaurants. Overall, fair for a decent meal.

Same great service from the one & only server who does the job of three ppl- forgive me for not even knowing his name after all these years. I absolutely love their perfectly fried vegetable spring rolls with peanut sauce, their pork & shrimp summer rolls taste fresh and their bánh xèo, which I request it to be made extra crispy- so freakin' good. Just found out in 2026 that it's actually not made with eggs, it's rice flour batter, oops. I also like their grilled angus beef satay with vermicelli noodles- very tasty. Not really a fan of their phở though my other half always get the xl size phở bò. We also ordered the half Peking duck and spicy black fish. The Peking duck was served with pancakes to wrap the duck as well as cucumber, pineapple and hoisin sauce. Given the culinary brilliance here, if you order one of your favorites, it'll be done well, but you're better off trying something unique that might not be on the menu at your local Chinese, Indian or Thai spot. Chili tofu and basil ginger fish were two great showcases for the complex spices available here. (I'm a real American hero, I ate fourths since my parents preferred leftovers that didn't have the top spice levels). And if you're spice-adverse yet chili-curious, the honey chili potato is worth a shot. These are essentially fries. Our server, Ten, was amazing. We ordered: - Spring Salad (5/5) this tasted so good with the fresh mango, the snap peas, and the carrot ginger dressing. - Faroe Islands Salmon (5/5) I only tasted the rice, and not the salmon itself, but the rice was so good, and I just kept on stealing more from the plate. - Roasted-Half Chicken (4/5) This was my own entrée, and I loved how the chicken was crispy, and I also really liked the garlic mashed potatoes, but the only thing that I did not think worked well with the dish was the swiss chard. Unfortunately, the meat had an oddly gamey flavor that immediately raised questions about the quality or freshness. The sauce itself was decent, but it wasn't enough to save the ribs. For entrées, we ordered the steak frites and the half chicken. The steak was maybe a 5/10, and that's being generous. The meat itself was underwhelming, and the accompanying steak sauce actually made matters worse rather than complementing it. Even stranger was the side salad, which somehow had a noticeable fishy smell and taste--definitely not something you expect from a fresh salad. The half chicken was easily the biggest disappointment. It had an unpleasant flavor that came across as spoiled or rotten, to the point where it was difficult to eat. The potatoes alongside it were about a 4/10--bland and forgettable. Overall, much of the food had the taste and texture of something that had been frozen and reheated rather than freshly prepared. Ironically, the fries may have been the best thing we ate all night. Then again, fries are a pretty low bar to clear--and thankfully, they managed not to mess those up. The restaurant was also a bit chilly inside, which didn't help the experience. And on a less serious note, the Diet Coke deserves a mention. Put it next to a McDonald's Diet Coke--and we all know McDonald's is the gold standard--and this one is just sad. I don't enjoy leaving overly negative reviews, but when you're paying restaurant prices, there should be a baseline expectation of freshness and quality. Between the questionable ribs, fishy salad, poor steak, and especially the chicken, this meal fell well below that standard. Food: 3/10 Atmosphere: 6/10 Fries: Somehow the MVP
