Staff is definitely very attentive, perhaps a little too attentive for our personal taste. I have frequented kashi for years. I love the ambiance though I do miss how lively the happy hours were with Tina. The music was always a vibe, the decor is gorgeous and the food doesn't miss, literally ever. Service is always good nothing to ever complain about there. I came here with some friends for a casual dinner and was very disappointed. First the food was very average, I ordered the rock shrimp tempura and a salmon specialty roll which were both fine. The fish didn't taste very fresh and the seasoning on both dishes were pretty underwhelming. My friends got fried rice and udon which were also both pretty mid. For the price that they are charging, the quality needs to be much better. The most disappointing part had to be the service. We were seated on the bar side and there were a total of 3 other tables on our side throughout the entire night all with only a few people each. We needed some time to order and the waiter forgot about us for a while before finally coming to take our orders. We waited nearly 40mins for our orders to come out and considering that we got two sushi rolls, one side of fried rice and another udon side, the food took way longer than it should have. When it was finally time to get the check, the waiter did not come to take our card for another 10mins as she was on her phone texting. I had to walk up to the bar to get the check taken care of. I don't know if this is a normal experience here when it comes to service but I would recommend going somewhere else if you're looking for a good sushi place. read more

The best Kashi of the chain! This was delightful! I'm use to going to the one in RVC but this one is now my new favorite! The staff here is very attentive! The food was delicious! The only downside is they don't offer hibachi style experience dinner that RVC location has but truthfully I can live without it! The styling of this restaurant is very upscale! Kashi is one of the best sushi spots in the area. The seared scallops were cooked perfectly. It comes with 4 pieces. Though unassuming, the sauce was delicious! The classic rolls taste good and fresh. The eel was absolutely amazing. If you've never had it I'd definitely recommend trying it. The blue fin tuna was good. The ikura sushi had a sweet sauce at the bottom. Not sure if it had leaked over from the eel, but it didn't go well with the sushi. The roe itself was as good as usual. The toro and caviar nori tacos were okay. The toro was chopped up but I was expecting it to be a whole piece. I've had better otoro before. I tried to also get the uni and caviar nori tacos but they were out of uni. It's okay it happens. The lychee martini was great too. Out of everything I had I would 100% get the eel sushi and seared scallops again. They were to die for. I would also get the salmon avocado roll and lychee martini again. Only reason it's not 5 stars was because the otoro didn't meet my expectations. Overall I would definitely recommend coming here and I will be back. read more

The experience at Kashi was sub par. The food was "good", the service was practically non existent. We ordered a "chef's choice" platter. Our server was unable to tell us what we were eating, he had no idea. As we finished one course and the next course arrived, we had to clear off our own table as the server simply stood there looking at the full table trying to decide where to place the new dishes while the empties were on the table. After we saw he was not removing the empty plates, we cleared the table and the empty dishes ourselves. He was about to walk away WITHOUT the empties. We had to ASK him to take the dishes away! I went here for a lunch special with my family and it was overall a very lackluster experience. Upon arrival, the host was too busy taking a to-go order on the phone that he didn't greet or tell us to wait for a table. Someone in my party was telling us that we should just leave, but as we were just about to say something he FINALLY acknowledged us. By the way, we were one of the first customers this day, so it was obvious they didn't clean the soy sauce container from the day before. Ambiance (4/5): The high ceilings with the hanging decorations makes the place seem very trendy. I was a fan of the music. We were seated on the secluded side of the restaurant near the bar. By the bar are TVs with sports playing. The large U shaped booths faced the bar and walls on the sides that blocked view of the other patrons as well as work staff. The other side was open and overlooked the sushi bar and chefs. Service (3/5): We were seated immediately on a Saturday evening around 8pm. Due to our seating in the establishment, we were out of sight from servers and as a result had very slow service. When asked for requests, the servers were quick to provide! I had to often flag down the wait staff as they attended to our neighbors. I attribute the experience to location of our dining and their short-staff. Food: Spicy Tuna Gyoza (5pc) $15 (4/5): I was expecting more of a dumpling but it was presented in a fried wonton. The portions of the tuna were small but the Thai mango chili aioli was pretty good. Takayama Roll $18 (5/5): The roll was flavor was overpowered by the ranch wasabi aioli but I felt like everything tasted really good. Sushi and Sashimi for One $33 (4/5): The dish was presented in a large iced bowl with a decoration of a mermaid. The serving size is plentiful for one person. I've been going to this place for years. I'm actually very excited for their new items on the menu. The Nori Tacos are out of this world. The fried nori is so crunchy yet it stays crispy for a good amount of time. Especially the Toro Caviar Nori Taco is a must! Also the Uni Caviar and The Wagyu with Truffle Salt Nori Tacos were so delicious. The Wagyu Carpaccio was another one that I loved. You can definitely taste that it was torched from every bite. The Monster Lobster Roll was good. It almost has a whole lobster tail in a roll. I would prefer not to put cocktail sauce on mine next time. Really liked the new beautiful ceiling lights. For my sushi roll I got the Salmon Atami roll. It was amazing and delicious! So fresh. I really enjoyed it. My friend ordered the spicy tropical roll. She enjoyed it as well! I was very happy that both rolls were not overfilled with rice. My roll and kani salad was very filling and a great choice for lunch. We were not rushed between the kani salad and our sushi rolls. Kashi has always been consistently amazing and we have ordered regularly over the last 2-3 years. They never made a single mistake and their consistency was impressive. However, on our first order since apparently being under new management, we were disappointed to find a beverage was totally missing from our order, no chopsticks either, and the sushi pieces were literally half the size of what it used to be. this is not an exaggeration. Not only this, but the parking lot has been turned into some joke valet arrangement, meaning you now have to park on the street to pick up your order. Kashi is pretty busy around lunch time and parking is a hit or miss. They have a shared lot with other establishments so you may want to order take out and have someone wait in the car. Prices are higher than other Japanese restaurants in the area with fewer options (white rice or $4 more for fried rice). The Miso Sea Bass Roll was fresh and packed very neatly. I thought the signature roll was tasty so I would come back if I wanted to switch things up from my usual hibachi place. read more
